vivo Y17s 4GB Variant Launched in Nepal

vivo launched the entry-level phone vivo Y17s in Nepal with 6GB RAM in September 2023. Three months later, the company released the 4GB variant as well in the country.

Design

The vivo Y17s sports a glitter AG textured back with two vertically arranged cameras and a flash. The phone is rated IP54 for dust and water resistance.

The right side of the device has a volume rocker and a combo of power button and fingerprint reader. On the front, the phone has a waterdrop notch, and a noticeably bigger chin bezel, which is common in entry-level phones.

The USB-C port is located on the bottom side of the phone alongside the speaker, 3.5mm headphone jack, and microphone. The SIM card tray, however, is placed on the phone’s top side.

Display

As is typical in low-end phones, the vivo Y17s also features an IPS LCD display with a standard 60Hz refresh rate and an HD+ resolution.

The display measures 6.56 inches and vivo claims it can reach a peak brightness of 840 nits.

Hardware

The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, a processor built on a 12nm process node. It is a decent budget processor that provides good performance.

The chipset has two Cortex-A75 CPUs clocked at up to 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55 CPUs at up to 1.8GHz, and a Mali-G52 GPU. It is paired with 4/6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

Camera

The back has a dual camera setup comprising a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor.

The front has an 8MP selfie camera. The phone can shoot up to 1080p video at 30fps.

Battery and OS

The vivo Y17s comes with a 5000mAh battery, which should provide an excellent battery life. For charging, it supports 15W, which is very slow by today’s standard.

Regarding software, the device runs on Android 13 topped with Funtouch OS 13.

vivo Y17s price in Nepal is Rs. 16,999 (6/128GB) and Rs. 14,999 (4/128GB). You can buy it at retail stores across the country.

The vivo Y17s is a budget phone powered by a Helio G85 chipset. It has a great design, a 5000mAh battery, and a 50MP main camera.
