The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro arrived in Nepal as Nothing’s answer to the premium mid-range segment. However, its pricing was never aggressive enough to win over consumers. Now, things have gotten even worse. The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro has received its first price hike in Nepal, and quite a significant one!

What is the Price of Nothing Phone (4a) Pro in Nepal?
Even though Nothing announced the Phone (4a) and the Pro model at the same time, only the standard Phone (4a) was available to purchase in Nepal for a very long time. In fact, the Phone (4a) already received a price hike, but the (4a) Pro was nowhere to be seen.
The (4a) Pro eventually launched at Rs. 86,999 for the sole 12/256GB variant. But Nothing has now revised the pricing. The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro price in Nepal is now Rs. 93,999 (12/256GB) in Nepal, marking a Rs. 7,000 increase over its launch price.
Looking back at the Nothing Phone (3a) and the Phone (3a) Pro, they both had the same processor, which is something we have seen companies do with their base and Pro variants of a smartphone lineup before. However, this approach made the Phone (3a) an excellent value price-to-performance-wise, while the same couldn’t quite be said for the Phone (3a) Pro.
To justify the higher price, Nothing had equipped the Phone (3a) Pro with a periscope telephoto camera, a feature that was missing on the standard Phone (3a). This year, however, that trend seems to be changing for the better.
How exactly? Let’s dive in and find out.

Nothing Phone (4a) Pro Overview
The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro introduces something we haven’t seen on a Nothing smartphone before: an aluminum back and aluminum frame, replacing the iconic transparent design. However, a few remnants of the transparent aesthetic remain around the camera plateau, which seems to be the talking point in the smartphone industry right now.
This plateau houses a triple-camera setup arranged in a rather unusual way. But then again, it still looks a lot more symmetrical than the design atrocity we saw on the Nothing Phone (3). The Glyph Matrix also makes a comeback on the Phone (4a) Pro, featuring 137 individually addressable mini-LEDs, behaving similarly to the one found on the Nothing Phone (3).

It’s also the slimmest Nothing phone yet, measuring just 7.9mm in thickness. And just like the Nothing Phone (4a), the Pro variant also adopts the new button configuration, with volume rocker and power button on the right and Essential Key on the left.
The display looks very impressive. The resolution has been upgraded to 1.5K from 1080p, which was much needed. It’s an AMOLED panel, so colors should be vibrant and accurate. And with a 144Hz refresh rate, the UI and visuals should feel buttery smooth.
Nothing has also improved things in the protection department, offering Gorilla Glass 7i along with an IP65 rating. Sure, IP65 isn’t the most impressive rating out there, but seeing Nothing upgrade its semi-premium lineup from Panda Glass to Gorilla Glass is definitely a welcome change.
Last year’s situation was straightforward: both the (3a) and (3a) Pro shared the same chipset, making the regular (3a) the smarter buy. The Pro variant wasn’t bad, but it existed mainly for people who wanted good cameras.
This year is different. The (4a) Pro steps up with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, while the (4a) uses the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. This time, the phone is only available with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage in Nepal. I would have loved to see an 8GB variant with a lower price tag arrive, but alas!
Battery capacity remains the same across both the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro at 5,400mAh, but that’s the Indian version. We are getting the international variant, which is capped at a respectable 5,080mAh. Sadly, wireless charging is still missing.

For optics, the 50MP main camera and 8MP ultrawide remain unchanged. However, the 50MP periscope telephoto can now zoom up to 3.5x optically. That said, there are a few compromises. The sensor size has been reduced to 1/2.75″ from 1/1.95″, and the aperture now sits at ƒ/2.88, a noticeable downgrade from ƒ/2.6.

There are also a few other disappointments. Despite using the 7 Gen 4, the Phone (4a) Pro can only record up to 4K at 30fps. For comparison, the Vivo V70, which runs the same chipset, supports 4K video at 60fps, putting the Phone (4a) Pro at a slight disadvantage.
Lastly, Nothing OS continues to be one of the cleanest Android experiences around, with minimal bloatware and an option to toggle into a very minimalistic design. The Phone (4a) Pro ships with Android 16 layered with Nothing OS 4.1. Software support includes three years of Android upgrades and six years of security patches.

The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro is a much more complete smartphone than its predecessor. The premium aluminum build, upgraded display, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, and clean Nothing OS together make it a compelling option in the upper mid-range segment.
However, this time, I don’t know if Nothing grew too confident with its 177% YoY growth or faced the consequences of the ongoing market volatility a bit too harshly; the brand absolutely fumbled the pricing. The launch price was already high, and now the recent Rs. 7,000 price hike has made the competition significantly tougher. At Rs. 93,999, buyers can now consider several alternatives that offer faster charging, larger batteries, or more capable hardware for similar money.
For a cheaper price tag, you can get the Xiaomi 17T with a superior camera setup and better hardware at Rs. 89,999. For the same price as 17T, you can get something like the OPPO Reno15, which offers the same chipset and similar camera setup as the (4a) Pro. On top of this, the Reno15 gives you 512GB of storage along with a bigger battery and faster charging.
So, the only reason I could see anyone going for Nothing Phone (4a) Pro is if they value Nothing’s clean software and unique looks more than pure specs and value that other phones are offering.
