TVS NTorq 150 Set to Launch in Nepal in 2026: Bigger Engine and More Tech

HIGHLIGHTS

  • TVS NTorq 150 is officially coming to Nepal.
  • It is based on the NTorq 125 platform but updated for the higher engine.
  • The NTorq 150 is quite tech-laden with segment-first features.

The TVS NTorq lineup has been one of the most successful 125cc scooters in Nepal, with over 150,000 units sold. Building on that success, TVS Nepal is now preparing to introduce the larger and more powerful TVS NTorq 150 by mid-2026, less than a year after its India launch in September 2025.

Jagdamba Motors, the authorized distributor of TVS scooters in Nepal, is gearing up to launch its biggest scooter yet. Positioned as the new flagship, the NTorq 150 promises more performance, stronger road presence, and higher rider engagement than the NTorq Race XP.

It represents the next evolution of the NTorq platform and is being pitched as a “Hyper Sports Scooter.” To back that claim, it brings bold design updates and segment-first features such as a Multipoint Projector Headlamp, Naked Handlebar setup, Adjustable Brake Levers, Aerodynamic Winglets, Follow Me headlamps, Emergency Brake Warning, and more.

The TVS NTorq 150 is offered in two variants: Standard and TFT. Both share the same engine, performance, and overall package. The key difference lies in the tech display. The TFT variant features a larger 5-inch TFT display with 4-way navigation switches, live vehicle tracking,  Traction Control, Alexa, and smartwatch integration. Whereas the Standard variant makes do with a hybrid TFT + LCD digital cluster that still supports Bluetooth connectivity.

TVS Nepal is likely to bring in the top-spec TFT variant to go head-to-head with premium rivals like the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Aprilia SXR 160. Even if the Standard version arrives instead, the experience should remain largely unchanged, as the gap between the two variants is not dramatic.

That said, the 150cc scooter segment remains niche compared to the ever-popular 125cc class. Whether the NTorq 150 can shake things up and expand that space is the real question.

TVS NTorq 150 Overview

Design

The TVS NTorq 150 builds on the familiar NTorq design but pushes it further toward a more muscular and performance-focused look. The sharp, angular silhouette and layered body panels give it a sporty, almost maxi-scooter stance, while still keeping the compact proportions expected from a street-oriented scooter.

Up front, the NTorq 150 looks aggressive and purposeful. The split-style LED headlamp sits high on the apron, framed by bold V-shaped lines that flow downward. Integrated LED DRLs add a premium touch while improving visibility. The naked handlebar setup and angular mirrors further emphasize its sporty road presence. Compared to commuter-focused scooters, the NTorq 150 feels sharper and more performance-driven, though its bold styling can be polarizing from certain angles.

From the side, the design really comes alive. Strong character lines run from the front apron through the mid-body panels and taper sharply toward the rear, creating a sense of motion even at a standstill. The stepped seat balances comfort with a sporty feel, while the wide floorboard adds everyday practicality.

Contrasting 12-inch alloy wheels stand out visually, reinforcing their performance intent. The side-mounted exhaust with a chunky heat shield adds visual weight, and the partially exposed rear suspension hints at its sporty tuning.

The rear continues the aggressive theme. A sharp split-style LED tail lamp is framed by angular bodywork, giving the scooter a compact yet planted look. The grab rail is neatly integrated and does not interrupt the design flow, while the slightly upswept tail adds to its sporty character.

Riders can choose between the Standard variant with a hybrid LCD-TFT display or the TFT variant, which adds a larger high-resolution screen with connected features. The NTorq 150 is offered in four bold colors: Turbo Blue, Nitro Green, Racing Red, and Stealth Silver.

Performance

The NTorq 150 is powered by a 149.7cc 3-valve O3C Tech Engine. It produces a max power of 13.2 PS at 7000rpm and a max torque of 14.2 Nm at 5500rpm. Moreover, it is equipped with a 5.8-liter fuel tank.

With the larger engine displacement, the performance does get a significant boost, allowing it to go from 0 to 60 km/h in 6.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 104 km/h. This makes it one of the fastest petrol scooters in its segment.

It is not technically a new engine. It is based on the NTorq platform, where bore and stroke have been increased to achieve the higher engine displacement. And, the same goes for the chassis. However, TVS has put considerable work here, updating the engine for optimized performance, where it has the same DNA as the NTorq 125 but is smoother and more refined.

NTorq 150 comes with Street and Race modes. There is a noticeable difference depending on the riding modes. The Street Mode has a reduced power of 10.9PS for more relaxed and linear power delivery. This will help with better fuel mileage thanks to automatic start-stop. Whereas the Race Mode unlocks the full 13.2PS with sharper and more responsive throttle. The pickup is quicker with “iGo Assist” boost, which is absent in the Street Mode. However, this does have less fuel efficiency compared to the Street Mode.

Additional Details

The dimensions are 1861mm in length, 740mm in width, and 1120mm in height. And, the wheelbase sits at 1285mm. It has a seat height of 770 mm with ground clearance of 155 mm.

Despite sharing the same dimensions as the NTorq 125, it is 1 kilo to 3 kilos lighter at 115kg. This is due to NTorq having lighter bodywork and engine parts compared to NTorq 125.

Telescopic Suspension and Coil Spring handle suspension duties. It rides on 12-inch tubeless alloy wheels, with 100/80-section front and 110/80-section rear. The suspension tuning has been significantly improved over the NTorq 125, resulting in smoother handling and easier city maneuvering, making it ideal for both traffic-heavy streets and quick turns.

TVS NTorq 150 Price in Nepal and Availability

It is still too early to guess the TVS NTorq 150 price in Nepal. However, it will follow the aggressive pricing style of other TVS products available in the Nepali market. If TVS wants to create a lasting impression, it should price it accordingly.

As for the launch date, TVS Nepal will launch the new NTorq 150 in 2026. While initial planning suggests an April-May launch date. We will continue to update this as more details emerge.

Rivals

The TVS NTorq 150 rivals the Yamaha Aerox 155, which is available, and the Hero Xoom 160, which has yet to launch in Nepal.

The Yamaha Aerox 155 sits at the top of the performance ladder. With 15 PS from its VVA-equipped engine, it is the most powerful scooter here and firmly belongs to the maxi-scooter category. That status brings premium hardware like large LED headlights, Traction Control, and Single-Channel ABS. However, the downside is the price. At around Rs. 5 lakhs, it firmly sits in ultra-premium territory.

The Hero Xoom 160 takes a different approach. It uses a similar liquid-cooled, 4-valve SOHC engine with a 14.8 PS and 14 Nm output, wrapped in aggressive maxi-scooter styling. It adds practical features like a Smart Key with remote seat opening, a large 240 mm front disc, and a higher 155 mm ground clearance. However, it weighs nearly 16 kg more when compared to the Aerox.

This is where the TVS NTorq 150 plays it smart. On paper, its 13.2 PS output is the lowest of the three. But it counters that with strong low-end punch and 115kg body weight, sprinting from 0–60 km/h in just 6.3 seconds. Pair that with a richer feature set, sharp hyper-sport styling, and a far more aggressive price point, and the NTorq 150 starts to look like the most balanced option. In fact, it undercuts the Aerox on value and challenges the Xoom 160 on style and usability. However, the 12-inch tires (100/80-section front and 110/80-section rear) on a scooter like this are underwhelming, especially when compared to the 14-inch options available on rival models.

If TVS Nepal prices it right, the NTorq 150 has a real chance to shake up a segment that has always been niche. Just like the NTorq 125 and Raider 125 changed their categories, this could be the scooter that finally makes the 150cc class more accessible.
