Tecno has maintained a steady lineup of entry-level and budget smartphones in Nepal. While the brand did bring two Phantom foldables at a premium price, its launches since then have largely been focused on the budget segment. However, 2026 is different, though. With the Pova Curve 2, Tecno crossed the Rs. 50,000 mark for the first time. The newly launched Spark 50 Pro now enters the market at a similar price point.

Along with the Spark 50 Pro, Tecno also brought in two other smartphones, the Pova 8 and the Camon Slim. But here, we will primarily talk about the Tecno Spark 50 Pro.
What is the Price of Tecno Spark 50 Pro in Nepal?
The Tecno Spark 50 Pro price in Nepal is Rs. 47,999 for the 6/128GB variant. The previous iteration, the Spark 40 Pro, launched at just Rs. 31,799, and that too with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. That’s a price increase of over Rs. 15,000, which is difficult to justify considering the reduced RAM and storage.
While the Spark 40 Pro wasn’t exactly a performance powerhouse, it offered an excellent display, a decent camera, and generous memory for its price.
So, the bar isn’t set particularly high for the Spark 50 Pro. But does it manage to clear it? Let’s find out.

Tecno Spark 50 Pro Overview
Tecno’s Spark lineup has previously borrowed heavily from the design language of flagship Apple and Samsung phones. The Spark 50 series, however, takes a different direction, making it arguably the most distinctive-looking Spark series yet.

Sure, the camera island does bear a striking resemblance to the latest iPhones. But when even flagship Android phones are borrowing the same design language, I can’t really complain. What actually makes it unique is the camera module itself, a horizontal pill-shaped module with another cutout placed right below it.
Apart from that, it’s made entirely from plastic and features an IP68/69 dust and water resistance rating, a massive improvement over the IP64 rating on the Spark 40 Pro.
While the design may have been a massive improvement, the display is a major downgrade. It’s a 120Hz IPS panel with just HD+ resolution. Coming from a 1.5K AMOLED panel offering 440PPI down to this, with the same 6.78-inch size now delivering just 259PPI, calling it a downgrade would be an understatement.
But the display isn’t the only area where Tecno has taken a step back. The Spark 50 Pro also drops the under-display fingerprint sensor for a side-mounted one. Considering side-mounted sensors are usually found on entry-level devices, seeing one on a phone nearing Rs. 50,000 feels like a pretty big compromise.

Performance isn’t spared either. It runs the same MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate processor as the Spark 40 Pro. You’ll find similarly performing chipsets on phones that cost way less, like the Samsung Galaxy A07, or phones that offer far better performance at a similar price, like the Infinix GT 30 Pro.
What’s worse, the new model drops to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, compared to the previous 8GB/256GB configuration. This means the phone could feel noticeably slower in day-to-day use compared to its predecessor, especially when multitasking or running heavier apps.
For optics, it uses a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 sensor, the same one found on the much pricier OnePlus Nord 6. The said sensor promises improved low-light performance compared to typical cameras in its category. So, the photos should come out looking sharp and appealing. Up front, there’s an 8MP selfie camera.

Most raw specs so far have been one downgrade after another. Thankfully, the charging isn’t one of them. You get a massive 6,000mAh battery that supports 60W fast charging, going up to 63% in just 30 minutes. Tecno promises a minimum of 1,900 charging cycles, or at least 6 years of use before notable battery degradation occurs. The phone also includes Hyper, Smart, and Low-Temperature charging modes. Bypass charging can route power directly to the motherboard during heavy use.
Rounding things off, the Spark 50 Pro comes with DTS stereo speakers for a more immersive audio experience. It also ships with Android 16 out of the box, paired with Tecno’s HiOS skin.

Last year, the Spark 40 Pro may have looked like it borrowed heavily from other flagships, but its specs more than made up for that, delivering a genuinely good package for the price. This time, though, things are almost the complete opposite. The Spark 50 Pro looks more premium than ever, but the hardware underneath feels decidedly budget-level.
While the pricing and design might trick you into thinking this is a premium smartphone, don’t be fooled. From the display to the memory configuration, almost everything here has taken a step back from its predecessor, and that’s a hard sell at Rs. 47,999.
