The Redmi A series has always been a popular choice in the entry and budget category. It is so popular that last year, the Redmi A5 was Xiaomi’s best-selling smartphone of 2025 in Nepal. The Redmi A7 is well on its way to follow a similar trend in 2026. And now, a bigger sibling, the A7 Pro, has made its way into the Nepali market.

It has been quite a while since we have seen a Pro variant in the A series. In fact, the last one was the Redmi A3 Pro, which never officially launched in Nepal. So technically, the A7 Pro is the first A-series Pro phone to officially launch here.
Now, there is a 5G variant available globally; however, Nepal is only getting the 4G variant. Let’s see what the Redmi A7 Pro 4G brings to the table.
What is the Price of Redmi A7 Pro in Nepal?
The Redmi A7 Pro price in Nepal is Rs. 17,999 for the 4/64GB variant, Rs. 2,000 more than its smaller and much more popular sibling, the Redmi A7. And seeing price hikes left and right across the smartphone market, we cannot rule out the A7 Pro facing a similar fate down the line.
The good news is that the phone is already available in Nepal and can be purchased at Xiaomi authorized stores across the country. And just like the A7, Xiaomi is also offering a two-year warranty on the Pro model, pretty impressive for a budget phone, if you ask me.
Now it was obvious that the Redmi A7 Pro was not going to be the most affordable phone this year. And before you dismiss the A7 Pro as just another budget phone with a Pro sticker slapped on it, hear me out.
The A7 and A7 Pro share a lot of the same DNA, but there are some areas where the Pro actually pulls ahead in a meaningful way.
It is not a dramatic difference, but for Rs. 2,000 more, the question is whether those upgrades actually matter in the real world

Redmi A7 Pro Overview

Starting with the design, the A7 Pro follows the same design language as the A7, a flat plastic body with a minimalistic look. The major difference is the A7 Pro’s slightly thinner pill-shaped camera module, which makes the phone look a bit cleaner in my opinion.
It is also comparatively heavier, 14g to be exact, than the Redmi A7, probably because of the massive battery it packs, which we will get into shortly.
But despite the bigger battery, it is actually 0.1mm thinner than the A7. It comes in four colors: Black, Mist Blue, Palm Green, and Sunset Orange.
The rest of the dimensions are also very similar, though the A7 Pro is slightly bigger with a 6.9-inch display compared to the A7’s 6.88 inches.

And just like the A7, the Pro runs an IPS LCD panel with HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, which is what most budget phones offer, so no complaints there. Brightness sits at 650 nits typical and 800 nits in HBM mode, with DC dimming and TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification.
Under the hood is where things get a bit more interesting. While the A7 Pro runs the same UNISOC T7250 chipset as the standard A7, the memory department takes the first real win for the Pro.

The A7 only came with 3GB of RAM, so the jump to 4GB, while not a massive leap, is a pretty decent upgrade. And more impressively, while the storage remains 64GB, it now uses UFS 2.2 instead of eMMC 5.1 on the A7. That means slightly faster read and write speeds in day-to-day use.
On the camera front, the A7 Pro runs the same setup as the non-Pro model: a 13MP main camera paired with an 8MP front shooter.

The battery is where the A7 Pro really pulls ahead. It packs a massive 6,000mAh unit, a whopping 800mAh more than the base A7. That is a meaningful jump, and combined with the same chipset, the A7 Pro should noticeably outlast the A7 on a single charge. Charging, however, remains the same at 15W.
On the software side, the phone ships with Android 16 wrapped in HyperOS 3. Now the 5G variant gets a generous 4 years of Android updates with 6 years of security updates. However, Redmi has not made any such promises for the 4G variant of the A7 Pro.

So, should you settle for the A7? If the budget is truly tight, the A7 is still a solid phone. And its predecessor, the A5, track record of being one of the best-selling Xiaomi phones in Nepal, speaks for itself.
But if you can stretch Rs. 2,000 more, the A7 Pro is simply the smarter buy. More RAM, faster storage, and a noticeably bigger battery for just a little extra — at this price point, that is hard to argue with.
