Samsung has added two new phones to its A-series roster, the Galaxy A57 and the Galaxy A37, the latest iterations of Samsung’s semi-premium lineup. Now that both phones are available for pre-order in Nepal, you must be curious as to what the phones are like.

Worry not, dear reader, that’s exactly what we will be discussing in this article. Here, we will focus on the bigger of the two A-series devices, i.e., Galaxy A57.
What is the Price of Samsung Galaxy A57 in Nepal?
The Samsung Galaxy A57 price in Nepal is Rs. 84,999 for the 8/256GB variant and Rs. 89,999 for the 12/256GB trim. The phone is available for pre-order at authorized stores across Nepal from April 5th to 10th.
As part of the pre-order, customers can get a Rs. 4,000 discount on the 12/256GB variant, while the 8/256GB model unfortunately misses out. That said, Samsung is still bundling a FREE 25W charger on both variants.
They are also offering a 24-month EMI option on the Galaxy A57 — though the 2-year plan carries interest, while the 1-year plan remains at 0%. There’s an exchange facility, where you can trade in your old phone and even combine it with EMI to further ease the cost.
Additionally, you can also expect the phone to be added to Samsung’s Multi Buy Offer in the coming few weeks.
The Samsung Galaxy A57 is succeeding the much-popular Galaxy A56, so it makes total sense to have a little refresher on the A56 before moving into the nitty-gritty of the A57.
Honestly, the raw specs of the A56 were not that exciting. For a phone that costs around Rs. 70,000, it only offered a common display, okay-ish raw performance, and a camera that could have been much better, especially given what rivals offered at the same price.
And yet, our review video for the Galaxy A56 gained exceptional traction and even secured a “Top 10 by fans” spot on GSMArena. So it’s safe to say that, despite its shortcomings, there’s a strong interest in the phone.
Which got me thinking — maybe buyers aren’t just chasing the best specs on paper. Maybe they’re after something reliable, something they can fully trust. And which brand comes to mind when you think of that, besides Apple? Samsung, of course.
If history is anything to go by, I can see the Galaxy A57 being one of the best-selling semi-premium phones this year too, despite its not-so-exciting spec sheet. Anyway, enough chitchat.
Let’s see what the Samsung Galaxy A57 has to offer, exactly:
Samsung Galaxy A57 Overview
The most expensive phone in the A-series has been getting thinner and thinner with each generation. The A55 came in at 8.2mm, the A56 at 7.4mm, and now the A57 is thinner than ever, sitting just under the 7mm mark at 6.9mm.
While that’s not S25 Edge level thin, it’s thin enough to make the Galaxy A57 the thinnest A-series member, like ever. What’s even more impressive is that the phone still packs the same 5,000mAh Li-ion battery like always. Plus, the same 45W fast charging.
The rest of the design, however, remains similar to the A56 with that clean pill-shaped camera housing. Which may make you think one could easily mistake it for the older A56, but you won’t. That pill-shaped camera housing is actually translucent this time around. A subtle difference, but enough to look unique.

The ingress protection has finally been upgraded from IP67 to IP68. I was starting to think Samsung would never make the jump, especially since it has stuck with IP67 since the A52, which launched half a decade ago.
The display size is still 6.7 inches. But Samsung, just like the phone’s frame, has thinned the bezels down compared to last year. There is still a slight chin at the bottom, though.
Also, it is a Super AMOLED+ panel, an upgrade from the Super AMOLED on the A56. According to Samsung, the AMOLED+ is a thinner and more efficient panel. But color and vibrancy-wise, I think you would hardly spot a difference.

You get a 120Hz refresh rate and brightness of 1,200 nits in HBM mode (1,900 nits peak). Other than that, I feel it’s about time for Samsung to move to a QHD+ screen on this phone from the FHD+ screen, but not yet, I guess.
Samsung continues the tradition of debuting a new Exynos chip in its top-tier A-series phone, and the A57 brings the new Exynos 1680. It is largely similar to its predecessor but with a slight GPU bump, meaning mildly better gaming performance.
We get 8GB or 12GB RAM with this phone, while the storage options now also include 512GB for the very first time in an A-series phone. Sadly, the Nepali audience will have to miss out on the 12/512GB trim and settle for the same variants as last year, i.e. 8/256GB and 12/256GB.

The camera setup remains the same as last year: a 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, and 5MP macro lens. Samsung claims the main camera features an enhanced ISP for faster image processing that reduces noise, and “1.0µm big pixels” that technically improve night photography.
On the software front, the Galaxy A57 runs One UI 8.5 based on Android 16, and Samsung is going all out again with its update promise, six years of OS and security updates. That means your phone will be supported all the way until 2032, which is still pretty impressive.

The Galaxy A50 lineup has always been an “either you like it, or you don’t” type of smartphone. The raw specs are not that great, and compared to the previous gen, there is rarely any significant upgrade. But Samsung has been doing this for ages and getting away with it. And this time too, the A57 will likely still sell like hotcakes.
But the thing is, the pricing this time may be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. A jump to near Rs. 90,000 might be asking too much, especially when rivals like Nothing Phone (4a) series, or the OPPO Reno15 offer better hardware, and I am not just talking about the processor.
At the end of the day, the A57 is a phone built on trust, reliability, Samsung’s brand value, and far-reaching software support. And for a large chunk of buyers, that is what matters the most. But if you are someone who wants the most out of every rupee you spend, the A57 will leave you wanting more.
