Released globally in December 2023, the Samsung Galaxy A15 5G will officially enter the Nepali market starting 19th February.

Samsung Galaxy A15 5G Overview

Design

The Samsung Galaxy A15 5G shares the same Samsung’s new “Key Island” design as the Galaxy A25 5G. The power and volume buttons are on a raised frame, which may now be on all the upcoming budget to mid-range Samsung devices launching in 2024.

Samsung says the “new Key Island unique floating border design with 4 reasonable angled edges creates a firm but comfortable grip.”

The rear has the familiar trio of cameras arranged in streamlined contours. The phone has a plain matte back with a frosted glass-like feel.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy A15 features a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED Full HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate support. It has a maximum brightness of 800 nits (HBM).

However, you still get a waterdrop notch with pretty big bezels that are very noticeable.

Hardware

The Samsung Galaxy A15 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset.

This is a 6nm chipset boasting two 2.2GHz Cortex-A76 and six 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 cores. The GPU is the Mali-G57.

In terms of memory, the smartphone comes with 8GB RAM with storage options of 128GB and 256GB. You will also get a lesser 6GB RAM variant with 128GB storage option.

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy A15 features a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.

On the front, the phone has a 13MP selfie camera and the phone can take 1080p video at 30fps.

Battery and OS

The A15 packs a 5000mAh battery and supports 25W fast charging.

As for software, it runs on One UI 6.0 based on Android 14. Samsung has promised to provide at least 4 years of major software upgrades and 5 years of security updates.

Samsung has announced to expand Samsung’s hardware-based security solution, Knox Vault to the mid-range Galaxy A series starting from 2024.

The Galaxy A15 5G will feature the EAL5+ certified Knox Vault, which according to Samsung “is designed to safeguard your sensitive data, such as PINs, passwords and patterns, in a separate tamper-resistant storage”.
