Moto G06 Power Launched in Nepal with Biggest Battery in Segment

 HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Moto G06 Power price in Nepal is Rs. 18,999 (4/64GB).
  • It features the MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme chipset and a 7,000mAh battery.
  • The screen is a 6.88-inch IPS panel running at a 120Hz refresh rate.

Motorola had a solid run in 2025, especially with releases like the Moto G35 and Moto G05. Fast-forward to 2026, and CG Mobiles, Motorola’s official distributor in Nepal, has launched two new phones: the Moto G57 Power and the Moto G06 Power. Here we will mainly focus on the G06 Power.

For those unfamiliar, Motorola’s “Power” series is primarily focused on battery endurance, typically offering larger batteries and longer battery life than the standard variants.

The Moto G05 last year was really well-liked for good reason. It had Motorola’s signature vegan leather look, offered great bang for your buck, and best of all, that centered punch-hole display, which you don’t see much in budget phones. For a budget phone, it never gave off that cheap vibe. The Rs. 12,000 price tag just made it that much easier to recommend.

The bottom line is that the G05 was genuinely great, so the G06 Power has some big shoes to fill. But here’s the thing—when you set the bar that high, it’s tough to keep climbing. Does the Moto G06 Power disappoint or actually top its predecessor? Let’s dig into the specs and find out.

Motorola Moto G06 Power Overview

The Moto G06 Power keeps things true to form with the vegan leather (silicone polymer) back and plastic frame combo that screams Motorola, so you know exactly what you’re getting. The texture feels great in your hand, resists smudges better, and honestly makes the phone feel more upscale than you’d expect from something this affordable. Next to the G05, the G06 Power is bigger all around—taller, wider, and especially thicker now at 8.8mm.

The bulk comes from that chunky 7,000mAh battery, so the G06 Power is now the first phone you can get for under Rs. 20,000 with this much battery in 2026. Before that, only the Redmi 15 at Rs. 25,000 had it.

That big battery brings the weight up to 220g, which is pretty hefty, and you’ll definitely notice it in your pocket. The charger is still just 18W, same as the G05, so don’t expect to fill up your battery super quickly from empty.

On the bright side, the G06 Power is now more water-resistant with an IP64 rating, which is an upgrade from the G05’s IP54. The phone offers decent protection with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 3, and it’s got a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for unlocking. On the audio front, the G06 Power comes with a stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support.

But here is where things start to fumble. The display now features a water drop notch, compared to the punch hole notch on the G05, which is a significant step backwards. And there’s more bad news. The brightness in HBM mode has also dropped to just 600 nits, down from 1,000 nits last year, so better get ready to squint in direct sunlight.

The only display upgrade is the screen size, now at 6.88 inches with a 120Hz refresh rate. But that is what most budget smartphones offer these days, so it barely counts as a win.

Moving to performance, the G06 Power still runs the MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme SoC, offering similar performance to the popular Unisoc T7250, both very common chips at this price range.

For memory, the G06 Power comes with 4GB RAM paired with 64GB of built-in storage and a dedicated microSD card slot supporting up to 1TB. There are also 8GB RAM variants with 128GB or 256GB storage available globally, but sadly, those are not coming to Nepal.

For the camera, the phone features a 50MP main shooter paired with an 8MP selfie camera, the same setup as last year. Nothing new here as well.

And lastly, another big disappointment comes in the software department. It ships with Android 15, and yes, it is mid-2026, and Android 17 is almost around the corner. The letdown here is that it ships with an Android version from two years ago. At least Motorola’s Hello UI is lightweight and pretty clean, giving you that near-stock Android feel, which is something to appreciate.

The Moto G06 Power retains the legacy of the G05 in the ways that matter most: the iconic vegan leather design, clean near-stock software, and solid build quality are all still here. But this time around, Motorola has clearly shifted focus. Where the G05 was about looking premium on a budget, the G06 Power is all about one thing: battery life.

The trade-offs: the water drop notch, the dimmer display, and Android 15 in mid-2026, are real and worth acknowledging. But if you go in knowing what this phone is built for, you will not be disappointed. It is not trying to be the G05. It is trying to be the phone that outlasts everything else at this price, and it does exactly that.
