realme Note 80 Launching Soon in Nepal With 6,300mAh Battery

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The realme Note 80 price in Nepal starts from Rs. 18,999 (4/64GB).
  • It features a UNISOC T7250 chipset that’s paired with a 6,300mAh battery.
  • The Note 80 comes with an IPS screen with an HD+ resolution.

The Note series from realme has always been about offering the bare minimum while also being a while also being a tough cookie to crack. And for 2026, Realme’s strongest entry in the Note series is almost here in Nepal with the realme Note 80.

Looking at recent launches like the GT 8 Pro, which was one of the most affordable flagships you could buy, and some decent mid-rangers from the P series, I have high hopes for this one. realme has been on a roll lately, and I am hoping that momentum carries over to the entry-level segment as well.

Interestingly, the Note series usually arrives in August. But this time around, the Note 80 launched back in March, five months earlier than usual. We saw something similar happen with the Xiaomi 17T as well, where Xiaomi typically launches the T series in September, but this time surprised everyone with a May debut. It seems like brands are shifting their launch timelines, and Nepal is benefiting from that.

Also worth noting, in the smartphone world, the “Note” branding usually signals a brand’s budget lineup. Redmi Note, Infinix Note, they all follow that tradition. The realme Note 80 is no different.

realme Note 80 Overview

I have never really been a fan of Realme’s phone design. Even their more premium lineup, like the realme 15 Pro, lacked that wow factor. Sadly, the Note 80’s design is nothing we have not seen before.

It features a camera plateau-style design with what looks like a triple camera module. But do not get your hopes up, there is just one actual camera. The second cutout is a flash, and the third is purely for show.

Now, the Note series has always bragged about durability, and the Note 80 carries that torch with an IP54 ingress rating, ArmorShell protection, and Military Grade shock resistance certification. The slogan “Built to Last” is ambitious. Hopefully it holds true.

Flip the phone over, and you are greeted with a 6.74-inch screen, not too big, not too small. But it runs an HD+ resolution on an IPS panel, which is not great. And what I really did not expect was a 90Hz refresh rate instead of the 120Hz that some rivals like the Redmi A7 already offer at this price. 90Hz is not bad for entry-level, but it is starting to feel like a step behind.

The brightness numbers are also not particularly impressive at 450 nits typical and 563 nits in HBM. So you will likely find yourself squinting at the screen in direct sunlight.

Performance, however, is actually decent. The Note 80 runs the Unisoc T7250, the same chip found on the Redmi A7. It is not going to run PUBG at the highest framerates, but it holds its own against entry-level rivals, including the Moto G06 Power with its MediaTek Helio G81. Paired with the chip is 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. There is also a dedicated microSD card slot for buyers who need more space.

The camera, unfortunately, is where things take a turn for the worse. The Note 60 had a respectable 32MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The Note 70 stepped back to a 13MP with f/2.2. And now the Note 80 hits a new low with just an 8MP main sensor at f/2.0. The front camera is a 5MP selfie shooter, the same as it has been since the realme Note 50. The regression here is hard to ignore.

On the battery front, the 6,300mAh unit is decent, but it is not the best in the segment. That title still belongs to the Moto G06 Power with its 7,000mAh unit. Charging is handled by a 15W wired charger included in the box, which will take a while to top up that 6,300mAh cell.

And lastly, the software. The Note 80 ships with Android 15 wrapped in realme UI 6.0. In 2026, Android 15 is already a year old, and launching a new phone with it this deep into the year raises some fair questions. Android 16 exists, so why not put it on here?

Going into this, I had high hopes for the realme Note 80, partly because of how well realme has been performing with their recent launches. But the Note 80 is a reminder that the Note series has always been the bare minimum first, and this year is no different.

The durability credentials, the 6,300mAh battery, and the competitive processor are all genuine positives. But the camera regression, the 90Hz display, and the dated Android 15 make it hard to recommend enthusiastically.

If realme lands the pricing right at Rs. 18,999, the Note 80 could still find its audience, buyers who just need a reliable, tough everyday phone without overthinking the specs. But if the price creeps higher, the conversation gets much harder. realme has proven they can do better.
