The Pro+ option of the Redmi Note series has been on a roll for the past few years. The phone has been one of the best picks in its price range.
Last year’s Note 14 Pro+ was almost perfect, and the Note 15 Pro+ brings incremental upgrades over it. It now has IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K ratings instead of just IP68. The screen is a little larger, and the chipset is a little more powerful.

As I stated earlier, the Redmi Note 15 5G is the biggest winner of the entire series. It got an upgrade to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 from the MediaTek Dimensity 7025. For context, it’s the same chipset the Samsung Galaxy A36 has, and that phone costs Rs. 48,999… for the 128GB variant.
The other specs of the Redmi Note 15 5G aren’t bad either. We are getting a high-resolution curved AMOLED screen, 108MP camera coupled with an 8MP ultrawide snapper, and a 5,520mAh silicon-carbide battery.
Even with the massive price hike it got, the Redmi Note 15 5G does not look out of place among similarly priced peers, unlike its other siblings. Were it not for the currently bleak RAM situation, this phone would have been category-defining. We still think it has the potential to top the best phones under Rs. 40,000 chart later this year.
Possible Alternatives
As you may have guessed, Redmi Note 15 5G isn’t a bad purchase. However, you could still look at a few other options at this price, like the Infinix GT 30 or the CMF Phone 2 Pro.
The former packs the most power in this price while being Rs. 3,000 cheaper than the Redmi Note 15 5G. It has the gamer aesthetic, shoulder triggers, and whatnot. But we must say, it could receive a price hike just like other phones from the company have received recently.

I have already mentioned that this phone is very similar to its 5G counterpart. The obvious difference is the processor, as this phone packs a 4G-only chip. This also means the performance of the Redmi Note 14 4G is quite a bit weaker, but that is by design.
Then the other difference is the battery, wherein the Redmi Note 15 4G packs a 6,000mAh cell, which is larger than the Redmi Note 15 5G. I should also clarify that Xiaomi does not mention this phone has the fancy silicon-carbide tech, unlike other Note 15s, so it’s likely a traditional lithium-ion tech. The charging is also slightly slower at “just” 33W.
Possible Alternatives
Being a 4G phone, you may think that the Redmi Note 15 is severely outclassed in the segment. But the reality is rather different. We have the Infinix Hot 60 Pro+ quite high in our best phones under Rs. 30,000 list, which is indeed a 4G phone.
The Redmi Note 15 4G competes fiercely with that phone, considering that both phones are priced equally. And I think Redmi pulls a bit ahead between the two. So, the only true alternative to this phone is the one that tops our best phones under Rs. 30,000 list, i.e. CMF Phone 1.
The latter has a better software experience and massively powerful hardware. However, it is multiple years old at this point, so you could still make a case for the Redmi Note 15 4G!

First, it comes with the Dimensity 8400, making it one of the best price-to-performance phones under Rs. 70,000. Like last year’s 14T, Xiaomi has generously equipped the 15T with up to 512GB of storage, and 16GB Ultra Space on top of that!
The camera setup is another highlight, developed in partnership with Leica. It includes a telephoto lens, an ultrawide, and a 50MP main sensor, covering all the essentials for versatile photography.
With its solid pricing, the 15T is arguably one of the most spec-packed smartphones in the Rs. 60,000–70,000 range.
Possible Alternatives
The Xiaomi 15T faces strong competition from phones like the Vivo V60, OnePlus Nord 5, Samsung Galaxy A56, and the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro.
For photography, the Vivo V60 stands out with its Zeiss-partnered camera and 3x telephoto lens. During our testing of the two phones, Vivo led the charge in portraits and selfies. While Xiaomi has a massive leg up in the performance department, the Vivo V60 isn’t a weakly powered phone by any means.
Another telephoto-equipped alternative is the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro. It offers a clean, bloatware-free Android experience, though its Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip is weaker compared to the other alternatives.
If reliability and brand value are your priorities, the Samsung Galaxy A56 is a strong pick. With Samsung’s brand backing and six years of OS and security updates, this phone is built to last.

Xiaomi as a brand will never be irrelevant in the budget segment. They have done many things right over the years to earn this spot of theirs. However, looking at the Redmi 15, it seems they got a bit too comfortable.
There isn’t anything unique that this phone offers other than the massive 7,000mAh battery it packs. So, if all you want from your phone is absolute battery life, then sure, you should buy the Redmi 15. If not, there are better options.

Possible Alternatives
While reviewing this phone alongside the Redmi 15C, it never felt like the two phones were too far apart from each other. So, paying an extra Rs. 3,000 for the Redmi 15 didn’t really seem very fruitful.
Meanwhile, if we are to look at its price range, there are so many better options. There are better-looking ones, better-performing ones, and ones with better displays. With this phone, we got a little better display, a bigger battery, and faster charging support compared to its predecessor. However, the competition has toughened, and Redmi 15C doesn’t look as attractive as it used to be a while back.
So, trying to answer whether or not you should buy the Redmi 15C is a bit tricky. This is because the company launched this phone with a slight price hike, which steepened even further after the whole RAM shortage ordeal.
Let’s just say, there are better options at this price range, but it’s not a bad purchase either. It is definitely a better value than the Redmi 15, though.
Possible Alternatives
Talking about the alternatives, the very first one that comes to mind is the Motorola Moto G05 — similar performance, similar specs, but Rs. 4,000 cheaper.
With a price of Rs. 16,999, it’s in the range of the Samsung Galaxy A07. The Galaxy only has 64GB of storage, but it has a much more powerful chipset (Helio G99) and six years of software support. Those aspects of Samsung make the storage gap easier to overlook.

Considering the Redmi A5 is a pure budget phone, it actually delivers quite a lot in terms of raw specs.
For starters, the UNISOC T7250 is a pleasant surprise, offering performance on par with some even expensive phones. The 120Hz display is another standout feature. However, during our review, the screen only reached full 120Hz in the Settings menu, staying limited to 60Hz or 90Hz in most apps, which was disappointing.
On the software side, the Android 15 (Go Edition) makes a big difference. Unlike many Xiaomi phones, the Redmi A5 isn’t bogged down with bloatware or intrusive ads. The clean Go Edition experience feels smoother and more enjoyable than MIUI or even HyperOS, especially given the entry-level hardware.
That said, if you’re a fan of punch-hole cutouts, you might be let down; the A5 sticks with a traditional water drop notch.
Possible Alternatives
The Redmi A5 spearheaded the entry-level segment for some time without serious competition. However, its recent price bump has jolted it out of the best phones at the Rs. 10,000 list.
Now it competes with the likes of Tecno Spark Go 2 and Infinix Smart 10, both of which are solid alternatives worth considering. All three phones are powered by the UNISOC T7250, also known as the T615. So you’re getting similar performance across the board.
The Tecno Spark Go 1 runs Android 14 (Go Edition), which is one year older than the A5, but still offers a lightweight and clean software experience. If you prefer a more full-featured OS over Go Edition, the Infinix Smart 10 runs full Android 15 with XOS 15.1 skin for a richer experience out of the box.
