Honor X7e Launches in Nepal with a Massive 7,500mAh Battery

It’s been a little over a week since Honor started teasing its new “दमदार” smartphones. Even before the official reveal, the teasers pointed in one clear direction: the X-series, Honor’s smartphone lineup known for its durability and endurance. As it turns out, my speculation was spot on. The new phones are the Honor X6e and Honor X7e. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at the X7e.

The X7e is a successor to the Honor X7d, which at the time was one of the few phones in Nepal to offer a massive 512GB of storage at a low price. With the X7e, however, some of the specs leave room for questions.

What is the Price of Honor X7e in Nepal?

The Honor X7e had a global launch back in May 2026. More than three months after its global debut, the phone has finally arrived in Nepal, and its pricing is official.

The Honor X7e price in Nepal is Rs. 39,999 for the sole 6/256GB variant. Sadly, there is no 512GB variant this time, unlike the X7d.

As part of the launch offer, Honor is bundling the Honor Choice X7e Active Earbuds with the purchase of the X7e. The phone is also available with 0% EMI and comes with a 6-month extended battery warranty. These launch offers are valid until September 15.

As I mentioned earlier, the Honor X7e directly succeeds the X7d. The X7d may not have been the most impressive phone in terms of specifications, but it made up for that with plenty of storage and a massive battery. However, it also came with a few compromises. The question now is whether the X7e manages to iron them out.

Honor X7e Overview

Compared to last time, the new Honor X7e has definitely gained a point in terms of design. Honor has gotten rid of the bulky square camera module with four cutouts and stuck with a pill-shaped module housing just two camera cutouts instead. This definitely makes the phone look more minimal and premium.

That said, the all-plastic construction keeps it from feeling entirely premium. It’s not like I was expecting anything high-end in the first place, but I was definitely hoping they’d give it better durability. After all, this is an X series smartphone, and the X6 and X7 lines have never really gotten much credit in that department to begin with.

However, to my surprise, the ingress rating has actually dropped to IP64 this time. Last time we had IP65, so the downgrade is a bit disappointing. The same goes for drop protection. Last year the X7d had a 2m drop protection rating. This year it’s down to 1.8m. Not that the phone will suddenly crack and shatter from a 2m drop, but it’s still a step in the wrong direction.

The phone has gotten 0.1mm thicker and now sits at 8.3mm thick, which I still consider thin, given that it packs a massive 7,500mAh battery. They’re also using Si/C tech to cram in that much battery into such little space. Charging has also gotten an upgrade too, from 35W to a respectable 45W, and it even supports reverse wired charging, though only at 7.5W.

The display has gotten smaller this time around too. It’s a 6.61-inch, 120Hz TFT LCD panel, down from the 6.77-inch we saw last year. Sure, the screen is smaller, but with the same HD+ resolution, the pixel density has improved from 261PPI to 266PPI. It’s not a drastic difference, but the display should look a tad sharper, though you’ll likely not notice much of a difference in daily use.

Performance has taken a slight dip. The X7e runs the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra chipset, a downgrade from the X7d’s Snapdragon 685. Don’t get me wrong, the Helio G81 is a decent entry-level SoC. Even popular phones like the Moto G06 Power and Redmi 15C run it. But at its current price, the X7e struggles to offer good value for money.

The memory options aren’t great either. Last year, we got an 8/512GB variant, and that too at just Rs. 31,000. This time, though, it’s a much smaller offering, with only a 6/256GB variant available.

There’s another downgrade in the camera department as well, with just a 50MP main camera this time. For comparison, both the X7c and X7d before it came with a 108MP main sensor. Not that megapixel count alone means much, but it’s still a noticeable step down on paper. The front camera takes another step back, going from an 8MP sensor on the previous model to just 5MP this time.

On the software side, the phone runs Android 16 with MagicOS 10 layered on top.

The specs look decent enough on paper. Compared to the Moto G06 Power, the X7e is a definite upgrade in some areas, especially battery. But when you consider the pricing of the previous X7 series from Honor, things start to look grim.

The X7c and X7d both hovered around the Rs. 25,000 mark, and even then, they struggled to offer compelling value. Now, with the X7e nearing Rs. 40,000, a 4G phone with an HD+ display starts to feel seriously out of place. At this price, those compromises are hard to overlook.
