Redmi 12 Overview

Design

The Redmi 12, with its glass back and a plastic frame, at only 8.17mm thickness, is one slick-looking phone. The right side houses the volume rockers and power button, which doubles as a fingerprint reader. The sim tray is placed on the left side of the phone.

It has one downward-firing speaker for audio playback. We’re happy that the phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack and an IR blaster at the top. At the front, the hole punch camera definitely makes it feel like a more modern premium phone. Oh yeah, the phone is also IP53-rated. That’s a lot of things packed into a budget phone.

Display

The large 6.79-inch IPS LCD has a resolution of 1080 x 2460 and can reach a peak of 550 nits brightness. The display has a 1500:1 contrast ratio with a 70% NTSC color gamut.

The bezels look relatively small, and the 90Hz refresh rate display has AdaptiveSync which allows it to clock down its speed to 36Hz.
