OnePlus’ semi-flagship offering, the OnePlus 13R, was one of the best phones at its price. However, it has now seen a price hike, over a year after its launch.

What is the Price of OnePlus 13R in Nepal?
The OnePlus 13R arrived in Nepal in the latter part of February, just two weeks after the launch of the OnePlus 13. Talking about the price, it launched at Rs 76,999 for the sole 12/256GB variant.
Now, over a year later, it sees a Rs 7,000 hike, bringing its effective price in Nepal to Rs 83,999 (12/256GB).
While price increases for recently launched phones have been more common, it’s a bit surprising to see a similar adjustment applied to a year-old device that has already been succeeded.
That said, there are likely multiple factors which I am not familiar with due which the price went up, but still, the timing makes the increase feel a bit unusual.
Anyway, the OnePlus 13R is available for purchase at all authorised stores across Nepal in full cash as well as on 12-month EMI through Goodwill Finance. Also, OnePlus Nepal is still offering the official 100W charger at just Rs 999, which typically costs Rs 4,400.
Let’s see what the OnePlus 13R has to offer.

OnePlus 13R Overview
Design
Like its recent predecessors, the OnePlus 13R takes much of its design inspiration from its flagship sibling. As such, this phone has a circular camera module aligned slightly near the edge.
Some notable visible differences are its overall flat design approach and the lack of a Hasselblad logo on the back.
It is available in two colour choices: Astral Trial and Nebula Noir. As the name suggests, the former option has a star trail-like pattern on the back. Meanwhile, the latter is black with a bit of grainy texture.

Given that it is a semi-flagship offering, it does not boast the IP69 or IP68 rating like the OnePlus 13. Instead, it is limited to a respectable IP65 rating only.
Display
On the front, the OnePlus 13R has a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel stretching 1.5K (1,264 x 2,780 pixels) in resolution with 450PPI pixel density.
In terms of brightness, it is pretty much the same as its flagship counterpart reaching a peak brightness of 4,500 nits and capping out at 1,600 nits on HBM. Likewise, it offers a 1 to 120Hz refresh rate, 100% P3 colour coverage and 10-bit colour depth as well.

You also get 2,160Hz PWM dimming and Aqua Touch 2.0 support on this device. The latter feature gives you undisturbed touch responsiveness even when your hands are covered in water, oil, or gloves.
Hardware
Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the OnePlus 13R packs the Qualcomm flagship chipset of the previous year i.e. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. While the processor might be a few year old at this point, it is still very potent.

In the meantime, the phone comes in 12/256GB and 16/512GB configurations (only the former is available in Nepal). Here, the memory and storage are LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0 respectively.
Similarly, the OnePlus 13R has a large 6,000 mAh battery as its powerhouse and supports up to 80W SUPERVOOC charging.

Cameras
This phone also has a triple camera setup on the back just like its flagship companion. However, instead of a 50MP ultrawide, this one only has an 8MP one.
The other two cameras are still 50MP units but use different sensors. The main camera features the Sony LYT-700 sensor, while the telephoto camera is equipped with the S5KJN5 sensor — the same thing used in the ultrawide camera of the OnePlus 13.

Moving to the front camera, we get a 16MP snapper for selfies and facial biometrics.
You also get all the software magic like adding details, ridding motion blurs and reflections, and so on.
Software and Features
The OnePlus 13R boots on Oxygen 15.0 (based on Android 15) — the lightest-ever OnePlus software pack. This version of OxygenOS brings the “Intelligent Search” feature, where in your phone understands information from files and notes stored on it and lets you search for it using prompts.

The OnePlus 13R also gets features like Circle to Search, text composition and rewriting, a Dynamic Island-like notification portal, “O+ Connect” to seamlessly share files with iPhones, “BeaconLink” to call over short-range through Bluetooth even when in the absence of a cellular network, and more.

The OnePlus 13R is last year’s semi-flagship phone with an older flagship processor, an enormous battery, and a decent set of cameras. The phone marked the start of OnePlus Nepal’s aggressive pricing arc.
But sadly, the global RAM shortage and its effects also got the best of this phone. With the amount of time it has been since the launch of this phone along with the increased price, it has surely lost it’s edge in the market.
However, even if you do get it, it will serve you just fine, as it was and still is a very good phone. If you want to find out more about the OnePlus 13R, then do check out our full review below:
