The Redmi A series has always been a popular choice in the entry and budget category. It is so popular that last year the Redmi A5 was Xiaomi’s best-selling smartphone in Nepal. The Redmi A7 is well on its way to follow a similar trend in 2026. And now, a bigger sibling, the A7 Pro, has made its way into the Nepali market.

It has been quite a while since we have seen a Pro variant in the A series. In fact, the last one was the Redmi A3 Pro, which never officially launched here. So technically, the A7 Pro is the first A-series “Pro” phone to officially launch in Nepal.
There’s a 5G version available worldwide, but Nepal’s getting the 4G variant instead. Let’s check out what the Redmi A7 Pro 4G delivers.
What is the Price of Redmi A7 Pro in Nepal?
The Redmi A7 Pro price in Nepal is Rs. 17,999 for the 4/64GB variant, Rs. 2,000 more than its smaller sibling, the Redmi A7. With prices going up across the phone market, it’s likely the A7 Pro will face a price hike eventually as well.
The phone is available to purchase at authorized Xiaomi stores and retail mobile shops. Just like the A7, Xiaomi is also offering a two-year warranty on the Pro model, pretty impressive for a budget phone, if you ask me.
It was obvious the Redmi A7 Pro wouldn’t be the cheapest phone this year. But before you write it off as just another budget phone with a ‘Pro’ sticker, hear me out.
The A7 and A7 Pro share similar DNA, but the Pro pulls ahead in some meaningful ways. They’re not massive jumps, but for Rs. 2,000 more, you have to decide if those improvements will actually make a difference in your day-to-day use.

Redmi A7 Pro Overview

Starting with the design, the A7 Pro follows the same design language as the A7, a flat plastic body with a minimalistic look. The major difference is the A7 Pro’s slightly thinner pill-shaped camera module, which makes the phone look a bit cleaner in my opinion.
Also, the A7 Pro is 14 grams heavier than the A7, probably because of the bigger battery it packs, which we’ll get to in a moment.
Even with the larger battery, the A7 Pro is 0.1mm thinner than the A7. The phone comes in four colors: Black, Mist Blue, Palm Green, and Sunset Orange.
The rest of the dimensions are also very similar, though the A7 Pro is slightly bigger with a 6.9-inch display compared to the A7’s 6.88 inches.

The Pro uses the same IPS LCD panel as the A7 with HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, which is pretty normal for budget phones, so it’s fine. Brightness sits at 650 nits typical and 800 nits in HBM mode, with DC dimming and TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification.
Under the hood is where things get a bit more interesting. While the A7 Pro runs the same UNISOC T7250 chipset as the standard A7, the memory department takes the first real win for the Pro.
The A7 only came with 3GB of RAM, so the jump to 4GB, while not a massive leap, is a pretty decent upgrade. Here’s what’s really neat: the storage is still 64GB, but it’s now using UFS 2.2 instead of the A7’s eMMC 5.1. You’ll notice snappier read and write speeds when you’re using it day-to-day.

On the camera front, the A7 Pro runs the same setup as the non-Pro model: a 13MP main camera paired with an 8MP front shooter.

The battery is where the A7 Pro really pulls ahead. It packs a massive 6,000mAh unit, 800mAh more than the base A7. That is a meaningful jump, and combined with the same chipset, the A7 Pro should noticeably outlast the A7 on a single charge. Charging, however, remains the same at 15W.
On the software side, the phone ships with Android 16 wrapped in HyperOS 3. Now the 5G variant gets a generous 4 years of Android updates with 6 years of security updates. However, Redmi has not made any such promises for the 4G variant of the A7 Pro.

So, should you just go with the Redmi A7? Look, if you’re really watching your wallet, the A7 is a perfectly fine phone. The A5 before it was one of Nepal’s go-to Xiaomi phones for a reason—it sold like hotcakes and people loved it.
But honestly, if you can squeeze out Rs. 2,000 more, the Redmi A7 Pro is the no-brainer choice. You’re getting more RAM, faster storage, and a noticeably bigger battery for just a bit extra cash. At this price point, that is hard to argue with.
