POCO M8 Pro Launching This Week in Nepal with 100W Fast Charging

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The POCO M8 Pro price in Nepal could be Rs. 57,499 (8/256GB).
  • The M8 Pro boots on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset.
  • It’s powered by a massive 6,500mAh battery and supports 100W fast charging.

POCO has always had your back when it comes to offering maximum performance at a lower price, better power, bigger battery, and nice displays, with a bit of a compromise on the camera. Their recent releases, like X7 Pro and F8 Pro, say exactly that. Now, POCO is bringing the M8 Pro to Nepal alongside the M8s very soon. We have already covered the M8s, so here we will primarily focus on the M8 Pro.

Just like the M8s bore a striking resemblance to the Redmi 15 5G in both specs and design, the M8 Pro has its own Redmi twin, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+. So the question is, is this just the same phone wearing a different badge, or does the POCO M8 Pro actually bring something new to the table? Let’s find out.

Before we get into the overview, it is worth understanding where the M8 Pro fits in POCO’s lineup. The X series sits at the top, covering the performance flagship space. The F series handles the semi-premium segment. And the M series sits below both, POCO’s more budget-friendly offering.

What makes this launch extra special is that this is the first M series phone to enter Nepal since POCO came out of its long hibernation.

After going quiet in January 2024 with no new launches for over a year, POCO woke up in early 2026 with a string of solid releases. And now, with the M8 Pro, POCO is finally completing the lineup in Nepal. Hopefully, the momentum continues.

POCO M8 Pro Overview

Starting with the dimensions, the M8 Pro looks identical to the Redmi Note 15 Pro+. The height and width are exactly the same down to the millimeter. The M8 Pro’s thickness sits slightly different at 8.3mm, which is likely due to the fact that it runs a full plastic back as opposed to the Note 15 Pro+’s silicon or fiber-reinforced plastic.

POCO M8 Pro IP Rating

Just like the Redmi Note 15 Pro+, the phone is flat with a slight 4D curve on both the front and back. Durability is also a strong point here, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front, and an impressive ingress protection rating that goes not just IP66, not just IP68, but all the way up to IP69K.

While the dimensions and camera module may look familiar, the color options on the POCO M8 Pro feel a lot more lively: Black, Silver, and Green. Each variant also features a subtle gradient shade that slides down the middle of the back, which looks genuinely cool.

The display is also pretty impressive. The 6.83-inch screen puts it firmly in the big phone category, and it comes with a 1.5K resolution AMOLED panel. Peak brightness goes up to 3,200 nits, with 1,800 nits in HBM mode.

Moving to performance, the M8 Pro runs the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. Yes, it’s the same chip found in the Redmi Note 15 Pro+, so performance should be on par. The phone ships with 8GB of RAM paired with 256GB of internal storage. While the numbers look solid on paper, it is worth noting that the RAM is LPDDR4x and the storage is UFS 2.2, older generation memory, which means slower access times and could lead to slight lags when multitasking heavily or loading large files.

POCO M8 Pro Camera

The camera is where things differ slightly. The M8 Pro runs a dual camera setup, a 50MP main and an 8MP ultrawide. For reference, the Note 15 Pro+ had a 200MP main camera, so it is a noticeable step down. But the camera has never been POCO’s focus, so a more modest setup is livable.

What is encouraging, though, is that the 50MP main sensor is the Light Fusion 800, the same sensor found in the much more premium Xiaomi 17T. That is a promising sign for image quality. On the front, there is a 32MP selfie shooter, exactly the same as the Note 15 Pro+.

The battery department is also very strong, with a 6,500mAh Si/C unit. And while 6,000mAh+ batteries are becoming increasingly common, what truly sets this apart is the 100W wired charging, well ahead of what most rivals offer at this price. There is also 22W reverse wired charging, so it doubles as a mini power bank that can actually fast charge other devices.

On the software front, it is a bit disappointing that the phone boots on Android 15, especially when the POCO F8 Pro launched earlier this year and still shipped with Android 16.

Either way, Android 15 comes wrapped in Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2, with a promise of 4 major OS upgrades. Though realistically, one of those will be spent just bringing the phone up to the current Android 16, leaving only three meaningful updates ahead.

The POCO M8 Pro looks like a genuinely strong contender on paper. And just like with the M8s, what gives me the most confidence here is not the specs, it is POCO’s track record. They have consistently shown up with aggressive pricing that makes their phones hard to ignore, and I am hoping the M8 Pro is no different.

The phone has not officially launched in Nepal just yet. But at the expected pricing, the M8 Pro could easily stand out from the crowd, with strong performance, and 100W fast charging at this price is hard to beat.

That said, if you want more from your camera, the Nothing Phone (4a) is a solid alternative. And if you are after something more unique, like the cheapest wireless charging available in Nepal, the Infinix Note 60 Pro is right there waiting.
