UMIDIGI is a relatively unknown brand for Nepalese buyers. The same is the case for the international market. That’s because UMIDIGI started making smartphones only from 2012. It is a Chinese manufacturer based in Shenzen. Though it may be a newbie in the smartphone market, UMIDIGI produces some fantastic performing phones with relatively low price tags. So you should keep an eye on their phones to ensure you looked at all the options available on the market before settling on a phone for you.
UMIDIGI first came into Nepali market near the end of 2017. It launched five phones in its debut; UMIDIGI Crystal, UMIDIGI C-Note, UMIDIGI G, UMIDIGI London and UMIDIGI Z1 Pro. Now it has added a new S2 Pro to its lineup. Vividtec Impex Pvt Ltd. is the sole authorized distributor of UMIDIGI mobile phones in Nepal.

UMIDIGI Z2 pro
The UMIDIG Z2 Pro has the internals to match its looks. The gorgeous glass back is interrupted by dual 16 +8 MP cameras on the back with the fingerprint sensor located right beneath them. Even the camera modules look luxuriously round and separated.
On the inside, UMIDIGI Z2 Pro contains the Helio P60 processor which is comparable to the Snapdragon 660 from Qualcomm. So, it’s a midrange processor. The performance would be fluid for normal tasks and apps but you won’t be able to play the latest games in the highest settings without any lag or stutter. However, the 6GB of RAM included must help with the multitasking performance. Even flagships from top manufacturers like Samsung still use 4GB RAM. The internal storage is large too. 128GB is enough for most of your photos an average human would click.

UMIDIGI One Pro
Inside, UMIDIGI One Pro houses the Helio P23 chip from MediaTek, the chip promises improved performance and reduced power consumption with its 16nm process technology. It has 8-cores of processor reaching 2.0GHz max, while the ARM Mali G71 MP2 clocks 700MHz. What this all means is that your normal apps like Facebook, Instagram, and youtube will run just fine. And with the 4GB RAM, multitasking should be smooth.
A Full HD display for this screen size would have been better but UMIDIGI has gone with an HD panel. This does help them conserve battery power though, and that may be more important to some people. With the 3250 mAh battery, battery life on this device shouldn’t be a problem to anyone. It should last you all day on a single charge whatever your use case.

UMIDIGI Crystal
We have to say that this was the first phone that showed what the future holds for the design of smartphones. It made us believe that an all screen phone was possible. The design still looks astounding, the phone lacks any bezel on all sides except the bottom used for the fingerprint sensor. Yeah, this phone has killer looks but the insides are fairly average. The MediaTek processor can handle most of your basic everyday tasks well. Just don’t expect to game on it.
As it is coupled with 4 GB of RAM, multitasking wouldn’t be a problem too. 4 GB is adequate, even by today’s standards. The Crystal has a 64 GB internal storage out of which 54 GB is available at the start which, for most people, would be enough for all the photos they click or the apps they want to install. Something that gives us a pause is the battery life. We are skeptical if this phone can last all day with its 3000mAh battery. It has to have excellent battery management capability to do so.
UMIDIGI Crystal Key Specifications
- Display: 5.5 inches FHD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 Protection
- Chipset: MediaTek MTK6750T
- CPU: Octa-core 1.5GHz
- GPU: Mali-T860MP2

UMIDIGI C-Note
UMIDIGI C Note recently saw its price drop to 17,999 from 20,999. At this price, it is a serious contender for the best value category. It is a great overall performer. The amount of RAM is large enough for 2018, and the processor, though midrange, will mostly handle basic apps like Facebook and YouTube without any issues. It might even handle light gaming. The main attraction of this phone is the screen.
Because a Full HD screen at this price is rare. And we thank UMIDIGI for that. The battery life, on the other hand, though the battery capacity is large, is not so great. Its good enough and might make it to the full day with light usage. The cameras are nothing to write home about. They do their job. Just don’t expect the pictures to blow you away or something. And if you can’t see from the photos, this phone has a front-mounted fingerprint scanner.
UMIDIGI C-Note Key Specifications
- Display: 5.5 inches FHD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 2.5D Curved Glass
- Chipset: MediaTek MTK6737T
- CPU: Quad-core 1.5GHz
- GPU: Mali-T720MP2
- Memory: 32GB internal storage with microSD expandable storage, 3GB RAM
- OS: Android 7.0 Nougat
- Primary Camera: 13 MP with ISOCELL sensor, dual phase detection autofocus, LED flash
- Secondary Camera: 5MP
- Battery: Non-removable Li-Ion 3800 mAh battery
- Sensors: Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass

