The Note series from realme has always been about offering the bare minimum while also being a tough cookie to crack. For 2026, realme has brought its strongest Note series offering to Nepal yet with the realme Note 80.

Looking at recent launches like the realme GT 8 Pro, which was one of the most affordable flagships you could buy, and some decent mid-rangers from the P series, I have high hopes for this one. realme has been on a roll lately, and I am hoping that momentum carries over to the entry-level segment as well.
What is the Price of realme Note 80 in Nepal?
realme’s recent launches, the P3, P3 Ultra, GT 8 Pro, and even the 15 Pro, have all come in with surprisingly aggressive pricing. That gave me some hope for this new entry-level offering as well. Sadly, the price came in a bit more expensive than anticipated. The realme Note 80 price in Nepal starts at Rs. 22,499 for the sole 4/64GB variant.
As part of its launch offer, realme is offering a Rs. 500 cashback, bringing the effective starting price down to just Rs. 21,999. The phone is available for purchase through realme-authorized stores and retailers across Nepal.
Interestingly, the Note series usually arrives in August. But this time around, the Note 80 launched back in March, five months earlier than usual. We saw something similar happen with the Xiaomi 17T as well, where Xiaomi typically launches the T series in September, but this time surprised everyone with a May debut. It seems like brands are shifting their launch timelines.
One thing worth clearing up before we go any further: realme’s Note series is nothing like the Note phones from other brands. While names like Redmi Note and Infinix Note are typically associated with upper-budget smartphones, realme uses the Note branding for its entry-level lineup. So despite the familiar name, the Note 80 is aimed squarely at the budget segment. With that out of the way, let’s start with the overview.

realme Note 80 Overview

I have never really been a fan of realme’s phone design. Even their more premium lineup, like the realme 15 Pro, lacked that wow factor. The realme Note 80 sadly sticks to a familiar design language, with little that feels fresh or new.
It features a camera plateau-style design with what looks like a triple camera module. But do not get your hopes up; there is just one actual camera. The second cutout is a flash, and the third is purely for show.
Moving on, the Note series has always bragged about durability, and the Note 80 carries that torch with an IP54 ingress rating, ArmorShell protection, and Military-grade shock resistance certification. The slogan “Built to Last” is ambitious. Hopefully it holds.

Flip the phone over, and you are greeted with a 6.74-inch screen, not too big, not too small. But it runs an HD+ resolution on an IPS panel, which is not great. What I really did not expect was a 90Hz refresh rate instead of the 120Hz that some rivals like the Redmi A7 already offer at this price. 90Hz is not bad for entry-level, but it is starting to feel like a step behind.
The brightness numbers are also not particularly impressive at 450 nits typical and 563 nits in HBM. So you will likely find yourself squinting at the screen in direct sunlight.

Performance, however, is actually decent. The Note 80 runs the Unisoc T7250, the same chip found on the Redmi A7. It is not going to run PUBG at the highest framerates, but it holds its own against entry-level rivals, including the Moto G06 Power with its MediaTek Helio G81. Paired with the chip is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is also a dedicated microSD card slot for buyers who need more space.
The camera, unfortunately, is where things take a turn for the worse. The Note 60 had a respectable 32MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The Note 70 stepped back to a 13MP with f/2.2. And now the Note 80 hits a new low with just an 8MP main sensor at f/2.0. The front camera is a 5MP selfie shooter, the same as it has been since the realme Note 50. The regression here is hard to ignore.

On the battery front, the 6,300mAh unit is decent, but it is not the best in the segment. That title still belongs to the Moto G06 Power with its 7,000mAh unit. Charging is handled by a 15W wired charger included in the box, which will take a while to top up that 6,300mAh cell.
Lastly, the software. The Note 80 ships with Android 15 wrapped in realme UI 6.0. In 2026, Android 15 is already a year old, and launching a new phone with it this deep into the year raises some fair questions. Android 16 exists, so why not put it on here?

Going into this, I had high hopes for the realme Note 80, partly because of how well realme has been performing with their recent launches. But the Note 80 is a reminder that the Note series has always been the bare minimum first, and this year is no different.
The durability credentials, the 6,300mAh battery, and the competitive processor are all genuine positives. But the camera regression, the 90Hz display, and the dated Android 15 make it hard to recommend enthusiastically.
Then there’s the pricing, which is where things really fall apart. Starting at over Rs. 20,000, the Note 80 simply doesn’t stand out the way it needs to. At a lower price, the Samsung Galaxy A07 offers faster performance along with a longer software support promise. If battery life is your top priority, the Moto G06 Power delivers a similar overall experience while packing a larger 7,000mAh battery.
As I mentioned earlier, this isn’t a bad phone. But at this price, the realme Note 80 becomes much harder to recommend. The competition simply offers more compelling packages,
