OnePlus decided to skip the OnePlus 14 altogether, jumping straight to the OnePlus 15, which recently made its debut in China.

The global launch is expected on November 13, and if things go as planned, the OnePlus 15 could very well be the first smartphone in Nepal to feature the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
What is the price of the OnePlus 15 in Nepal?
The OnePlus 15 price in Nepal is expected to be around Rs. 1,34,999 (16/512GB). For now, the OnePlus 15 is available only in China.
As for its launch in Nepal, it might take a little while. Though there’s a good chance it could arrive around the same time as the global launch. After all, OnePlus Nepal has been pretty quick lately, announcing devices like the Nord CE 5 and Nord 5 almost in sync with their international releases.
I’ve got to admit, I’ve become a bit of a OnePlus fan lately, especially after the launch of the OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord CE 5. Both phones hit that sweet spot of perfect pricing for the features they offer, something that’s getting rare these days. And that’s exactly why I’ve got high hopes for OnePlus’ next big flagship.
The previous flagship, the OnePlus 13, did a similar thing with its pricing strategy, so much so that it practically overshadowed the OnePlus 12. If OnePlus Nepal can pull off something similar again, the OnePlus 15 could easily be one of the best flagship phones of the year.
Alright, that’s enough yapping, let’s dive right into it!
OnePlus 15 Overview
Things are finally starting to change with the OnePlus 15, especially in the design department. After years of sticking with the circular camera module, OnePlus has switched things up, this time going for a square camera island, and it’s definitely a unique one, to say the least.

The company is also touting what it calls a “Golden Geometric R angle”, which supposedly refines the phone’s overall curvature. But if I’m being honest, the front of the phone does give off strong iPhone vibes.
The frame is made of aluminum, while the back varies depending on the color you pick. The Primary Dune variant gets a fiberglass finish, whereas the Absolute Black and Misty Purple models feature a premium glass back. And here’s something impressive: the phone comes with IP66/68/69K dust and water resistance.
On the front, you’re greeted by a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display boasting a 95.5% screen-to-body ratio. And it shows, the bezels are almost non-existent. OnePlus also claims the screen can reach up to 165Hz refresh rate in certain scenarios, although the standard adaptive range remains 1–120Hz.

Resolution-wise, the panel now drops to FHD+ from the QHD+ on the OnePlus 13. But since the display size has also slightly decreased, it shouldn’t be a deal-breaker.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 15 runs on Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Qualcomm’s latest flagship chip and a direct successor to the wildly popular Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (also known as Snapdragon 8 Elite).
You get 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, paired with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. However, for Nepal, we’ll likely only see the 16/512GB variant, much like what happened with the OnePlus 13.
For photography, the OnePlus 15 packs a triple 50MP setup, one for each camera. The main sensor is the Sony LYT-700, while the telephoto lens uses Samsung’s JN5 sensor and now supports up to 3.5x optical zoom. The third is, of course, an ultrawide shooter. Up front, you get a 32MP selfie camera, which should handle portraits and video calls quite well.
Interestingly, with the Hasselblad partnership coming to an end, image processing is now handled entirely in-house by OnePlus’ own “Detail Max Engine.” It’ll be exciting to see how this shift affects the overall image tuning and color science.
Powering the device is a massive 7,300mAh battery, which supports 120W SuperVOOC wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Do note that the global variant might pack a slightly smaller battery than the Chinese model.
On the software front, the Chinese version ships with ColorOS 16 based on Android 16, while the global variant will come with OxygenOS 16, as usual.
Interestingly, OnePlus hasn’t mentioned anything about software support for the OnePlus 15 on its official Chinese website. However, if we go by what the company offered with the OnePlus 13, we can expect 4 years of major Android updates and 6 years of security patches.

The OnePlus 15 is shaping up to be a near-perfect flagship, at least in its Chinese variant. If history is any indication, the global version might dial things back a little, often in areas like battery capacity and occasionally even the processor.
That said, there’s reason to be optimistic. With the Nord CE 5 recently launching with the same battery specs as its Chinese counterpart, OnePlus could finally be closing that gap.
If things go right, the OnePlus 15 might just turn out to be a strong contender against upcoming heavyweights like the Galaxy S26 and Xiaomi 17 series.
