OnePlus Nord 3 5G Overview

Design

The Nord 3 5G features a simple design with a plastic frame and Dragontrail-protected display that fits flat within the bezels. OnePlus claims this provides a seamless viewing experience.

The phone also features OnePlus’s iconic alert slider which users have praised them for. The phone comes with 3 cameras but only has 2 camera rings. They’ve managed to fit two camera lenses into a single housing for cleaner looks.

The phone is IP54 dust and water-resistant and being only 8.12mm in thickness, it has a sleek profile and OnePlus has also claimed a 93.5% Screen-to-body ratio which is pretty impressive.

Display

The phone features a 6.74-inches 1240 x 2772 resolution 120Hz display. It’s what OnePlus calls a Fluid AMOLED display with a 1000Hz touch response. The display can reach 1450 nits of peak brightness and has a 40-120Hz adaptive dynamic frame rate.

The phone has support for HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos which should make media consumption a pleasant experience. Oh yeah, there’s also an in-display optical fingerprint for security.

Hardware

It comes with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 and Mali G710 MC10 GPU. The Dimensity 9000 is an octa-core processor with 1×3.05 GHz Cortex-X2, 3×2.85 GHz Cortex-A710, and 4×1.80 GHz Cortex-A510.

OnePlus has added a huge 4129.8 sq. mm VC cooling system in the phone and the phone is available in 8/128GB and 16/256GB configurations in Nepal. The phone is Wi-Fi 6 capable, supports NFC, and has an IR blaster.

Camera

The Nord 3 features a triple-camera setup. The main 50MP f1.8 camera is an IMX890 sensor which OnePlus used in their flagship OnePlus 11 as well.

The 8MP ultrawide camera may not be the best on paper given the pricing of the phone, but will come in handy. Oneplus have cut the angle to 112° to get photos with less warping and distortion. The tertiary camera is a 2MP macro shooter. You can shoot up to 4K@60fps with the primary camera.

For selfies, there’s a 16MP f2.4 shooter with support for only 1080p@30fps videos. It would’ve been better with a 1080p@60fps capability but at least it has gyro-EIS support.

Battery and OS

The Nord 3 5G comes with a 5000mAh dual-cell battery and supports OnePlus’s 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging from the Type-C port.

They have claimed a 1–60% charge in just 15 minutes. The phone comes with Android 13 out of the box with OxygenOS 13.1.
