Tecno, as a brand, has been on my radar ever since they brought 120Hz to the entry-level segment with the Tecno Spark Go 1. The Spark Go 2 then introduced the FreeLink feature. And now, Nepal just got its third iteration with the Tecno Spark Go 3.

With each iteration, Tecno has been improving the Spark Go phones. Now, can the Spark’s latest iteration, the Go 3, keep that spark alive, or is it finally starting to fade?
What is the Price of Tecno Spark Go 3 in Nepal?
The Tecno Spark Go 3 price in Nepal starts at Rs. 15,999 for the 4/64GB and Rs. 16,999 for the 4/128GB variant. During the price-hike crisis, Tecno raised the Spark Go 2’s price by Rs. 1,000 — from Rs. 12,499 to Rs. 13,499 — which was a relief compared to what other brands were doing. But sadly, it looks like their new launches are finally catching up to the new pricing reality.
The phone has officially arrived in Nepal and is available for purchase at Tecno-authorized stores across the country.
With all the price hikes the smartphone market saw in 2026, the budget and entry-level segment has suffered the most. For buyers targeting this segment, even a mere Rs. 1,000 increase can feel like a hefty price tag. But if brands offered meaningful upgrades, a price bump wouldn’t be much of a concern. Some brands have successfully delivered exactly that: meaningful upgrades.
Does the Spark Go 3 deliver meaningful improvements, or is it essentially the Go 2 in a new shell? Let’s find out.

Tecno Spark Go 3 Overview
Ever since the first Spark Go 1 launched, the design has been changing with each iteration. The Spark Go 1 had that iPhone vibe. The Spark Go 2 was inspired by Samsung’s pill-shaped camera module, and now the Spark Go 3 has a mix of both, an iPhone-inspired camera plateau with a hint of the pill-shaped camera.
The phone ships in four color variants: Ink Black, Titanium Grey, Aurora Purple, and Galaxy Blue.
Flip it over, and you’ll find a major disappointment: the water drop notch has made an unwelcome return. I genuinely thought we’d moved past this, especially since the Spark Go 2 2024 ditched it years ago. It’s hard not to feel like Tecno is evolving in reverse.
Here’s the odd part: Tecno’s official specs mention a Dot Notch screen, but that’s simply not true. It’s a water drop notch, and it’s right there on the front.
The display specs are mostly identical to the Go 2: a 120Hz refresh rate on an IPS LCD panel with HD+ resolution. The only change is the screen size, which grows from 6.67 inches to 6.75 inches. Everything else remains the same since Go 1.
On durability, the Go 3 matches the Go 2 with IP64 dust and water resistance. Tecno also claims 1.2m drop resistance, though we’d recommend not testing that yourself.
Chipset-wise, there’s nothing new here either. The UNISOC T7250 returns for the third time in the Spark Go series. At this point, it feels like Tecno is playing it safe. It’s not entirely a bad thing, but at this price point, Ai+ Nova offers better performance with UNISOC 8200, and it’s a 5G chip.

The T7250 is paired with 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage. Tecno has dropped the 3GB variant this time around.
The microSD card slot isn’t mentioned in the official specs, but we expect it to return. Both previous Spark Go phones had one, and it’s standard for budget devices.
For the camera, the Go 3 is equipped with a 13MP main shooter with dual LED flash on the rear and an 8MP selfie shooter, the same setup we’ve seen since the first Spark Go. The battery department also remains familiar with a 5,000mAh unit paired with 15W fast charging.
Last time, the Go 2 came with full-fledged Android 15, which was an upgrade over the Go Edition we saw on the Go 1. But this time, nothing has changed; the Go 3 still runs the same Android 15 with HiOS 15 on top, which is quite a disappointment.
Freelink 2.0
The raw specs on the Go 3 look pretty much the same as the Go 2. The only notable upgrade is FreeLink 2.0.

With the Go 2, we saw the introduction of FreeLink, a feature that allows you to make phone calls and send messages even without cellular reception or an internet connection, using Bluetooth.
Now with the Go 3, Tecno has added FreeLink 2.0, which improves on the range. Previously, it was limited to 500m, but with FreeLink 2.0, you get a reliable experience within a 1.5km radius in open and unobstructed areas.

I’m going to be really honest here. Tecno seems to be losing that “spark” with each iteration of the Go series. The first one, Go 1, stood out with a 120Hz refresh rate on a budget; the second, Go 2, was acceptable considering Tecno didn’t hike the price much, but the third one, Go 3, has very little redeeming value.
Tecno made a few tweaks to the design, yet almost everything else remains the same, even the Android version. The only things that are genuinely new are FreeLink 2.0 and the price tag.
At this point, it feels like Tecno is coasting on the goodwill the Go 1 built rather than pushing the series forward. FreeLink 2.0 is a neat addition, but a wider range and a single feature upgrade aren’t enough to justify a price bump when rivals are offering more for less.
