OnePlus Nord 5 was one of the best premium mid-range phones to launch last year, and its successor made its appearance on the world stage in the first half of April 2026. Fast forward to June, and the OnePlus Nord 6 finally made its way into the Nepali market.

The new phone arriving is exciting and all, but I was a bit worried about the price. Especially since the Nord 5 got a price jump. So…
What is the Price of OnePlus Nord 6 in Nepal?
We all know the pricing situation is grim right now. Phones in the Xiaomi T series, Vivo V series, and Samsung Galaxy A50 series were staples in the Rs 70,000 price point and competed with the prime Nord series.
But now, all their latest offerings cost near Rs 90,000 or over, and that is exactly what has happened with the OnePlus Nord 6 as well. We are seeing a significant price jump over its predecessor. As such, the OnePlus Nord 6 price in Nepal is Rs 89,999 (8/256GB) and Rs 1,00,999 (12/512GB).
I know, it’s quite a steep increase, even compared to the Nord 5’s updated pricing. But even in India, the starting price of the OnePlus Nord rose from INR 29,999 to INR 38,999 — a nearly INR 10,000 jump.
The OnePlus Nord 6 is available for purchase at all the authorised stores across Nepal. It seems the pricing situation has taken a toll on importers as well, because no offers are being run.

That was the pricing, and it’s worrying for sure. But we have seen similar things happen across all brands, so I built a tolerance towards price hikes. There are other things that worry me.
OnePlus Nord 6 brought many upgrades over its predecessor, but it cut some corners too. “Where, though? What corners?” We’ll discuss all that in further detail in this article. Let’s go!
OnePlus Nord 6 Overview
I wasn’t really a fan of the OnePlus Nord 5 design, and not because it was bad. It was sleek and clean-looking, but for me, it resembled the Galaxy A56 a bit too closely. And I did not hold back from complaining about it. I mentioned it in the coverage article and also in the review.
Thankfully, they have stepped away from the pill-shaped camera island on the corner kind of design to a look closer to the brand’s flagship offerings. I can easily get behind that. All iPhones have a similar look, almost all Samsung phones have a similar look, and I don’t mind all OnePlus phones looking the same.

As for the display, we have a slightly smaller 6.78-inch AMOLED panel (vs 6.83 on Nord 5) and an HBM brightness 400 nits higher at 1,800 nits. However, the headline-grabbing feature is the 165Hz panel, which isn’t there just to inflate the specs sheet.

OnePlus ships the Nord 6 with the “Adaptive Frame Booster” feature, which can boost in-game frame rate to 165 FPS despite games not supporting such high frame rates natively. This isn’t a new feature for OnePlus, though, as the Nord 5 also came with this feature. However, in our testing, this feature only boosted the frame rate up to 120Hz.

Maybe the frame boost up to 144Hz had not rolled out when I tested the phone. But I would have only gotten an average frame rate of about 90FPS if it were not for the “Adaptive Frame Booster” feature.
So I can at least vouch that the feature works. Hopefully, I will get to experience what 165 FPS gaming on a phone feels like if the OnePlus Nord 6 arrives for the review.
That said, the phone is backed by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 for performance and game handling. The RAM is still an LPDDR5X unit, while the storage has been upgraded to UFS 4.1 from UFS 3.1. We will are getting both 8/256GB and 12/512GB variants, just like the last time in Nepal.
The battery is where we, the Nepali audience, may be disappointed because there are two different OnePlus Nord 6s in the world — the Indian variant with a 9,000mAh battery, and the global variant with a big, but not as big, 7,500mAh battery. We are getting the latter variant in Nepal.

As for charging, we are looking at 80W of SUPERVOOC, 13.5W PD, and 55W PPS support, which is the same as the Indian version. But we are getting the short end of the stick on reverse charging (wired) speed as well. We will have to settle for just 6.5W of reverse charging support, which is over four times slower than the 27W support the phone is offering across the southern border.
Talking of the cameras, this is where the corners have been cut. Well, technically, it seems like a shift in focus rather than cutting corners.
Firstly, the selfie camera has straight up gone down in resolution, from 50MP to 32MP. The rear camera setup looks unchanged, with 50MP main and 8MP ultrawide. But you need to dig below the surface to see the changes.

The main camera now uses the Sony LYTIA-600 sized at 1/1.953”, replacing the larger 1/1.56” Sony LYT-700 from the Nord 5 — roughly a 25% drop in sensor size. Similarly, the ultrawide sensor has switched from the OmniVision OV08D10 to the OV08F. While both share the same 1/4-inch size, the OV08D10 appears to be a more premier option.
So, the camera department hasn’t particularly been “stonks”. But it appears to be a deliberate choice, as OnePlus seems to be transitioning into a gamer-centric brand. This is further backed by the decision to focus on the “6-axis” gyroscope OnePlus is providing in the Nord 6.

So, as it stands, OnePlus is in a transition phase to a gamer-centric phone, and Nord 6 is one of the prime examples of that. It comes with a 165Hz display, which isn’t just for the number. It allows you to play games at 165 FPS, which is probably one of the first times in the smartphone world. This transition comes in exchange for camera quality, which was already mediocre on the Nord 5. So, there are some sacrifices with the OnePlus Nord 6.
As for how it impacts the Nepali market? It is one of the performance-centric phones in the segment for sure, but it’s not the only one anymore. With POCO’s return to Nepal, bringing devices like the POCO X8 Pro Max to the table, you will look to that side for sure. Then there is the Xiaomi 17T, which may not be as capable as the Nord or POCO, but it is still potent enough — and it has wayyyyy better cameras.
All in all, the OnePlus Nord 6 faces much tougher competition compared to last year. But with OnePlus’s OS and software tricks, it does maintain its appeal.
