The Honor x8c was one of the most affordable 512GB phones available in the market, but it had issues. If you look at its specs, you immediately understand why. Now, the phone has been succeeded by the newer Honor X8d.

It brings some genuine upgrades over its predecessor, but also jumps quite significantly in price. How much, really?
What is the Price of the Honor X8d in Nepal?
The Honor X8d price in Nepal is Rs 39,999 and Rs 43,999 for the 8/128GB and 8/256GB variants, respectively. The starting price is right on the money for what we guessed, but we were totally off on the higher variant.
We thought Honor would bring an 8/512GB variant just like last year because it was one of the defining features of X8c, but here we are. Then again, we did anticipate Honor introducing lower variants to curb the price hike, as they did with the Honor X9d, so partial credit, I guess.
The phone launched on 8 April 2026, alongside the flagship Magic 8 and X8b tablet. As for offers, customers can get the Honor Choice Earbuds X7e Active worth Rs 3,999 for absolutely free. This offer lasts until the end of April.
While the price has gone up, Honor X8d does bring a good number of changes compared to the X8c, which is a pretty rare sight in the budget and lower midrange segment. This does make the phone a lot more compelling than before.
However, is it enough to make the Honor X8d a popular choice? Let’s dive in:
Honor X8d Overview
Right from the get-go, we see changes as the Honor X8d looks quite a bit different from its predecessor. While the X8c had four protrusions in the back and a pill-shaped camera cutout on the front, the X8d has three protrusions and a hole-punch selfie camera cutout. The X8d actually resembles the Honor 400 Lite very closely.
The phone comes with an upgraded ingress protection, now with an IP65 rating. It is also SGS 5-star certified for 2-metre drop resistance.

On the front, we have a 6.77-inch AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It is a 10-bit panel with 1.07 billion colour coverage and can reach 1,300 nits in high-brightness mode.
It is powered by the new Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chipset, which seems to be the same one as on the Vivo Y31d. But Vivo is calling it “Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 4G” instead. So, there seems to be confusion about what this chip’s name is exactly.
As for the variants, the Honor X8d comes in 8/128GB and 8/256GB variants, which is a step away from its predecessor, which only came in the 8/512GB variant. This is likely to soften the effect of the price hike as we discussed earlier.

Moving on, we have one of the biggest upgrades in this phone, and that is the battery. The Honor X8d now packs a 7,000mAh cell, a 40% jump from the previous model. The charging speed has also gone up, now reaching 45W.
The camera department, on the other hand, is mostly the same. The rear camera setup still includes a 108MP main sensor and a 5MP ultrawide. Meanwhile, the front camera has dropped down to 16MP from the previous 50MP.
As for the software side of things, this phone boots on MagicOS 10 based on Android 16. The company talks a lot about AI, but one thing caught my eye the most. We now have a dedicated AI button and AI Memory, pretty much a one-to-one copy of “Essential Space”, Nothing introduced with the Phone (3a) series.

I found the feature pretty handy and absolutely loved it, so I don’t mind Honor presenting their take on the same feature.

Honor phones have built a reputation for having a big battery in the Nepali market. But that was not true for Honor X8c, which “only” had a 5,000mAh cell. Not only does the Honor X8d fix that with a massive 7,000mAh cell, but it also brings an improvement in almost all categories.
But those improvements come with a massive jump in price. To put the full picture into perspective, the Honor X8c offered 512GB storage at just Rs. 33,999. But now, paying nearly 18% more money only gives a fourth of the storage.
The price surge has been very, very harsh, is all we can say.
