Redmi Note 9

The Note 9 series fancies a new minimalistic design change. A Square hump in the middle of a glass canvas i.e. the Aura Balance Design (as Xiaomi Likes to call it) is a modest design change to the Redmi family.

On the front, the Redmi Note 9 flaunts a 6.53-inch IPS LCD Panel that stretches up to 83% percent; credits to the minimalistic punch-hole cutout.

Redmi Note 9 design
Redmi Note 9

Xiaomi has opted to go with MediaTek on the Redmi Note 9 instead of the Snapdragon which is used on its Pro version. It uses MediaTek’s Helio G85 and is the first phone to use this chipset.

Helio G85 is a top-notch chipset and it will have flawless performance but Realme 6 uses Helio G90T and should have a similar price to Redmi Note 9 when it launches.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 gets a quad-camera setup on the rear with a 48MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 main sensor. Whereas the Redmi Note 9 Pro has a 48MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM2 main sensor.

Except for this, Redmi Note 9 has an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. On the front, it has a 13MP sensor for selfies.

Moving on the Redmi Note 9 runs on Android 10 and MIUI 11. And it is eligible for future updates as well.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 is a good device for Rs. 22,999. However, Samsung’s new M21 is a very good phone for the price. It provides the latest camera sensor and has good performance. Though, Redmi Note 9 edges M21 slightly in terms of performance. M21 is a very good alternative. But you will get more storage on the Redmi Note 9 for a similar price.

Redmi Note 9 Specifications

Redmi Note 9 Pro

Redmi Note 9 Pro is the update to the Note 8 series. It comes with a new design language as there’s square hump on the glass back for camera module. Further, Note 9 Pro provides a 6.67 inch IPS LCD punch-hole display.

Redmi Note 9 Pro rocks a Snapdragon 720G chipset which performs similar to Redmi Note 8 Pro’s Mediatek Helio G90T chipset. Snapdragon 720G has a better CPU score than G90T but the G90T pulls ahead in terms of GPU scores. But Snapdragon 720G is more efficient than the G90T as it’s built-in an 8nm process whilst G90T is built in the 12nm process.

Redmi Note 9 Pro
Redmi Note 9 Pro

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro gets a quad-camera setup on the rear with a 48MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM2 main sensor.

Except for this, Redmi Note 9 Pro has an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 5MP macro sensor. On the front, it has a 16MP sensor for selfies.

Moving on the Redmi Note 9 Pro runs on Android 10 and MIUI 11. And it is eligible for future updates as well.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro is an excellent device for Rs. 29,999. However, the older Redmi Note 8 Pro is equally good or even better in some cases. It’s Helio G90T is better for gaming and actually it’s 64MP sensor is better than the new 48MP GM2 sensor on Redmi Note 9 Pro. And, its price is the same as the Redmi Note 9 Pro.

But I do prefer the new design of the Note 9 Pro and it comes with an upgraded battery as well. Go for Redmi Note 9 Pro if you don’t care about the small difference in camera and gaming performance compared to Redmi Note 8 Pro.

Xiaomi Mi 10

Xiaomi Mi 10 doesn’t scream unique but it looks simple and elegant. It has a premium glass back that houses a quad-camera setup and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. And, it has P2i coating instead of IP certification for water resistance. On the front, it has a Full HD+ screen on the Mi 10. However, its 6.67 inch AMOLED Dot Display is a 90Hz panel with180 touch sampling rate.

Xiaomi Mi 10 is a comes with Snapdragon 865, 8GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB UFS 3.0 Storage. It will have flawless performance as this is the latest and greatest hardware you can get right now.

Xiaomi Mi 10
Xiaomi Mi 10

Xiaomi Mi 10 gets a quad-camera setup on the rear and it uses the 108MP ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor as the main sensor. This is a slightly downgraded version of the latest ISOCELL Bright HM1 sensor that is used on the Samsung S20+ Ultra.

Moving on, Mi 10 runs on Android 10 and MIUI 11. And, it should review future Android update as well.

Many people might not consider Xiaomi as a premium smartphone manufacturer but they should. Xiaomi Mi 10 is a compelling device that hits all the good spots. Well, it doesn’t have a QHD display and a telephoto lens that we normally expect from a flagship. But, it gives you good enough spec for the price and you should definitely consider this device. However, OnePlus 7T Pro and the new OnePlus 8 Pro does provide it a tough competition.

Xiaomi Mi 10 Specifications

  • Body: 162.5 x 74.8 x 9 mm, 208 g, Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, Dual stand-by)
  • Display: 6.67 inches Super AMOLED, 1080 x 2340 Resolution, 19.5:9 Aspect Ratio, 386 ppi, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10+

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite

Mi Note 10 Lite looks similar to the Mi Note 10 with its curved body but its quad-camera setup is slightly different. On the front, it has an FHD AMOLED display but it’s not 90HZ like the Mi 10. It comes with P2i coating for water resistance and has Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

It features Snapdragon 730G chipset which is a good performer in its price range. But, Xiaomi’s own Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi Note 8 Pro, and Redmi Note 9 Pro provide better performance than the Note 10 Lite. While the K20 Pro is just 2k more, the other two devices are far cheaper.

Mi Note 10 Lite
Mi Note 10 Lite

Mi Note 10 Lite has the 64MP Sony IMX 686 sensor; predecessor of Sony IMX 586 sensor. And, it is the direct competition to Samsung’s 64MP ISOCELL GW1 sensor. Along with it, Mi Note 10 Lite gets an 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor, 5MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro sensor on the rear. Whereas, it has a single 16MP camera on the front.

