OnePlus, despite being a globally respected brand, had lost its footing in Nepal due to ambitious pricing and delayed launches. However, judging by the company’s recent strides, it’s clear they are working to turn things around.
And the OnePlus Nord 5, along with the Nord CE 5, might just be the step that helps them regain full balance in the market.
What is the Price of OnePlus Nord 5 in Nepal?
OnePlus Nord 5 is still an under wrap product — here, and everywhere else in the world. Hence, the pricing of the phone is still unknown.
The launch date of the phone, however, has been made public. The upcoming OnePlus phone will be official on 8 July 2025 in India — and in Nepal too! From what’s available, it appears the launch will be a Daraz exclusive.
Pricing-wise, some Indian sources are expecting to fall around INR 30–35,000, which would convert to around Rs. 48–56,000 in Nepal. But then, the OnePlus Nord 4 costs Rs. 63,999 and Rs. 69,999, depending on the variant. So, I don’t think we will get this phone at the Indian price equivalent.
On top of that, the Nord 5 is looking to be an overall upgrade over its predecessor, which is great, but it also means a slimmer chance of a price cut. What I am trying to get at is that the OnePlus Nord 5 might have a higher price tag. Perhaps, Rs. 68,999, and Rs. 74,999 for the 8/256GB and 12/512GB variants.
As I said earlier, OnePlus went a bit off track in recent years due to bad pricing and a disorderly launch schedule. The pricing has been worked out to a large extent. For instance, the OnePlus 13R was significantly better than its predecessor. (Rs. 76,999 vs. Rs. 90,999) Similar story for Nord 4 too — for context, the OnePlus Nord 3 cost Rs. 75,999.
Now it seems timely phone launches are also being focused on. There was a seven-month gap between the international and local launch of the OnePlus Nord 4. But for Nord 5 — it’s on the SAME Day! Nice.
Alright, enough talk. Let’s discuss the OnePlus Nord 5 further in this article.

OnePlus Nord 5 Overview
Design
The OnePlus Nord 5’s design is identical to that of the Samsung Galaxy A56, and Redmi A5 even. All of these phones have a pill-shaped camera island with a very minimal difference i.e. the placement of the flashlight. Both phones have it beside the camera pill, while OnePlus has its flash inside the island.
This design uniformity begs the question — is it just the case of “Oooh I am copying this design”? Or do these companies collectively decide what same kind of design they want to pump out? Or something even wilder, like one large company behind the curtains that designs phones for these brands and they are slacking?
The point is, I don’t like it when all the phones look the same. I would like to look at a phone and be able to tell what brand it is.
Besides that, OnePlus has ditched the unibody metal design they resurrected last time in favour of the industry-standard glass sandwich. Unsurprising choice there, considering that metal interfered with the 5G network and resulted in the phone heating faster too.
It appears the phone will be available in White, Grey, and Blue shades, and will have decent ingress and water protection with an IP65 rating.

Display
For display, the phone will have an AMOLED panel with flat edges. The company mentions that it will be a panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and nothing other than that.
But we can still expect, 10-bit colour depth, 1.5K resolution stretching 1,260 x 2,800 pixels, and Gorilla Glass protection on top. The word on the screen size is 6.83 inches diagonally, and it might support wet and greasy touch with OnePlus’ Wet Touch technology.
Performance
Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is the silicon of choice this time. The architecture of this processor is the same as the 7+ Gen 3 we saw on Nord 4, just a few notches more powerful. So, the computing side of things is looking to be solid.
While there are rumours of this phone being available in up to four variants. However, Nepal will be getting just two variants as per a company official. The OnePlus Nord 5 will apparently come in 8/256GB and 12/512GB trims here, which sounds good enough for me.
Now… the battery is a bit hard to tell. The Indian variant has a monstrous 6,600mAh cell, while the rest of the globe will be getting 5,200mAh. The story is similar for Nord CE5 as well. However, OnePlus Nepal is using promotional materials for the Indian variant of CE5, which would hint that Nepal will be getting a larger number. But we will have to wait and see.
Charging-wise, the phone will supposedly juice up at speeds of up to 80W through a wire. No mention of wireless charging, and I don’t expect it either. 80W of wired charging is good enough for me, but will the charger be included in the box? Once again, we will have to wait and see.
Other than that, OnePlus has revealed the Nord 5 will be housing a vapour chamber with a heat dissipation area of 7,300 mm2.
Cameras
The cameras seem to be one of the main focuses of OnePlus for the fifth iteration of the highest member in the Nord series this time. To quote the company’s own words, they stole the sensor from the “OnePlus 13 series” and “a 2025 Ultra” for primary and selfie cameras, respectively.
I don’t condone stealing, but if it means consumers get better products, then feel free to steal as much as you like! Anyhow, both of the cameras are 50MP units. The main sensor is Sony LYT-700 and the selfie snapper is coupled with Samsung JN5.
And the way OnePlus said “a 2025 Ultra”, I initially thought it was Galaxy S25 Ultra, but apparently not. It is Xiaomi 15 Ultra instead, which uses this JN5 sensor for its ultrawide camera.
Back to the OnePlus Nord 5’s camera, one of the key highlights this time is the ability to take 4K 60FPS footage from the back as well as the front. So, cheers to that.
Software
Now, for the software, we are looking at the OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15. Based on my experience reviewing the OnePlus Nord 4, I found the software experience to be a bit meh compared to the company’s flagship offerings. It was a bit more bloatware-prone, and the UI didn’t look as clean either.
Hopefully, that’s not the case this time. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it is either. And as for futureproofing, we are probably looking at four years of Android updates, while the security patches we will receive are still unknown.
OnePlus Nord 5 Price in Nepal and Availability
The OnePlus Nord 5 will go official on 8 July 2025 in Nepal. Until then, we are expecting its price to start at Rs. 68,999.
OnePlus Nord 5 | Price in Nepal |
---|---|
8/256GB | Rs. 68,999 |
12/512GB | Rs. 74,999 |
OnePlus Nord 5 could be one of the best offerings in its pricing, with its solid set of hardware. Highlights so far include a 144Hz display, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, 50MP main and selfie camera with Sony and Samsung sensors, and a massive 6,600mAh battery with 80W fast charging.
The foundation is looking solid already, which with OnePlus’ improving pricing could propel the phone to be a no-brainer choice. But it’s far from official, so let’s hold our breaths and on to our hopes.