UMIDIGI London
If you are excited about the new phone you are going to buy, don’t buy the UMIDIGI London. 1 GB of RAM in the Android World in 2018 just doesn’t cut it anymore. Even normal basic tasks like switching between apps would be a miserable experience. And what can you store in the 8GB internal storage after subtracting at least 6GB from the 8GB for the Android OS?
The only consolation you’ll get buying this phone is that UMIDIGI London has an HD screen. The battery life is poor too. We have already asked you to not go with a phone with just 1 GB of RAM but if you absolutely can’t or don’t want to spend more than 10K on a phone, we suggest you go with CG OMEGA 6. The OMEGA 6 phone gives you a fingerprint sensor, a bigger battery, and more storage for nearly the same price.
UMIDIGI London Key Specifications
- Display: 5 inches HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 2.5D Curved Glass
- Chipset: MediaTek MTK6580
- CPU: Quad-core 1.3 GHz
- GPU: Mali-T400MP
- Memory: 8GB internal storage with microSD expandable storage, 1GB RAM
- OS: Android 6.0 Marshmallow
- Primary Camera: 8 MP with Sony IMX149 sensor, autofocus, LED flash
- Secondary Camera: 2 MP
- Battery: Non-removable Li-Ion 2050 mAh battery
- Sensors: Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass

UMIDIGI Z1 Pro
UMIDIGI Z1 Pro is like a toned down version of the UMIDIGI S2 Pro. It has a 5.5-inch FHD IPS LCD display that has the normal 16:9 aspect ratio. The processor takes a step down to Helio P20 instead of the P25 and the battery is now 4000mAh. The RAM is still 6 GB which is overkill even in 2018. And the storage has been sliced in half to 64 GB. But looking at this phone alone, it is a surprisingly well-rounded performer for the price.
The cameras are decent. It has dual primary camera setup which clicks good enough photos. A 5.0 MP sensor for a selfie camera will get the job done. And though the 4000 mAh battery is not as stellar as the S2 Pro’s 5100 mAh battery, it can still last you all day. So, if you want to buy this phone, we won’t bat an eye. But don’t forget to shop around.
Umidigi Z1 Pro Key Specifications
- Display: 5.5 inches FHD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 Protection
- Chipset: MediaTek Helio P20
- CPU: Octa-core 2.3 GHz
- GPU: Mali-T880MP2

Great value | Performance not the best in class |
Large RAM |
UMIDIGI S2 Pro
UMIDIGI S2 Pro looks Gorgeous in its RED color. And as the price suggests, this phone is a performer. Equipped with a flagship MediaTek Processor, and a whopping 6 GB of RAM, this phone will fly through most of the tasks you throw at it. App switching and resuming won’t be as difficult as phones with say 2 GB of RAM. The 128 GB of storage available is plenty too. Even if 10GB of storage is already taken, you’ll still be left with 118GB of internal storage which will be more than enough for whatever you want to store on your phone.
The cameras are decent. Good lighting conditions will result in great pictures but the low light would see the phone struggle a bit. The real reason to buy this phone, however, would be the battery. A 5100mAh beast powers this phone. This phone will last you all day even under heavy usage and more if you don’t use your phone much.
For the battery life alone, you should absolutely consider buying the UMIDIGI S2 Pro. However, we would like to tell you that, Xiaomi Mi 6, which is better than the UMIDIGI S2 Pro in most aspects, especially the camera, is currently available for Rs. 44,000.
UMIDIGI S2 Pro Key Specifications
