Redmi Note 14 Overview
Design
The Redmi Note 14 has a flat design — in more than one way. While the frames and edges are flat as you would have expected, a lot of the colour options are flat too. Meaning, they do not have any fancy patterns going on for them.
Except for the Mist Purple colour, which has an eye-catching glittery finish. This phone has the lowest protection against dust and water exposure with just an IP54 rating.
Display
The display on the Redmi Note 14 is pretty much the same as its 5G counterpart. As such, it is a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top.
It stretches FHD+ (1,080 x 2,400 pixels) in resolution, has 394 PPI pixel density, and refreshes at a rate of up to 120Hz. The touch sampling rate on this thing can reach up to 2,160Hz. However, that’s only the case when the “Game Mode” is turned, otherwise, it caps at a maximum of 240Hz.
It is also an 8-bit panel that covers 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, offers 960Hz PWM dimming, has TÜV Rheinland certification for Low Blue Light (Hardware solution), Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly, and supports Wet-touch technology.
The only difference is, it has lower peak brightness of just 1,800 nits compared to 2,100 on the 5G model.
Hardware
Under the hood, it has the MediaTek Helio G99 Ultra — one of the most powerful 4G chipsets and the same thing that powered the Redmi Note 13 Pro that arrived in Nepal last year.
This silicon is just the regular G99 with “Ultra” slapped on the name. It is an octa-core processor with 6nm fabbing and a peak clock speed of 2.2GHz.
Other than that, the Redmi Note 14 packs up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. It also has a slot for a microSD card for additional storage of up to 1TB.
Cameras
Talking of the cameras, it gets a 108MP primary shooter and two 2MP supporting sensors comprising depth and macro lenses. This effectively makes it a single-camera setup.
This is a step away from the Note 13 4G, as the set had an 8MP ultrawide. But this time, that privilege has only been reserved for the 5G variant of the Redmi Note 14 Classic.
That being said, it gets the AI Erase and AI Sky features to make things more interesting.
Battery and AI
The Redmi Note 14 gets the beefiest battery of all its series members at 5,500 mAh. The Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G does get the same cell capacity, but the phone did not arrive in Nepal. Charging-wise, it makes do with 33W support, the lowest in its entire series.
In terms of software, the phone runs on Xiaomi’s in-house HyperOS. It also comes with Google Gemini baked-in, giving it AI capabilities like Gemini Extensions, Overlay, Circle to Search, and Image Generation.
You require an internet connection to use these features.
Redmi Note 14 Price in Nepal and Availability
The Redmi Note 14 series launched on 13 January 2025 in Nepal. The Redmi Note 14 price in Nepal remains unchanged from last year at Rs 24,999 for the 6/128GB and Rs. 27,999 for the 8/256GB trim. It is available for purchase at all the authorised outlets across the country.
Redmi Note 14 | Price in Nepal |
---|---|
6/128GB | Rs. 24999 |
8/256GB | Rs. 27999 |
The price of the Redmi Note 14 remains unchanged from the Note 13 last year and for the price, it gets a better screen with tougher covering, a more powerful chipset, and a bigger battery.
However, it loses its usability in the camera department by giving up on the ultrawide snapper. That being said, it has gained more than lost, so without any price hike, it nonetheless remains a really good deal.
