Infinix never really fails to offer good value for money. Whether it is the Infinix GT 30 Pro with its insane price-to-performance or the Infinix Note 50x punching way above its weight with its killer specs. They’re keeping that momentum going with the Infinix Smart 20, the 2026 follow-up to the hugely popular Smart 10.

The Smart 20 is launching without the usual lineup of variants. As of yet, there is no Plus, Pro, or HD variant, which is quite unusual considering Infinix has been spinning off variants of its Smart series since the Smart 4.
We’ll see if more versions show up later or if Infinix is actually changing their game plan.
What is the Price of Infinix Smart 20 in Nepal?
Infinix has always kept its pricing surprisingly reasonable, especially when you consider the massive price hikes the smartphone market has been seeing lately. Somehow, Infinix has managed to keep those increases to a minimum.
Just look at the contrast, from the OPPO A5x to the A6x. The same 6/128GB variant got hit with a price bump of over Rs. 10,000. That’s a massive jump for what’s basically just a successor.
Then there’s Infinix, where the base variant of the GT 30 Pro continues to sell at Rs. 48,000, the same price it launched at.
With all that in mind, the Infinix Smart 20 price in Nepal could start at Rs. 16,999 for the 4/64GB variant and Rs. 18,999 for the 4/128GB model. The phone hasn’t been officially launched in Nepal, but we’ve got confirmation it’ll be here pretty soon.
With pricing out of the way, let’s talk about something that Infinix is dangerously close to falling into confusing naming shenanigans. Brands focused on selling budget phones have already gone down this road, and it has not ended well. Vivo first launched the Y21d, then the Y31d, and then somehow the Y11d, leaving buyers scratching their heads about which one came first.
OPPO is no better, with the A6, A6x, A6c, and A6 Pro all floating around at the same time, making it nearly impossible to figure out where each one sits.
Infinix has been relatively clean about it so far, Smart 7, 8, 9, 10, straightforward. But now they have jumped straight from the Smart 10 to the Smart 20.
For buyers who are not following every launch closely, that gap might make it seem like this is some sort of massive, generational leap forward. In reality, though, the Smart 20 is just a regular yearly upgrade: decent improvements, nothing dramatic.
With that said, let’s see if the Infinix Smart 20 can hold its own against other budget phones out there.
Infinix Smart 20 Overview

Ever since Apple popularized that raised camera plateau design, almost every smartphone brand has taken some inspiration from it, and the Infinix Smart 20 is no exception. It features a similar plateau housing a square camera cutout, giving it that mird-range Infinix Note 60 vibe.

Either way, the Smart 20 looks surprisingly premium because of it. And that is quite a feat considering the entire body is plastic.
The front feels upscale too, with a clean punch-hole cutout. This is a welcome sight considering recent budget launches like the Moto G06 Power and Tecno Spark Go 3 have gone backwards with a water drop notch.

While the display does feel premium with that clean notch and a 6.78-inch screen, the specs are pretty average: HD+ resolution, IPS panel, and 120Hz refresh rate. But then again, it is a budget phone, and compromises have to be made.
Moving to performance, the Smart 20 features the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultimate, something new compared to what we saw on the Smart 10 last year. But in terms of raw performance, expect it to be on the same level.
Interesting fact, the same SoC was on the Infinix Smart 9 back in 2024, which means performance has basically been the same for two years running.

Paired with 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, it is not particularly generous. But with a dedicated microSD card slot supporting up to 2TB, storage should not be a major concern.
Worth mentioning here, the Smart 20 also comes with NFC, which is genuinely rare and impressive at this price point. The Smart 20 also has IP64 dust and splash resistance, which means it can handle light rain and accidental spills no problem.

Another feature worth highlighting is UltraLink. It allows you to make free calls to another compatible Infinix device without needing a cellular network or internet connection, with a range of up to 1KM.
On the camera side, both the main and selfie shooters are 8MP, and just like last time, the phone can record up to 1440p footage at 30FPS, which is crazy impressive for what it costs. But it is not exactly a surprise since we got that last year as well.

The battery has been bumped ever so slightly from 5,000mAh to 5,200mAh, with support for up to 15W charging. But keep in mind that the included charger in the box only offers 10W. So yeah, to get the full 15W speed, you might have to pick up a compatible charger yourself.
This time, Infinix has loaded the Smart 20 with full-fledged Android 16 with XOS 16. Previously, it only shipped with the Go Edition, marking a meaningful upgrade. The operating system is a fairly clean and iOS-inspired UI, though you do expect some ads and bloatware given that it is a budget device.

The Infinix Smart 20 is exactly what you would expect from Infinix’s budget lineup: decent value, clean design, and just enough upgrades to justify the purchase over its predecessor.
The Smart 20 comes with full Android 16, NFC, a new processor, longer battery life, and a new design—respectable upgrades for the price. If the price lands at Rs. 2,000 above the Smart 10, it’s worth considering.
