Samsung has hiked the price of the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G in Nepal by Rs. 1,000. The phone was launched in the country in April 2022.

This is the second time Samsung has changed the price of the product. Before this, the company had dropped the price by Rs. 5,000. And now, it has increased the price by Rs. 1,000. Now, the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G price in Nepal is Rs. 42,999 (8/128GB). It is available at all Samsung authorized stores across Nepal.

It was launched alongside the more expensive A series Samsung Galaxy A53 5G and Samsung Galaxy A73 5G smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy A33 5G is a mid-range device that sits between the Galaxy A23 and Galaxy A53. It is powered by the same brand-new Exynos 1280 processor as the Galaxy A53.

Design

The Samsung Galaxy A33 5G features a plastic frame and back and comes in four different colours: Awesome Black, Awesome White, Awesome Blue, and Awesome Peach.

Like the rest of the Galaxy A series devices, the rear camera island seamlessly blends with the body of the phone. Samsung calls this camera design the “Ambient Edge design.”

The device is rated IP67 for water and dust resistance. For the buttons, both the power and volume buttons are located on the left side of the device. Sadly, we do not get a headphone jack with it.

Display

The phone’s display is 0.1-inch smaller than the A53’s at 6.4 inches. It’s a Super AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Samsung has given the Galaxy A33 an Infinity-U display and a thick chin, which makes the device look cheap and outdated compared to other phones in this price range. I presume Samsung did this to differentiate it from the more expensive A53 5G.

Hardware

Powering the smartphone is Samsung’s own Exynos 1280 chipset. It’s a new chipset with a 5G modem built on a 5nm process node that also powers the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G.

The SoC has an octa-core CPU consisting of two 2.4GHz ARM Cortex-A78 cores and six 2.0GHz ARM Cortex-A55 cores, and a 4-core ARM Mali-G68 GPU ticked at 1000MHz.

These are the same combination of CPU and GPU found on the MediaTek Dimensity 900, which powers the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G. But the Exynos’s GPU clock speed is higher than the Dimensity 900 by 100MHz.

The phone comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Moreover, it features a stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support.

Camera

The rear camera island houses a quad-camera setup comprising a 48MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The main camera features an OIS.

On the front, the A33 has a 13MP selfie camera. The phone can shoot 4K video at 30fps.

Battery and OS

The Samsung A33 5G comes with a 5000mAh battery. It supports 25W fast charging, but unfortunately, the fast charger is not provided in the box.

For software, the Galaxy A33 runs on Android 12 topped with One UI 4.1. Samsung promises to give four generations of One UI and Android OS upgrades and up to five years of security updates.

The Samsung Galaxy A33 5G price in Nepal is Rs. 42,999 (8/128GB). It is available at all Samsung authorized stores across Nepal.

When it was first released in April, the price was Rs. 46,999. Then after almost three months, the company cut the price by Rs. 5,000. And now, it raised the price by Rs. 1,000.

The Samsung Galaxy A33 5G has the same chipset and design as the more expensive Samsung Galaxy A53 5G. However, the A33 has an outdated Infinity-U notch and a 90Hz refresh rate, compared to A53’s Infinity-O display and 120Hz display.

The specs of the Exynos 1280 are similar to the Snapdragon 778G and the Dimensity 900. Also, the A33 5G does not support a headphone jack.
