vivo V30 5G with Three 50MP Cameras Hits Shelves in Nepal

The vivo V30 is now available for purchase in Nepal. The phone, which was announced in February 2024, is a successor of the vivo V29 5G.

The vivo V30 is a mid-range smartphone that carries the body of vivo S18, launched in December in China. But the V30 comes with a different camera setup with a 50MP ultrawide camera along with the 50MP main and selfie cameras.

The phone has an AMOLED screen with 2800 nits peak brightness and is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor.

vivo V30 5G Overview

Design

The vivo V30 carries the same body and design as the vivo S18 and is 7.5 mm thin. The phone looks beautiful from the front, with minimum bezels and a hole punch cut out for the front camera.

The back of the phone has a round-cornered rectangular island with a squircle camera holder on the top half. The bottom half has an LED flashlight but also a squircle “Aura Light”, which in vivo’s words “intelligently detects low ambient light and adds brightness for radiant, delicate complexions.”

Each color variant has its own unique design, where white has a 3D petal pattern, aqua has a rippling magnetic particle effect, green has a color-changing characteristic, and black has a reflective frosted finish. In Nepal, the phone is available in green and black color options.

While the vivo V29 was IP68 certified, the V30 gets a downgrade to IP54 splash and dust-resistant.

Display

The vivo V30 gets a similar 6.78-inches curved 1.5K AMOLED display with 1260 x 2800 resolution as its predecessor. The display has a 120Hz screen refresh rate and supports HDR10+ content.

The changes you will find are an extreme peak brightness of 2800 nits (as per vivo) and a Schott Xensation Alpha display protection.

The display also has an in-display optical fingerprint scanner for security.

Hardware

In the hardware department, the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. The octa-core processor consists of one Cortex-A715 core (clocked at up to 2.63 GHz), three Cortex-A715 cores (clocked at up to 2.4 GHz), and four Cortex-A510 cores (clocked at up to 1.8GHz).

The GPU in this SoC is the Adreno 720. With this, you get the RAM and storage combinations of 128GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 12GB RAM, and 512GB 12GB RAM.

You also get microSD card support to expand the internal storage. Additionally, the phone has a large vapor chamber of 3002 sq mm and 11 built-in real-time temperature sensors for delivering better gaming performance.

Camera

The vivo V30 features a 50MP OmniVision OV50E sensor with support for OIS. It also has a 50MP ultrawide camera. It can shoot up to 4K videos at 30fps and 1080p videos at 30fps.

The front of the camera also boasts a 50MP camera with autofocus capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30fps.

Battery and OS

The vivo V30 phone gets upgraded from a 4600mAh battery in its predecessor to a standard 5000mAh battery. The phone still supports the same 80W fast charging, which is claimed to fully charge the phone from an empty battery in 48 minutes.

The phone also supports reverse-wired charging, which allows this phone to be used as a power bank for another phone.

And finally, the V30 runs Funtouch 14, based on Android 14 out-of-the-box. vivo promises a “50-month smooth experience”, which could mean that the phone will get 4 years of OS updates.

The price of the vivo V30 5G in Nepal is Rs. 60,999 for the sole 12/256GB variant. You can buy the phone at vivo-authorized stores or through Daraz.

The vivo V30 features a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, a stunning 120Hz 1.5K AMOLED display, and powerful cameras. It features 50MP cameras both in the front and back.

Despite being 7.5 mm thin, it still packs a 5,000mAh battery, which supports 80W fast charging. The compromise you will find on this phone is the IP54 protection.
