Honor X8b Price in Nepal (April 2024 Updated)

Honor unveiled a lower-midrange smartphone dubbed the Honor X8b with 512GB storage in December 2023. Two months later, the company brought the phone to Nepal.

The Honor X8b comes with 512GB storage, which is rare in this budget category. Additionally, it features an AMOLED panel, a Snapdragon 680 processor, and a triple camera setup.

Honor X8b Overview

Design

The Honor X8b comes with a flat design, plastic build, and rounded corners. It also carries a square-shaped camera island with 4 circular cutouts for its 3 cameras and a flash.

Honor has managed to reduce the thickness and weight of the phone further than the Honor X8a giving it a 6.78mm of thickness and 166g weight. On the front, the phone has minimal bezels and a capsule-shaped camera notch that also houses a flash module.

As an added functionality, Honor utilizes the space around the notch to display real-time app information such as timer, recording in progress, etc. Honor calls this the “Magic Capsule”, which resembles the idea of the dynamic island on iPhones.

The volume button and the power button cum fingerprint reader are placed on the right-hand side of the device, whereas the sim card slot sits on the opposite side. Likewise, the bottom houses the mic, speaker, and USB-C port. Sadly, Honor has ditched the headphone jack on this model.

The Honor X8b ships in 3 color variations: Titanium Silver, Midnight Black, and a “leather-textured” Glamorous Green.

Display

In terms of display, the phone sports a 6.7-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels. This is an AMOLED display with a screen refresh rate of 90Hz.

The display boasts a 3240Hz high-frequency PWM dimming technology which helps to reduce eye fatigue. Honor states that the display covers the DCI-P3 color space with a wide spectrum of 16.7 million colors. It also says that the screen is capable of reaching 90Hz of peak brightness.

Hardware

Inside, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G chipset which is built on a 6nm process technology. It is an octa-core processor with four 2.4 GHz Cortex-A73 and four 1.9 GHz Cortex-A53 supported by the Adreno 610 GPU.

The chipset is found on budget phones such as the Samsung Galaxy A05s, Redmi Note 11, and Vivo Y36. Packed with 8GB of RAM, the phone set ships with 512GB storage in Nepal.

In addition, the company states it has a 5-star drop resistance from SGS Switzerland along with Honor’s in-lab rigorous tests.

Camera

The rear has a camera setup of a 108MP main camera, a 5MP ultrawide and depth sensor camera, and a 2MP macro camera. 

Meanwhile, the front has a 50MP selfie camera with a soft LED flash. Both the front and back camera of the device can shoot up to 1080p videos at 30fps.

Battery and OS

Honor has included a 4500mAh battery on the Honor X8b which supports 35W Honor SuperCharge. 

The phone runs Android 13 with Honor’s native MagicOS 7.2.

Although the phone is slim and lightweight, the company has claimed some rigorous durability testing and also achieved a drop-resistance certification.
