OPPO A52 with Stereo Speakers and Snapdragon 665 Launched in Nepal

Alongside the OPPO A31, OPPO has launched the OPPO A52 in Nepal too. It’s a more premium option than the A31 but it is still a mid-range smartphone.

Oppo A52 price in Nepal is Rs. 29,990 and it’s available in 4GB RAM /128GB ROM variant only.

Oppo A52 adapts the trading design of the rectangular camera module and punch-hole display.

Oppo A52 Overview

Design

Oppo A52 uses a similar design as that of Oppo A92. It feels like just another mid-ranger with a rectangular camera module along which is similar to Vivo V19.

It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and comes with a stereo speaker setup. On the rear, it has a glossy finish on a polycarbonate back.

Upfront, it has a hole-punch display minimal bezels all around.

Oppo A52 comes in two colors: Twilight Black and Stream White.

Display

Oppo A52 comes with a 6.5 inches IPS LCD display. It’s an FHD+ display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 90.5% screen-to-body ratio.

They are calling it a 1080P Neo-Display but we have to get our hands on it to know what the Neo-Display actually does.

Hardware

Underneath the hood, Oppo A52 is rocking a Snapdragon 665 chipset. It’s built-in 11nm process and has Octa-core (4×2.0 GHz Kryo 260 Gold & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 260 Silver) CPU along with Adreno 610 GPU.

To top it off, Oppo A52 comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage.

Snapdragon 665 is a good chipset but as of now the Snapdragon 665 feels underwhelming compared to new chipsets.

Camera

Oppo always focuses on cameras than any other thing on its smartphone. With the Oppo A52, we get an AI Quad Camera with a 12MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor.

Upfront, it has a 16MP camera for selfies.

The rear camera supports videos up to 4K 30fps and 1080p@30/60/120fps. While the front camera can capture up to 1080p@30fps.

Battery and OS

Oppo A52 has a big 5000 mAh battery that can last you more than a day.

And it comes with an 18W fast charger as well.

Furthermore, Oppo A52 runs on Color OS 7.1 on top of Android 10.

Oppo A52 is available in Nepal at Rs. 29,990. And, it’s now available in retail stores.

Oppo A52 has good hardware but it’s not competitive if we compare it to Redmi Note 9 Pro and Realme 6.  While Snapdragon 665 is a decent chipset, it is behind compared to the likes of Snapdragon 720G and Helio G90T.

Furthermore, it also doesn’t have a 48MP or 64MP camera either. Well, megapixels count really doesn’t matter and we shall wait to see how its camera performs in real life.

The thing that makes it unique is its stereo sound setup. Not many phones under Rs. 30,000 have stereo speakers.

Oppo A52 looks decent but it’s definitely on the expensive side. But I would like to get my hands on it to see if it has good enough cameras to balance its performance deficiency.
