HIGHLIGHTS
- Ather Rizta price in Nepal starts at Rs. 2.95 Lakhs and goes up to Rs. 3.84 Lakhs.
- It is designed as a family-focused electric scooter.
- Rizta is now available in two variants: Rizta S and Rizta Z.
Ather launched the Rizta Z as a well-rounded electric scooter with a familiar design, an efficient powertrain, and good ergonomics. However, its pricing made it less accessible and limited its appeal. To address that, Ather Nepal now introduces the Rizta S, a more affordable option for a wider audience. But, could this have made a bigger impact if it had arrived earlier?

After spending seven years refining the performance-focused 450 series, Ather Energy stepped into a new space with a family-oriented electric scooter that dropped the “450” badge. And, that move paid off. The Rizta quickly climbed into the top three scooters in India by sales, proving there was strong demand beyond performance enthusiasts. So naturally, its arrival in Nepal always felt inevitable.
Following a year of anticipation since 2024, Vaidya Energy, Ather’s official distributor in Nepal, introduced the Ather Rizta at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025. We expected the Rizta to be Ather’s most accessible and mass-market product. But, Vaidya Energy positioned it quite elite. In their defense, the initially launched Rizta was the top variant (Rizta Z) of the Rizta lineup and came with a bigger battery and fully loaded in features.
While the Rizta crossed the 1 lakh sales milestone within its first year in India, that success has not translated as smoothly into the Nepali market, despite its premium appeal and positioning. To address this, Ather Nepal has introduced a more affordable variant, the Rizta S. Let’s break it down, starting with the price.
What is the Price of Ather Rizta in Nepal?
The Ather Rizta price in Nepal now starts at Rs. 2,94,900 for which you can get the entry-level, S variant. Furthermore, the Rizta Z variant price in Nepal is Rs. 3,83,500.
The S variant of Rizta is the most affordable Ather product right now while the Z variant’s price sits very close to the 450X which is the flagship Ather product for Nepal. On top of battery capacity, the S variant is stripped off of many features to bring the price down by nearly Rs. 90,000.
Enough about the price, let’s move to the technical parts. You can swiftly move to the breakdown section of the two variants of Ather Rizta or go chronologically starting from the specs.

Ather Rizta Overview
Design
The Ather Rizta marks a noticeable departure from the sharper, edgier design language seen in the 450 series. Instead, it embraces a softer, more approachable look with rounded and oval elements. It’s a deliberate shift, and credit goes to Ather’s design team for striking that fine balance between a familiar, friendly form and a contemporary persona.
At the front, the Rizta features a horizontally laid-out Headlight cluster that neatly integrates DRLs and turn indicators. Mounted onto a boxy front apron, it gives off a subtle utilitarian vibe. This isn’t just a matter of aesthetics, though. The design hints at functionality throughout the scooter.

That said, the headlight setup has sparked some concern among users on the Ather Community forum, particularly about reduced visibility in cornered areas. It’s a valid point and something Ather could work on. Above that, the handlebar area remains minimalistic, save for the rear-view mirrors mounted cleanly on top.
Looking at the side profile, the boxy side panels may seem simple, but they serve a purpose. This chunkier design supports a new sub-frame that holds a significantly longer seat (900 mm). The result is not just a comfier ride for two, but also increased storage. The Under-Seat compartment holds a massive 34-liter storage, and is one of the biggest in this segment. For a reference, Bajaj Chetak has the largest underseat storage, measuring at 35 liters.

From an ergonomic standpoint, the Rizta gets it right. The wide and flat floorboard comes with a non-slip texture and subtle contouring, which helps with grip and water drainage, especially during the monsoon season. And, the scooter rides on standard 12-inch Alloy Wheels with a disc brake up front and a drum brake at the rear.

The rear design neatly mirrors the front, featuring a bar-style taillight that aligns well with the headlight’s horizontal theme. There’s also a practical backrest for the pillion but it is available only on the Z variant. One small but thoughtful detail is the rear wheel cover on both sides, likely doubling as side mudguards.
Ather offers variant-specific splash of color options and dual tones, with the S variant coming in Red, Blue, Grey, White, while the Z variant, on top of those color, include Yellow and Green options as well.
Instrument Cluster
On the instrumentation front, Rizta S features a pretty minimal setup with 7-inch DeepView display, while the Z variant comes equipped with a 7-inch full-color TFT Touchscreen.
The TFT unit on the Rizta Z is better responsive, bright, and easy to navigate, thanks to a higher grade processor and 4-way joystick controller, respectively.

