Honor Play10 Overview

Design and Display

Being an entry-level phone, companies often don’t put much emphasis on design, and that’s quite evident with the Honor Play10.

The phone looks rather plain with its flat plastic frame and back, blending into the vast crowd of budget smartphones. The waterdrop-style selfie notch adds to its “budget” look, though Honor does make up for it slightly by offering an IP52 rating, which is a nice touch at this price point.

On the back, you’ll find a square camera module that at first glance looks like a dual setup, but in reality, it only houses a single camera, more on that later.

Turning to the front, the 6.74-inch LCD panel comes with an HD+ resolution, resulting in a modest pixel density of 260ppi. It’s a similar setup to the Redmi A7.

The downside, however, is the refresh rate. Unlike the Redmi A7, which offers a 120Hz panel, the Honor Play10 is limited to 90Hz.

Hardware and Other

The fan-favorite MediaTek Helio G81 SoC powers the Honor Play10. It is the same silicon that phones like the Redmi 15C, Motorola Moto G06 Power, and Honor’s own X6c rely on.

For now, the Honor Play10 is finally losing its crown as one of the most affordable smartphones in Nepal. But then again, not every brand has raised prices across its lineup to the same extent.

And who knows? If the current trend continues, the Play10 might once again find itself back at the top of the budget segment. Not because it got cheaper, but because everything else got even more expensive.

In terms of memory, the phone comes with 3GB or 4GB of RAM paired with 64GB or 128GB of storage. While it is acceptable for the price, the limited RAM does reveal its shortcomings when multitasking or switching between apps.

This hardware limitation likely explains why Honor opted for Android 15 Go Edition instead of the standard Android. While the storage capacity is also on the lower side, Honor softens the blow with a dedicated microSD card slot that supports up to 1TB of external storage.

Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery, which should comfortably last a full day of use. However, charging is capped at 10W, meaning you’ll need some patience when topping it up.

Camera

Moving on to the cameras, the Honor Play10 keeps things simple with a single 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing shooter for selfies.

Both cameras are capable of recording videos at up to 1080p at 30fps, which is fairly standard for an entry-level device.

Honor Play10 Price in Nepal and Availability

The Honor Play10 price in Nepal is Rs. 17,499 (3/64GB) and Rs. 19,999 (4/128GB). The phone is available for purchase at official and authorized stores all across Nepal.

Honor Play10 Launch Price Current Price in Nepal
3/64GB Rs. 10,999 Rs. 17,499
4/128GB Rs. 12,999 Rs. 19,999

The Honor Play10 was genuinely one of the best picks in the entry-level segment. Sure, it had a few compromises, but it also offered enough strengths to make those shortcomings easy to overlook.

But does that recommendation still hold after the second price hike? Unfortunately, no. Phones like the Moto G06 Power and Redmi A7 Pro currently offer better overall value for less money.

That said, neither of them has been hit with a major price increase yet, and given the current market trend, that could change sooner rather than later. Until then, however, the G06 Power and Redmi A7 series remain the smarter buys.
