realme Nepal launched the Note 60 series earlier in March this year. These phones leaned heavily on durability, and everything else wasn’t particularly all that exciting. Their successor, i.e., realme Note 70, isn’t all that different.

With the Note 70, realme greatly improved in one key area that was its major weakness: price. But unfortunately, that too didn’t last long.
What is the Price of the Realme Note 70 in Nepal?
The realme Note 70 price in Nepal is Rs. 16,999 for the 4/64GB variant and Rs. 20,999 for the 4/128GB variant. There is also a new 6/128GB variant priced at Rs. 23,999. Previously, the realme Note 70 started at just Rs. 13,999 for the 4/64GB variant, while the 4/128GB variant cost Rs. 14,999.
Since the Note 70 originally launched with a price difference of just Rs. 1,000 between the two variants, the current Rs. 4,000 gap between the 4/64GB and 4/128GB models came as quite a shock. If you’re planning to buy the realme Note 70, it’s available through all realme-authorized stores across Nepal.
However, now that the phone is decently priced, the not-so-exciting realme Note 70 has suddenly piqued my interest. I’m not saying it’s a head-turner or anything, but it did grab my attention.
So, what’s up with the realme Note 70? Let’s see.

Realme Note 70 Overview
Design and Build
realme Note 70 comes in a “Coastline Design” — a naming that I quite liked, actually. The gilttery, wavy sand-like pattern on the back does remind me of “coastline” indeed. Additionally, there is this “Beach Gold” colour option doubling down on the sandy vibe.
Then there is the “Obsidian Black” option, with the stock smartphone look, of course. Because you gotta appeal to the masses, and not everybody likes sparkles on their phones.
The realme Note 70, like many other budget phones, has that iPhone Pro-like look. However, it has a “Pulse Light” in the place of the third camera. It can glow in nine different colours with two glowing modes, and while it’s mostly there as a talking point, it also serves as a notification indicator.

realme is continuing with its “ArmorShell” shtick, which was a marketing term used to refer to eight design choices that supposedly boosted the phone’s durability in the Note 60 series. However, this time it’s just limited to reinforced aluminium structure, tough corner protection, and foam protection on the screen.
The phone’s tolerance against dust has gone down a notch with an IP54 rating instead of the IP64 on the previous phone. It still boasts MIL-STD-810H compliance for shock resistance.

Display
The display on the realme Note 70 appears to be unchanged from its predecessor. As such, it is a 6.74-inch LCD, stretching HD+ in resolution, offering a refresh rate of up to 90Hz, and a touch sampling rate of up to 180Hz.
Likewise, the phone offers 450 nits typical and 563 nits of peak brightness. Here, I would like to point out that the official specs sheet of the realme Note 70 mentions that it can go 3 nits brighter than the Note 60. Normally, you won’t even notice a difference of 3 nits under normal circumstances, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

The phone continues to feature the “Smart Touch” technology, which allows you to use it even with wet or oily hands. Furthermore, realme is boasting 97% touch accuracy when using the Note 70 in rain and with wet hands, and 98% accuracy with oily hands.

Hardware
Moving on to the hardware side of things, the realme Note 70 comes with the UNISOC T7250 chipset, which is the UNISOC T615, but rebranded. The Note 60 had the T612 chip, which falls slightly behind the T615. So, we can say the silicon on the realme Note 70 is an upgrade, but barely.
In the meantime, similarly priced competition usually opt for MediaTek Helio G81, and the UNISOC T7250 keeps up with that chip pretty comfortably. So, you aren’t making any trade-offs in terms of performance with the realme Note 70.

But there was this one thing I found quite funny: the company was flexing that this chip can handle 60FPS gaming on MLBB for two hours. The thing is, Mobile Legends is a pretty light game, and even budget phones usually offer a 90FPS smoothness option in the game. The point is, handling 60FPS isn’t all that impressive, and highlighting it like that wasn’t really necessary.
As for memory and storage, there are 4/64GB, 4/128GB, and 6/128GB trims. It is capable of expanding the RAM virtually by up to 8GB. On top of that, the phone supports a microSD card of up to 2TB. It even has a dedicated slot for the external storage.
Cameras and Battery
In terms of optics, the realme Note 70 seems to have taken a step back on paper. It comes with a 13MP main sensor and a 5MP front-facing camera. By comparison, the Note 60 featured a 32MP primary shooter, while the selfie camera remains unchanged in resolution.
That said, realme has revealed the sensor sizes on the Note 70, which could mean that the actual camera hardware may have been improved despite the lower megapixel count. However, that is just my assumption.

Keeping everything powered up is a 6,300mAh battery, which is also where we see the biggest upgrade. Note 60 had the standard 5,000mAh cell, so we see an increase of almost 30% in battery capacity. The charging speed has also gone up to 15W. realme Note 70 can also reverse charge other devices at speeds of up to 6W.
Realme Note 70 Price in Nepal and Availability
realme Note 70 price in Nepal is Rs. 16,999 (4/64GB), Rs. 20,999 (4/128GB), and Rs. 23,999 (6/128GB). It is available to purchase at all official stores across the country, both online and offline.
| realme Note 70 | Launch Price | Current Price in Nepal |
|---|---|---|
| 4/64GB | Rs. |
Rs. 16,999 |
| 4/128GB | Rs. |
Rs. 20,999 |
| 4/128GB | – | Rs. 23,999 |
The realme Note 70 offers a slight upgrade in the silicon, a little change in the optics, and a massive jump in the battery department compared to the previous model. However, the biggest change (in the right direction) on this phone is the pricing.
It would have been great if the phone had a slightly better camera or a little faster charging. With those, it would have stood on the same pedestal as the Moto G06 Power or the upcoming Redmi 15C, both solid picks in the price range. Even so, the realme Note 70 still makes a strong case for itself.
