Xiaomi has established a reputation of delivering impressive devices at an affordable rate. Whether it’s in the budget scenario or premium compartment, Xiaomi has never failed to impress. Because of the on-going pandemic lately, things have been rough but it looks like Xiaomi is looking for openings to get back in the business.
One of the major indications of the return is the virtual launch event that transpired in India a couple of hours ago. The event showcased Xiaomi’s premium Mi 10 5G and has now been marked available for purchase throughout India. Xiaomi has managed to skip the Mi 10 Pro and Mi 10 Lite for the time being.
Considering previous patterns, we know that it’s highly likely to arrive in Nepal in a short time as well. So, before we get to the details on prices and availability, first let’s have a quick overview of the Mi 10 5G.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Overview: Breathtaking
The Mi 10 is as marvelous as you’d expect a premium phone to be. The glass and aluminum sandwich encasing the top tier hardware is truly worth the “premium” recognition. Curving edges and curving glass to meet with the plain posterior is the signature look on the device.
The curved glass is a 6.67” Super AMOLED panel whose resolution tops out at 1080p. As expected, the panel has a 90Hz refresh rate and is sheltered by Gorilla Glass 5. The panel does have a crater on the top right that houses the camera module.
Underneath the panel, is the high tier Octa-Core Snapdragon 865 paired alongside a fair 8/12GB RAM. Furthermore, there’s a generous 128/256GB (UFS 3.0) internal setup. Not to mention, the OS is MIUI 11 with Android 10 right out of the box. Of course, as the name mentions, the device is integrated with 5G support.
The rear vertical quad-camera bump comprises a staggering 108MP (f/1.69) Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor primary camera, assisted by 13MP (f/2.4) ultrawide camera with a 123-degree FOV, 2MP (f/2.4) Macro, and 2MP depth modules. Reverting over to the front, you have a massive 20MP single module for selfies.
To top it all off, the Mi 10 conceals a massive 4780mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging. Wireless charging of the same magnitude is supported as well. Besides that, there’s the under-display fingerprint scanner, there’s no official IP rating; still, it has a P2i coating to protect against splashes.
Mi 10 5G Pricing, Availability
Over the past few days, the news of increment in the pricing of devices from Xiaomi has caused a huge uproar amongst many fans. That and the postponing of new launches have been a major source of dismay for fans all around Nepal.
Well, there’s nothing they can do about the price but hopefully, the introduction of the new flagship, Mi 10 will make up for the suppressed sales of the past month.
Even though there’s no news from Xiaomi till now, we still hope to hear about the arrival of Mi 10 in Nepal in a short while.
As for the price, the Mi 10 5G starts at INR 49,999; that roughly translates to NPR 80,000. Now, we all know this won’t be the final pricing; in fact, it could be a way lot more considering the situation we are in right now.
Well, that’s all we can say about the device for now. Word on the availability should be arriving in a few days. So, do stick around for more information on the Mi 10.
And while you’re at it, feel free to drop a comment on how you feel about the device.
