Samsung has raised the price of the Samsung Galaxy S22 in Nepal for the second time. The first price increase occurred just five months after the device’s launch, in July 2022, due to an increase in excise duty.
After the price hike, the Samsung Galaxy S22 price in Nepal is Rs. 1,24,999 (8/256GB). It is available for purchase at Samsung-authorized stores across Nepal.
The Galaxy S22 was initially launched at Rs. 1,12,999. In addition to the S22, Samsung has also raised the price of the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Although the S22+ was previously affected by the first price hike in July 2022, it remains unchanged in this latest adjustment.
At its Galaxy Unpacked event on February 9, 2022, Samsung showed off the Samsung Galaxy S22 series and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series. And within a month, Samsung Galaxy S22 Series was open for pre-order in Nepal.
The Galaxy S22 series includes the Galaxy S22, S22+, and the heavily hyped S22 Ultra. The Samsung Galaxy S22 is the series’ smallest and least expensive device.
In this article, we will be focusing on the Samsung Galaxy S22’s specs and features.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Overview
The Samsung Galaxy S22, like the S22+, is very similar to its predecessor, with no significant differences, unlike the S22 Ultra. It has the same Countour Cut rear camera design housing that blends into the phone’s frame, has a flat-screen, and is IP68 rated.
The back of the glass, on the other hand, is made of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ this time, as opposed to the previously used plastic back. For the frame, Samsung has used its Armor Aluminium metal.
The other changes are that the camera housing matches the phone’s body colour and the sides are now flat.

It sports a 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, which is slightly smaller than the S21’s display but by only 0.1 inches. Unlike the larger S22+, the S22’s peak brightness remained unchanged from its predecessor at 1300nits.
It’s an FHD+ display with a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The display features an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and is topped with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ for protection.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 comes with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.
The chipset is built on a 4nm process and is designed in a tri-cluster structure comprised of a single powerful Arm Cortex-X2 flagship-core, three performance and efficiency-balanced Cortex-A710 big-cores, and four power-efficient Cortex-A510 little-cores.
For the GPU, Snapdragon has an Adreno 730.
Unlike the S22+, it does not support Wi-Fi 6E. For the memory, it comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

It has the same camera layout as the bigger Galaxy S22+. It has a 50MP main camera, up from 12MP, a 10MP telephoto camera, down from 64MP, and the same 10MP ultra-wide camera.
The main camera, according to Samsung, is 23% larger when compared to the S21 or S21 Plus, resulting in better details in low-light conditions. The new telephoto lens zooms even further than the S21’s 1.1x optical zoom, with a 3x optical zoom.
The 10MP front-facing camera is unchanged. For the video, the rear camera can shoot up to 8K at 24 fps, while both the front and rear can record up to 4K UHD at 60 fps.
Battery and Others
The Samsung Galaxy S22 has a smaller 3700mAh battery and it supports 25W fast charging—the S22+ and the S22 Ultra support up to 45W. The wireless charging, on the other hand, supports up to 15W.
In terms of software, the phone comes with One UI 4.1 on top of Android 12 out-of-the-box. Samsung has committed to providing four generations of Android OS upgrades.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Price in Nepal and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy S22 price in Nepal is Rs. 1,24,999 (8/256GB). It is available for purchase at Samsung-authorized stores across Nepal.
Initially, the Galaxy S22 was priced at Rs. 1,12,999. But in July 2022, Samsung hiked the price of the Galaxy S22, along with the S22+ and S22+ Ultra, by Rs. 6,000 in response to the decision by the Government of Nepal to hike the excise duty from 2.5% to 5%.
Again in January 2023, just before the launch of the Galaxy Fold 4 and Flip 4, Samsung increased the price of the Galaxy S22 by Rs. 6,000. The price of the Galaxy S22 Ultra was also raised alongside it, while the price of the S22 Plus remains the same.

Compared to the S21, the S22 is slightly smaller and boxier. The camera housing now matches the color of the body and has a glass back. It also has a new main camera and telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ are very similar in terms of design and features, with only a few exceptions. Apart from the display and battery sizes, some of the differences between the two are the peak brightness, Wi-Fi standards support, and fast charging support.
The S22 has 1300nits of display brightness (the S22+ has 1750nits), does not support Wi-Fi 6E (the S22+ does), and only supports up to 25W fast charging (the S22+ supports up to 45W). It also lacks Ultra Wideband (UWB) support, which the S22+ does.
