The Nothing Phone (4a) has received its third price hike in Nepal, and this time, it isn’t alone. The Phone (4a) Pro has also become more expensive, pushing the entire Phone (4a) lineup further away from its original launch pricing.

Since launch, the Phone (4a) has gone from one of the most aggressively priced mid-range smartphones in Nepal to one that’s now up to Rs. 11,000 more expensive, depending on the variant. So, let’s take a look at the updated pricing.
What is the Price of Nothing Phone (4a) in Nepal?
The Nothing Phone (4a) debuted globally on March 5, with pre-booking in Nepal opening a week later on March 12. It launched at Rs. 55,999 (8/128GB), Rs. 60,999 (8/256GB), and Rs. 67,999 (12/256GB), making it one of the most competitively priced mid-range phones in the market.
However, the pricing didn’t stay that way for long. Just a month later, Nothing revised the prices to Rs. 58,499 (8/128GB), Rs. 63,999 (8/256GB), and Rs. 69,999 (12/256GB).
Then, in June 2026, the Phone (4a) received another price hike, pushing the prices to Rs. 59,999 (8/128GB), Rs. 65,499 (8/256GB), and Rs. 70,999 (12/256GB).
Now, just a month later, Nothing has announced yet another price revision. The Nothing Phone (4a) price in Nepal is now Rs. 64,999 (8/128GB), Rs. 71,999 (8/256GB), and Rs. 78,999 (12/256GB).
Compared to its launch price, the Phone (4a) is now Rs. 9,000 more expensive for the base model and Rs. 11,000 more expensive for the 256GB variants. That makes this the third price revision and the largest jump the Phone (4a) has seen since its debut.
That said, the pre-booking offers have now expired, and the phone is available for purchase through authorized stores across Nepal.
We’ve already said that Nothing set the bar high, but if you’re wondering why exactly, then let me give you a quick flashback. The design was clean, the Essential Key was surprisingly useful, performance was solid for the price, and most importantly, the 2x optical telephoto lens was the standout for the segment.
Now, with the Nothing Phone (4a), the company has removed a few things while upgrading others. But the real question is: Can it live up to the hype of its predecessor, or will it fall short? Let’s dive into the overview and find out:

Nothing Phone (4a) Overview
The Nothing Phone (4a) immediately stands out in the mid-range segment with its striking, transparent design. Inspired by an owl, the cameras resemble eyes while the internal components form the body, giving it a brutalist, industrial vibe.
Honestly, the phone looks both different and similar to the previous model. What’s different is that the Glyph Light has now been replaced by a Glyph Bar, which features 63 mini LEDs spread across six addressable zones.
According to Nothing, these LEDs are 40% brighter than those on previous models. As for usage, you can use them for essential notifications and as a progress tracker.
What remains similar is the elongated camera island, although it has now been shifted slightly toward the top. Build quality remains mostly the same with a plastic frame, but this time the front display gets Gorilla Glass 7i protection, while the back continues to use Panda Glass.
The button arrangement has also been changed compared to last year. The volume rocker and power button now sit on the right, while the Essential Key is placed on the left. This is a fairly common layout seen on most smartphones.

Nothing has also introduced a new Pink color, bringing the Nothing Phone (4a) lineup to four options: White, Black, Blue, and Pink.
The display is where you see the biggest upgrade. It’s a 1.5K resolution screen packed into a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel, pushing the pixel density to 440 PPI. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S26 has a 411 PPI display. So technically, the Phone (4a) should produce a slightly crisper image. Besides that, HBM brightness now hits 1,600 nits.

The next major upgrade comes in the camera department, specifically the telephoto lens. The Phone (4a) now features a 50MP periscope telephoto camera instead of a standard telephoto lens. While this allows the phone to zoom up to 3.5x optically, the aperture now sits at ƒ/2.88, which is lower than the Nothing Phone (3a)’s ƒ/2.0.

The rest of the camera setup remains unchanged, including a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide, and a 32MP selfie shooter.
As for hardware, there are substantial upgrades, though they are not particularly exciting. The phone now runs the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. However, when compared to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 used in the Nothing Phone (3a), the performance gap is fairly negligible.
With the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, the Phone (4a) comes with up to 12GB RAM paired with either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Powering everything is a 5,080mAh battery, which is fine. But seeing a 5,400mAh cell on the Indian variant really makes you want a piece of that pie. Charging remains unchanged with 50W fast charging support.

Moving on to the UI, there’s hardly anything bad to say about Nothing OS. Previous versions looked clean and minimal, and the brand has built a reputation for delivering a solid software experience. I am just glad that they backtracked from the decision to push ads on their midrange options.
The Phone (4a) ships with Nothing OS 4.1, which is based on Android 16. However, software support remains somewhat weak, with only three years of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.

The Nothing Phone (4a) fixes some of the shortcomings of the Nothing Phone (3a). It now gets a better display with Gorilla Glass protection, which was missing last time, a more capable telephoto camera, and a slightly larger battery… slightly. These upgrades collectively do make the phone more appealing to potential buyers.
The phone was super competitively priced. But even with the price hike, the phone feels absolutely worth it. Compared to something like the POCO X8 Pro, it may feel leagues behind in performance, battery, and charging departments. BUT those are trade-offs I will happily make for a better camera setup with a telephoto lens, clean UI, and not having to deal with annoying ads baked into the system!