Moving on, it runs on the latest version of Android with Android 10 and MIUI 11. MIUI is fast and fluid but everyone has a preference and I’m not a huge fan of MIUI but its good.

For Rs. 44,999 Mi Note 10 Lite feels underwhelming due to Xiaomi’s own phones like the Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi Note 8 Pro, and Redmi Note 9 Pro. Improved battery size and faster 30W charging is the only noticeable upgrade over all of the three devices.

Also, you could go for Realme X2 which has the same chipset and Samsung’s 64MP sensor.

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite Specifications

  • Body: 157.8 x 74.2 x 9.7 mm, 204 g, Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, Dual stand-by)
  • Display: 6.47 inches Super AMOLED, 1080 x 2340 Resolution, 19.5:9 Aspect Ratio, 398 ppi, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, HDR10

  • CPU: Octa-core (2×2.2 GHz Kryo 470 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 470 Silver)
  • GPU: Adreno 618
  • Memory: 128GB ROM 6GB RAM, 128GB ROM 8GB RAM, UFS 2.1
  • OS: Android 10, MIUI 11
  • Rear Camera: 64 MP, f/1.9, 26mm (Wide), 1/1.72″, 0.8µm, PDAF, Laser AF

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite Price in Nepal: Rs. 44,999 (6/128GB) / Rs. 49,999 (8/128GB)

Pros Cons

Good AMOLED display Expensive that competitions
Good performance
Good rear cameras
Good battery and fast charging

Redmi 8A Dual

Redmi 8A Dual rocks similar design as the Redmi 8 and 8A. But it rocks a different mesh texture which surely looks intrinsic. It has a dual-camera setup on the back. On the front, it has a 720p IPS display. But it doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor.

Underneath, it is powered by the Snapdragon 439 chipset which has an octa-core processor (4×1.95 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.45 GHz Cortex A53) and Adreno 505 GPU along with 2/3GB of RAM. Both, the 2GB RAM and the 3GB RAM variant have a 32GB onboard storage.

Redmi 8A Dual
Redmi 8A Dual

In terms of the camera, it has a 13MP main sensor along with a 2MP depth sensor.

Redmi 8A Dual runs on Android Version 9 along with MIUI 11.

For Rs. 14,999 you are getting a good device overall. Though, there are good phones like Oppo A5s, Huawei Y6s, and Xiaomi’s own Redmi 8 for a similar price. Redmi 8’s main downside is the unavailability of the fingerprint sensor.

But it’s 5000 mAh battery and 18W fast charging is very impressive. So, yes, it is one of the best Redmi phones in this price list of Xiaomi phones in Nepal you can get. However, the lack of a fingerprint sensor is quite concerning.

Redmi 8A Dual Specifications

  • Body: 156.5 x 75.4 x 9.4 mm, 188 g, Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by)
  • Display: 6.22-inches AMOLED, 720×1520 Resolution, 19:9 Aspect Ratio, 270 ppi, Gorilla Glass 5 Protection
  • Chipset: Qualcomm SDM439 Snapdragon 439 (12 nm)
  • CPU: Octa-core (4×1.95 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.45 GHz Cortex A53)

  • Colors: Sky White, Sea Blue, Midnight Grey

Redmi 8A Dual Price in Nepal: Rs. 13,499 (2/32GB) / Rs. 14,499 (3/32GB)

Pros Cons

Redmi Note 8 Pro

Redmi Note 8 Pro has excellent design and build quality. The glass back houses quad-camera setup whereas it has a Full HD IPS LCD display on the front with a waterdrop notch. It comes with the P2i coating and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

For hardware, Redmi Note 8 Pro uses a top-notch MediaTek Helio G90T chipset and it is hands down the best chipset you will get for the money. It even beats Snapdragon 720G in terms of gaming. If you are looking for a gaming smartphone under 30k, just go for the Note 8 Pro.

As for cameras, Redmi Note 8 Pro gets a 64MP ISOCELL GW1 sensor from Samsung. Along with it, it has 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor.

So, close your eyes and go for the Redmi Note 8 Pro if you’re looking for a phone under 30k in Nepal.

Redmi Note 8

Redmi Note 8 gets a similar glass back design as the Redmi Note 8 Pro. But, it’s camera module design is different.

Redmi Note 8 features Snapdragon 665 chipset and it’s a decent chipset but it’s not exactly good for gaming. Along with this, Redmi Note 8 comes with a 4GB/6GB RAM option and a 64GB/128GB storage option.

Redmi Note 8

As for cameras, Redmi Note 8 comes with a 48MP sensor, 8MP ultrawide sensor, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro sensor. Whereas, you get a single 13MP sensor on the front for selfies.

Redmi Note 8 is arguably one of the best phones under 25k in Nepal. Though you will get much better-performing devices like Realme 3 for a similar price though you will have to compromise on display. Or you can also opt for Redmi Note 7 Pro which comes with Snapdragon 675 for 2k more.

Overall, Redmi Note 8 is a very good device in this list of Redmi mobiles price in Nepal. If you want a device that has everything under 25k, go for it.

In terms of hardware, Xiaomi Mi A3 comes with the Snapdragon 665 chipset and 4GB/6GB of RAM. Snapdragon 665 is not the best performing chipset in this price range.
