Motorola Edge 70 Fusion With 7000mAh Battery & 144Hz AMOLED Display Launching Soon in Nepal

 HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion price in Nepal could start at Rs. 59,999 (8/128GB).
  • It runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3/4 SoC and a massive 7,000mAh battery.
  • It features a 50MP Sony LYT 710 main camera with an 13MP ultrawide sensor.

Motorola has been launching some impressive phones at competitive prices despite the ongoing price hikes. Its recent launch, the Moto G57 Power, is a great example of this. And Motorola doesn’t seem to be slowing down, as they are set to launch the all-new Motorola Edge 70 Fusion in Nepal.

Among Motorola’s various offerings, the Edge family represents the brand’s mid-to-high-tier smartphones. And within the Edge family, the Fusion variants are upper mid-range smartphones with a quad-curved display, upgraded cameras, and bigger batteries.

The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion brings all of that as the successor to the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion, which was unfortunately not launched in Nepal.

The Edge 70 Fusion brings several upgrades over its predecessor, the Edge 60 Fusion, including a larger battery, a more powerful chipset, and improved cameras. However, the Edge 60 Fusion was never launched in Nepal, with the Edge 50 Fusion being the last phone from the series to make its way to the Nepali market.

With a promising set of features, the Edge 70 Fusion could be a strong contender in its segment. So, let’s see what it has to offer!

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion Overview

Like most recent Motorola phones, the Edge 70 Fusion features a quad-curved design with the brand’s signature camera bump and iconic Motorola logo. However, what sets it apart is the fabric finish on the back, which gives the phone a distinctive look while adding a premium touch.

In terms of durability, the Edge 70 Fusion retains the IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance from the Edge 60 Fusion. Likewise, the front glass protection remains unchanged, with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

The phone is available in five PANTONE color options: Silhouette, Blue Surf, Orient Blue, Sporting Green, and Country Air.

Up front, the display gets several upgrades. It is now slightly larger at 6.78 inches, and Motorola has replaced the 120Hz P-OLED panel with a faster 144Hz 1.5K AMOLED display. Peak brightness has also increased to 5,200 nits, up from 4,200 nits on the Edge 60 Fusion.

The display is Pantone Validated for color accuracy and uses a 10-bit panel with DCI-P3 color gamut and HDR10+ support, promising a more vibrant and accurate viewing experience.

There is a slight variation in terms of performance depending on the market. The global variant gets the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, whereas the Indian variant is powered by the newer Snapdragon 7s Gen 4.

While both chipsets are quite similar, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 features a slightly higher-clocked prime core and supports faster LPDDR5X memory, giving it a slight edge over the Gen 3. Motorola typically launches the global variant of its phones in Nepal. However, in this case, the differences between the two variants are relatively minor, so the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 should not make a significant difference in everyday use.

In terms of memory, the Edge 70 Fusion is available with 8GB or 12GB of RAM, paired with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage. However, the 12GB RAM variant is only available with the 256GB and 512GB storage options.

Moving on to the cameras, the setup remains largely unchanged from the Edge 60 Fusion, with a 50MP main camera and a 13MP ultrawide camera. However, Motorola has upgraded the main sensor from the Sony LYTIA 700C on the Edge 60 Fusion to the newer Sony LYTIA 710 on the Edge 70 Fusion.

Both sensors have the same physical size, but the newer LYTIA 710 is optimized for low-light photography, which should help improve image quality in challenging lighting conditions. On the front, it runs the same 32MP selfie camera as the Edge 60 Fusion.

The interesting bit about the Edge 70 Fusion is its battery. In India, it is available with a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon (Si/C) battery, while other markets get a choice between 5,200mAh and 7,000mAh battery capacities. We might not get a choice of battery capacity in Nepal either. However, considering the current market and the demand for larger batteries, Motorola could launch the 7,000mAh variant here as well.

The Edge 70 Fusion comes with Android 16 out of the box and is set to receive three major Android version upgrades and five years of security updates.

The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion looks like a strong addition to Motorola’s lineup in Nepal. The 144Hz 1.5K AMOLED display, 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 main sensor, and 7,000mAh Si/C battery are some of its biggest strengths, while the overall package doesn’t seem to have any glaring weaknesses on paper.

The biggest question, however, will be its price in Nepal. If Motorola manages to keep the pricing around the expected Rs. 59,999 mark, the Edge 70 Fusion could be a very competitive option in its segment. We’ll have to wait for the official launch to see exactly how Motorola positions the phone in Nepal.
