Samsung has already launched its latest foldable Galaxy Z Flip 4 in Nepal. Originally scheduled for release within a few days of its global debut in August, the launch of the phone was delayed due to Nepal’s import ban.

After the ban on importing mobile phones over $300 had been lifted, Samsung released the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Fold 4 in the country.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 Overview

Design

The Samsung Galaxy Flip 4 has the same clamshell design that folds and unfolds vertically as its predecessor. It becomes an extremely compact phone when folded, with a height of just 84.9mm. It’s slightly smaller than the Z Flip 3 (86.4 mm).

When partially folded, the FlexCam is activated. It lets users take videos and photos at various angles by partially folding the phone. It can also be used as a stand on its own to shoot pictures by folding the phone 90 degrees.

The outer glass panel is built with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+. The frame, which is made up of Armor Aluminium, is now flatter than before. For protection against water, it is IPX8 certified.

Latest Mobile Prices

The cover screen of the Fold 4 remained the same size as last year, but it now can do more, including setting GIFs or videos as wallpaper, turning on/off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Flashlight, showing photo previews, making calls, and replying to texts.

Display

The 1.9-inch Super AMOLED cover screen on the Fold 4 remained the same size as last year.

The main foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X display is also the same, measuring 6.7 inches diagonally and having a peak brightness of 1200nits, but the bezels are now smaller. Samsung says that the main screen has an improved Ultra Thin Glass.

Hardware

The Z Flip 4 is also powered by the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 process, which powers the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, the 8+ Gen 1 processor’s 4nm fabrication process boasts better performance and is more efficient.

The phone comes with 8GB RAM combined with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB storage. Only the 256GB variant is available in Nepal.

Camera

In addition to a 12MP ultrawide camera on the back, there is a new 12MP primary camera with OIS on the Z Flip 4. Samsung says it has a 65 percent brighter sensor and a bigger pixel size of 1.8 microns than the Z Flip 3’s 1.4 microns.

On the front, it has the same 10MP selfie camera. But for selfies, users can use the rear camera, especially now that it allows users to capture selfies in any aspect ratio when viewing from the cover screen.

Battery and OS

Another upgrade on the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is the battery. It now has a 3700mAh battery, up from 3300mAh. And it now supports 25W fast charging (the Z Flip 3 only supported 15W).

The phone comes with One UI 4.1.1 on top of Android 12.
