Nothing has been on a solid streak with its mid-range lineup. Just look at the (3a) series. And as one of the more exciting smartphone brands for tech enthusiasts like me, I was genuinely excited about their 2026 midrange releases, i.e., the Nothing Phone (4a) and Nothing Phone (4a) Pro. Now that the phone has arrived in Nepal, the prices look even more exciting.

The Nothing Phone (3a) has set the bar pretty high. In fact, it held the spot as one of the best phones around Rs. 50,000 for a good part of mid-2025, at least until competitors like the Infinix GT 30 Pro and OnePlus Nord CE 5 arrived. Even then, the legacy of the Phone (3a) still lingers, which means the Phone (4a) has a lot to live up to.
What is the Price of Nothing Phone (4a) in Nepal?
Last year, CG Mobile, the official distributor of Nothing phones in Nepal, opened pre-bookings almost immediately after the global debut. This time around, they took like a week to do so, which isn’t that long of a wait.
The Nothing Phone (4a) debuted globally on March 5, while the pre-booking in Nepal opened on March 12. As for the cost, the Nothing Phone (4a) price in Nepal is Rs 55,999 (8/128GB), Rs 60,999 (8/256GB), and Rs 67,999 (12/256GB).
Seriously… not bad! It’s less than our expected starting price of Rs 59,999 and just Rs 4,000 more than (3a)’s starting price! That’s seriously impressive considering Redmi Note 15 Pro+ jumped Rs 10,000 between generations.
Additionally, you can get the CMF Buds 2 Plus for free if you manage to be among the first 350 customers to snag the phone. That’s a product worth Rs 8,999, by the way!
If you’re wondering what exactly Nothing did to set the bar so high, let me give you a quick flashback. The design was clean, the Essential Key was surprisingly useful, performance was solid for the price, and most importantly, the 2x optical telephoto lens was the standout for the segment.
Now with the Nothing Phone (4a), the company has removed a few things while upgrading others. But the real question is: Can it live up to the hype of its predecessor, or will it fall short? Let’s dive into the overview and find out:

Nothing Phone (4a) Overview
The Nothing Phone (4a) immediately stands out in the mid-range segment with its striking, transparent design. Inspired by an owl, the cameras resemble eyes while the internal components form the body, giving it a brutalist, industrial vibe.
Honestly, the phone looks both different and similar to the previous model. What’s different is that the Glyph Light has now been replaced by a Glyph Bar, which features 63 mini LEDs spread across six addressable zones.
According to Nothing, these LEDs are 40% brighter than those on previous models. As for usage, you can use them for essential notifications and as a progress tracker.
What remains similar is the elongated camera island, although it has now been shifted slightly toward the top. Build quality remains mostly the same with a plastic frame, but this time the front display gets Gorilla Glass 7i protection, while the back continues to use Panda Glass.
The button arrangement has also been changed compared to last year. The volume rocker and power button now sit on the right, while the Essential Key is placed on the left. This is a fairly common layout seen on most smartphones.

Nothing has also introduced a new Pink color, bringing the Nothing Phone (4a) lineup to four options: White, Black, Blue, and Pink.
The display is where you see the biggest upgrade. It’s a 1.5K resolution screen packed into a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel, pushing the pixel density to 440 PPI. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S26 has a 411 PPI display. So technically, the Phone (4a) should produce a slightly crisper image. Besides that, HBM brightness now hits 1,600 nits.

The next major upgrade comes in the camera department, specifically the telephoto lens. The Phone (4a) now features a 50MP periscope telephoto camera instead of a standard telephoto lens. While this allows the phone to zoom up to 3.5x optically, the aperture now sits at ƒ/2.88, which is lower than the Nothing Phone (3a)‘s ƒ/2.0.

The rest of the camera setup remains unchanged, including a 50MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide, and a 32MP selfie shooter.
As for hardware, there are substantial upgrades, though they are not particularly exciting. The phone now runs the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. However, when compared to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 used in the Nothing Phone (3a), the performance gap is fairly negligible.
With the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, the Phone (4a) comes with up to 12GB RAM paired with either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Powering everything is a 5,080mAh battery, which is fine. But seeing a 5,400mAh cell on the Indian variant really makes you want a piece of that pie. Charging remains unchanged with 50W fast charging support.

Moving on to the UI, there’s hardly anything bad to say about Nothing OS. Previous versions looked clean and minimal, and the brand has built a reputation for delivering a solid software experience. The Phone (4a) ships with Nothing OS 4.1, which is based on Android 16.
However, software support remains somewhat weak, with only three years of OS upgrades and six years of security updates.

The Nothing Phone (4a) fixes some of the shortcomings of the Nothing Phone (3a). It now gets a better display with Gorilla Glass protection, which was missing last time, a more capable telephoto camera, and a slightly larger battery… slightly. These upgrades collectively do make the phone more appealing to potential buyers.
On top of that, the phone has been priced super competitively. This phone costs just Rs 1,000 more than the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ for the same variants, and yes, the battery and charging are leagues below Redmi. BUT those are trade-offs I will happily make for a periscope telephoto and not having to see the annoying ads!
