It has been quite a while since the Camon series from Tecno set foot in Nepal. In fact, the last Camon series I remember was the Camon 20 back in 2023. Since then, there have been a bunch of Camon phones from Tecno. But sadly, none of them ever entered Nepal. That changes now with the Tecno Camon Slim.

The Camon Slim is definitely a unique phone and a bit out of line for Tecno when it comes to the Camon series. Why? I’ll explain all that. But lets discuss pricing first.
What is the Price of Tecno Camon Slim in Nepal?
While the Tecno Camon Slim was unveiled globally, only select African countries like Ghana and Zimbabwe have seen it launch. It is also expected to arrive in Asian markets like India and Pakistan soon.
And since the phone has not even made its way into Asia yet, the pricing can be anything. In Ghana, the phone starts at ₵4,199, and converting that to NPR comes to about Rs. 56,000. So, based on that, while also accounting for the current market situation, the all-time high dollar price, and transportation costs, the Tecno Camon Slim price in Nepal could land at Rs. 54,999 for the 8/128GB variant and Rs. 59,999 for the 8/256GB variant.
For me, this pricing seems a bit too much for a 4G smartphone. But we can be hopeful with Tecno, as some of its previous offerings have been quite aggressive. We’ll know for sure when the phone officially lands in Nepal.
Now, when I said the Camon Slim came a bit out of the blue, here’s what I meant. Ever since the Camon series launched, Tecno has only stuck with the regular numbered lineup: Camon 20, Camon 30, Camon 40, and so on.
But last year, Tecno introduced slim models for both the Spark and Pova series with the Spark Slim and Pova Slim. So, it was only a matter of time before the Camon series got its own Slim model.
Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s see what the phone actually has to offer.

Tecno Camon Slim Overview

Starting with what the phone’s name actually represents, slim. While the Camon Slim is just 6.4mm thick, it’s actually the thickest among both the Pova Slim and Spark Slim. But to Camon’s credit, 6.4mm is still crazy thin compared to what’s available out there. And given its curved edges, the phone should definitely feel the part as well.
The design looks pretty familiar, especially compared to what we’ve seen Apple do with the iPhone Air and its raised camera plateau. But the eye-catching difference here is that there are what look like two cameras on either side of the raised camera plateau, giving it that classic Tecno Slim look we’ve already seen on the Spark Slim and Pova Slim.

And even compared to them, the Camon Slim has its own personality with 354 programmable Matrix Mini LEDs. It’s not a new technology by any means, as Infinix recently launched the Note 60 Pro with a similar LED setup. Sure, it’s just a gimmick, but I definitely enjoyed playing some games on the Note 60 Pro. Hopefully, you can play some unique games or create some fun art using the LEDs.
The ingress rating also quite surprised me. It supports an IP68/IP69 rating, and surprisingly, it’s hands down the best ingress rating we’ve seen on a thin phone so far, considering even the Galaxy S25 Edge and iPhone Air only have an IP68 rating.

And what the S25 Edge and iPhone Air even struggle with is offering a decent-sized battery. The Camon Slim nails it with a 5,600mAh unit. Sure, it’s not the 6,000mAh+ battery we’ve seen become more and more common, but given its thickness, I’m not complaining.
And if that’s not enough, the phone also supports 60W wired charging.
And just like how the Camon Slim’s design, build, and battery impressed me, so did the display. It’s an AMOLED panel, and I guess there are no surprises there since the phone is expected to cost more than Rs. 50,000. But what is more impressive is that it’s a 1.5K resolution display with a 144Hz refresh rate. That’s something even some flagships don’t offer.

And from the specs alone, it looks like Tecno is using the same display found in the Pova Slim and Spark Slim. It’s got the same resolution and the same 6.78-inch screen size. But what only the Camon Slim offers is 2160Hz PWM dimming, so it should be a bit easier on your eyes.
So, till now, things have been fine. But performance is where things quickly start to fall apart with the MediaTek Helio G200. It’s not a bad SoC by any means. In fact, it’s one of the better-optimized 4G chipsets. But looking at the expected price and the fact that it’s still a 4G chipset, things just don’t match up. Buyers and tech enthusiasts alike may find the phone a bit underwhelming at first glance.
Apart from the SoC, the phone comes with 8GB RAM paired with either 128GB or 256GB of storage. As for Nepal, we’re not sure which variant will arrive, or maybe both.

Now, being so thin, one of the major compromises, apart from the battery, had to be the camera. With such a small form factor, it’s physically impossible to fit a large camera sensor. But it’s not that bad either. The Camon Slim comes with a 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor, the same one found in the OnePlus Nord 6.
I’m not saying the photos the Camon Slim takes will be as good, given that the processor can’t deliver the same level of image processing. But it’s a good sign that they haven’t compromised that much on the main camera. On the front, there is a 32MP selfie shooter.
Lastly, the software, which isn’t Tecno’s best. But it does come with the latest Android 16 with HiOS 16.2 on top, and it also gets three major Android upgrades.

The Tecno Camon Slim feels like another smartphone that was a banger value for money last year, the Infinix Hot 60 Pro+. Everything from the display, endurance, and design, especially its thinness, feels like a premium device.
And then there is the processor, which falls short. But what made the Hot 60 Pro+, which also ran the same processor, so great was that the phone was priced at Rs. 26,999 when it launched. The Tecno Camon Slim, with its expected pricing north of Rs. 50,000, makes it instantly a turn-off for anyone who expects the most out of their phone in terms of performance.
However, the Camon Slim does have its own perks. For instance, the mini-LED design is quite interesting, and I am looking forward to seeing how the LYT-600 performs, especially since a much more expensive phone like the Nord 6 features it. Ultimately, if you prioritize a sleek design, excellent display, and solid durability over raw power, the Camon Slim might be worth keeping an eye on. But if you are all about that raw power, better look elsewhere.