Also, the instrument cluster on the S variant neither features touchscreen capabilities nor the comprehensive Ather Connect pack.
Z variant, on the other hand, with the Ather Connect pack supports features like Google Maps, Document Storage, App Features, Inter-City Trip Planner, Ride Stats, Live Location Sharing, and the Ping My Scooter function. It’s easily one of the most advanced dashboards in the segment.
Performance
Both variants of the Rizta Z runs on a 4.3 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), which produces a max power of 5.8 PS and 22 Nm of torque. That gives it a respectable top speed of 80 kmph, which is suited for its role as a family scooter.
But the variants differ when it comes to their battery pack. The S variant is equipped with a smaller 2.9 kWh of Lithium ion battery pack which, according to IDC claim, supports a range of 123 km. However, the reported true range of the Rizta S is somewhere in the ballpark of 105 km.
Moreover, this particular variant does not feature any fast charging capabilities, taking 8 hours and 30 minutes to fully charge while charging it to 80% takes around 6 hours and 30 minutes.
On the other hand, the Z variant packs a larger 3.7 kWh battery, giving it an IDC-rated range of 159 km. Realistically, you’ll be looking at Ather’s claimed 125 km True Range.
It can be charged via a portable AC charger Charging but the Z variant comes with the 700W Ather Duo Charger, which takes around 4 hours and 30 minutes to get from 0 to 80% and 5 hours and 45 minutes for a full charge.

In terms of more performance-centric features, both variants of Rizta include three riding modes: SmartEco, Eco and Zip Mode (for quicker performance). It sprints from 0 to 40 kmph in just 4.7 seconds, placing it among the quickest in the family-oriented segment. But the speed is not very thrilling as both variants of the Rizta top out at only 80 kmph.
Additionally, Rizta Z also gets Ride Assist features which enables Skid Control and AutoHold.
Additional Details
The Ather Rizta comes equipped with a Telescopic Fork up front and a Rear Monoshock, handling suspension duties with a balanced approach. While this type of setup often leans towards the stiffer side, a little softer feel is obviously there to suit its family-oriented nature.
When it comes to dimensions, the Rizta stretches 1850 mm in length, 750 mm in width, and stands 1140 mm tall. It rides on a 1285 mm wheelbase.
With a ground clearance of 165 mm, it confidently handles city speed bumps and potholes, but beyond urban areas, this might not be quite up for the task. But a well spreaded 125 kg of kerb weight (most of it coming from the battery pack) allows a light maneuverability through traffic.
One of its standout features is the seat. At 900 mm in length, it’s the longest and widest seat in the segment, offering generous comfort for both rider and pillion.

The following table lists the Ather Rizta Z price in Nepal for April 2026.

Rivals
Since there are two variants of the Ather Rizta, the rivalry part becomes quite vague, if you look them individually. The Rizta S with its more affordable pricing rivals the likes of TVS iQube (2.2 kWh variant), while the Rizta Z takes on the Bajaj Chetak.
Starting with the Rizta S and iQube 2.2 kWh variant, the comparison becomes a little tricky. Both scooters have similar kind of performance figures. But while the Rizta S excels in terms of riding range, the iQube with its fast charging capability (0 to 80% in around 2 hours) makes up for it. Then again, Rizta S has a longer seat and bigger underseat storage (34 liters) than the iQube’s (30 liters), which can go a long way in the favor of Rizta S. But again, iQube has a TFT display and a backrest as standard which the Rizta S completely misses out on.
So, this rivalry is pretty close and the difference comes mainly out of the additional Rs. 5,000 that you’d have to churn out for the iQube as compared to the Rizta S.
On another front, Rizta Z taking on the Chetak is pretty interesting too. Performance-wise, Rizta Z is marginally stronger with its 4.3 kW motor as compared to 4 kW unit on the Chetak. That translates in terms of the top speed and Rizta’s 80 kmph is better to look forward to than Chetak’s 73 kmph.
Rizta Z’s 3.7 kWh battery and the Chetak’s 3.58 kWh pack both deliver an impressive real-world range, but Rizta Z’s true range claim of 125 km tips the scale in its favor. Their weight is close, with the Rizta at 125 kg and the Chetak at 129 kg, so benefit of lower-weight and higher-range is distributed symmetrically for both scooters. But Chetak’s 4-kg extra weightage comes from its metal body that helps in keeping the scooter more planted and stable, and also is more feel-nice.
Chetak outclasses Rizta Z with its faster 950W charger, making it the quickest to fully recharge in 4 hours and 25 minutes when compared to 5 hours and 45 minutes in Rizta (with its 700W charging).
Up to this point, Chetak seems a more balanced than the Rizta Z. And when factoring its price of Rs. 3.25 lakhs compared to the Rizta’s Rs. 3.84 lakhs, the scale tips heavily in the favor of Chetak.
However, there is one key weakness holding the Chetak back. Its Single-Side-Leading-Link front suspension and Off-set Monoshock at the rear feel outdated. The ride quality is noticeably stiffer, bumps are not absorbed as effectively, and there is a delayed reaction that transfers more shock to the rider. Bajaj could easily close the gap in the future with an updated suspension setup. And if you riding around cities and urban route, the current suspension won’t give you much troubles.
So what’s the verdict? Well, Rizta S is a good choice for an electric scooter. The balance of fit and finish, performance, range, ergonomics, and price makes it an attractive option for people looking for an electric scooter.
But the Rizta Z, beside having a higher range than many of its class, featuring a comprehensive set of features, and extended warranty option doesn’t make much sense, primarily due to its pricing.
