Poco Mobiles in Nepal

Poco deals with a variety of smartphones, from entry-level to mid-range, but they are popular for their aggressive value-for-money phones. Though Xiaomi Nepal had initially brought the Poco F1 to Nepal, after years of waiting, Poco phones in Nepal were officially introduced only on November 4, 2020.

Vatsal Impex Pvt. Ltd. is the official distributor of Poco in Nepal. They are currently selling only two Poco smartphones in Nepal that range from entry-level to premium mid-range. Regarding the Poco mobile service centers in Nepal, you can find more information here.

With that said, if you are looking to buy a Poco phone, the Poco mobile price in Nepal can range from Rs. 20,999 for the Poco M5 to Rs. 42,999 for the Poco X5 Pro. Poco sells phones in all budget categories, so it might be confusing which one you need to get. Here’s a simple breakdown:

  • C/M series: budget phones.
  • X series: mid-range series that put an emphasis on performance. Poco calls it the Xtreme series and offers incredible price-to-performance.
  • F series: Poco flagships that are also referred to as flagship killers. Currently, there are no F-series phones available for sale in Nepal.

Poco X5 Pro 5G

Poco X5 Pro 5G Summary

x5 pro

The Poco X5 Pro is Poco’s latest addition to the Poco phones in Nepal. It’s a mid-range Poco phone that offers great performance and has great value for money. The phone has a good design, which we’ve seen before on other models.

PRICING

Rs. 39,999 (6/128GB)

Rs. 42,999 (8/256GB)

Pros

  • IP53 rated
  • 120Hz AMOLED HDR10+
  • Good 108MP camera
  • 67W fast charging

Cons

  • Plastic design
  • Mediocre ultrawide camera
  • Android 12 out-of-the-box

Poco X5 Pro 5G comes with an all-plastic design. The top half of the back has huge POCO branding, which really takes away from the clean look. There is a camera island alongside it that houses the triple camera.

The phone comes loaded in the display department. A 120Hz Full HD+ display with HDR10+ certification and 900nits of peak brightness. The display is also 1920Hz PWM dimming capable, which helps reduce eye strain.

The X5 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 778G chipset. It’s an Octa-core (1×2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 & 3×2.2 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4×1.9 GHz Cortex-A55) with the Adren 642L for graphics. The G-series processors are usually meant for gaming performance, and they deliver good results. The phone also comes with UFS 2.2 storage and has decent RAM and storage options.

At the back, the triple camera setup features a 108MP primary camera. The other two are an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro. The main 108MP camera takes decent shots, but the ultrawide and macro can lack details. Finer details will get lost with such a small sensor. However, daytime shots shouldn’t be such a big issue with the ultrawide camera.

Poco X5 Pro Price in Nepal: Rs. 39,999 (6/128GB) | Rs. 42,999 (8/256GB)

To power the phone is a 5000mAh battery. It should last you a day of usage—moderate usage, that is. The phone supports 67W fast charging, which should help you recharge the phone fairly quickly.

To conclude, the Poco X5 Pro looks pretty good on paper. It has all the important categories nailed down. It offers incredible value for money with the specs it delivers. The chipset is a tried and tested one and MIUI has also come a long way so the phone shouldn’t cause many issues.

Poco M5

Poco M5 Summary

poco m5

For the price, the Poco M5 is a very good Poco mobile in Nepal with a good display and excellent performance. If you are looking for a budget phone with top-notch performance, then this should be at the top of your list. The camera and charging could have been better, though.

PRICING

Rs. 20,499 (4/64GB)
Rs. 23,999 (6/128GB)

Pros

  • Excellent performance
  • Above-average battery
  • 90Hz display

Cons

  • Average main camera
  • Lacks ultrawide camera
  • Slow charging

The Poco M5 back panel has a leather-like texture finish, which gives it a good grip and gives off a premium vibe. However, it is made up of plastic and has a unibody design, and the outdated waterdrop notch and thick bezels don’t earn any style points from the front. The 90Hz works really well, and the 240Hz touch sampling rate further enhances the touch response.

This mobile rocks a chipset from MediaTek, the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset. It is very smooth in daily usage, and it can also handle heavy AAA games. So, the Poco M5 is the best phone in terms of performance for the price tag.

The Poco M5 gets a triple camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. The photos from the main camera are average, not sharp enough, and lack dynamic range. The 2MP macro camera takes low-resolution photos with washed-out colors and low contrast.

Poco M5 Specifications

  • Display: 6.58 inches FHD+ IPS LCD, 1080 x 2408 pixels, 90Hz, 20:9, 500 nits (HBM)
  • Chipset: MediaTek Helio G99 (6nm)
  • CPU: Octa-core (2×2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55)
  • GPU: Mali-G57 MC2
  • Memory: 64GB 4GB, 128GB 6GB RAM, supports microSD card
  • OS: Android 12, MIUI 13 for Poco
  • Rear Camera: 50 MP, f/1.8, (wide), PDAF
    • 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth)
    • 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro)
    • Video: 1080p@60fps
  • Front Camera: 5 MP, f/2.2, (wide)
    • Video: 1080p@30fps
  • Battery: Non-removable Li-Po 5000 mAh battery, Fast Charging 18W

Poco M5 Price in Nepal: Rs. 20,499 (4/64GB) | Rs. 23,999 (6/128GB)

Poco M5 has a 5000mAh battery and can provide very good battery life. With moderate usage, it can provide up to 6-7 hours of screen time. It comes with a 22.5W charger, but it only supports 18W fast charging and takes exactly 2 hours to fully charge.

Well, the Poco M5 focuses on providing good performance for the price with a good display and a good battery life. The camera and charging could have been better though. However, it is a very good budget phone and it undercuts most of its competitors.

Thoughts on Poco Phones Price in Nepal

Here is the list of Poco mobile prices in Nepal for the year 2024. Currently, Poco offers only two mobiles in Nepal.

There are only a handful of brands that can compete with Poco in terms of the price-to-performance ratio, and all Poco mobiles in Nepal are priced aggressively. Realme was the only other brand that used to offer such aggressive pricing in Nepal. However, recently, it has failed to provide a compelling price-to-performance ratio.

Xiaomi, Poco’s parent company, is the only major competitor for Poco. Presumably, for this reason, Xiaomi is not giving much attention to introducing more Poco devices in Nepal.

Poco Nepal has been more active since 2021, and it’s exciting to see aggressively priced, value-for-money Poco phones launching in Nepal. However, starting in 2024, it seems that Poco will not be as active in Nepal.
