Infinix Hot 70 Pro Finally Launched in Nepal With a 5G Chipset

Infinix has always been that brand that isn’t afraid to offer something new and exciting in their lineup. Just look at the Note 60 series, where they offered not just a dot matrix display, but also wireless charging, a feature usually reserved for premium and flagship offerings. Even in the budget segment, they’re not afraid to try something different, like the Hot 70’s heat-sensitive back panel. Now, Infinix Nepal is bringing in the Hot 70 Pro.

They’ve even teased the phone with what looks like a camera module carrying a dot matrix display, again, something unique. So what does this phone actually have in store? Let’s find out, starting with its price.

What is the Price of Infinix Hot 70 Pro in Nepal?

The Infinix Hot 70 Pro price in Nepal starts at Rs. 52,999 (8/128GB) and goes up to Rs. 56,999 (8/256GB). Compared to its predecessor, the Hot 60 Pro, which launched at just Rs. 20,999, we’re looking at a price jump of Rs. 32,000.

But then again, a lot has happened this year, and we’ve seen smartphone prices touch the sky across the board, so I guess it’s not really a surprise at this point.

And if you’re eyeing the Hot 70 Pro, you can grab it via Infinix’s authorized stores across the country.

When you look at the predecessor of the Hot 70 Pro, the Hot 60 Pro, it didn’t just have some of the best specs for a budget smartphone, it was also priced very aggressively. And the best part was that the phone didn’t feel budget at all, it actually felt semi-premium.

So with that legacy to follow, the Infinix Hot 70 Pro has big shoes to fill. Let’s see if it manages to live up to them.

Infinix Hot 70 Pro Overview

The Infinix Hot 70 Pro looks almost identical to its predecessor. The only major difference you’ll find is in the camera module, where the three-camera setup on the predecessor sat within a single pill-shaped module, while this time there are three separate camera cutouts instead.

Comparing the 70 Pro with its smaller sibling, the Hot 70, I actually prefer the Hot 70’s more compact camera module design; it looked a bit more premium in comparison.

Among the three camera cutouts, the bottom-most one isn’t actually a camera, but a small display Infinix calls the Active Matrix Cube. It’s essentially the same active matrix display concept we saw on the Infinix Note 60 Pro, just a lot more compact. Infinix even makes a similar “Fun On-the-go” claim, letting you play mini-games to pass time while commuting or interacting with friends. Besides that, it also displays notifications and call reminders, and is fully customizable.

This exact feature on the Note 60 Pro felt a bit gimmicky to me at first, but after actually using it, I found it to be a genuinely decent way to pass time during idle moments.

Flipping the phone over, the downgrades start with its 6.76-inch display, much like most entry-level and budget smartphones these days. Thankfully, they didn’t downgrade all the way to HD+ and stuck with an FHD+ resolution instead. If you remember, last year’s Hot 60 Pro featured a 1.5K AMOLED display.

Don’t get me wrong, the FHD+ panel here isn’t bad, it’s still well enough for most users. But the 440PPI crispness and accurate colors of the previous Hot 60 Pro’s display are missing here on the Hot 70 Pro, which settles for just 380PPI and an LCD panel instead.

Thankfully, the refresh rate still reaches up to 144Hz, which is a nice touch.

While the display has taken a bit of a downgrade, I’m okay with it since we finally got a genuine upgrade in the performance department, with a jump from a 4G to a 5G chipset. So the performance jump feels well earned in return.

The Hot 70 Pro runs a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset, which is about 30% faster than the old Helio G200 based on global AnTuTu scores, a much-needed upgrade. Paired with it is 8GB RAM, along with 128GB or 256GB of internal storage, plus support for a dedicated microSD card slot.

Moving to optics, which hasn’t really been the Hot series’ strong suit historically, it’s good to see Infinix cram in a 50MP Sony IMX 882 for its main camera. For users unfamiliar with it, it’s the same sensor used on much pricier phones like the POCO X8 Pro and POCO F7.

Now, these aren’t phones known for the best camera processing either, so we can expect similar detailing here. However, the overall colors and dynamic range should remain fairly consistent with what we’ve seen from that sensor elsewhere. Other than that, there’s an auxiliary lens alongside it. Up front, the selfie camera has actually been downgraded from 13MP to 8MP, though the aperture has improved from ƒ/2.2 to ƒ/2.0.

Also, another talking point for the Hot 60 Pro and 60 Pro+ was that it was one of the cheapest phones in Nepal to offer 2K video recording. It’s good to see that feature carried forward to the Hot 70 Pro, but at a price crossing Rs. 50,000, it doesn’t feel nearly as special as it once did.

The battery remains nothing to write home about, with a 6,000mAh unit. Just a year back, 6,000mAh would have been a genuinely strong number. But with so many smartphones now offering 6,000mAh or more as standard, the same capacity here feels a bit underwhelming in comparison. That said, it should still easily last a full day, and charging is handled via 45W wired fast charging.

Lastly, the phone ships with Android 16 and XOS 16 on top, backed by 3 major OS updates, just like its smaller sibling, the Hot 70.

From what I’ve been seeing with successors to 2025 smartphones this year, there’s almost always been a major downgrade somewhere, whether in performance, camera, or display, paired with a significant jump in pricing.

On the pricing front, the Hot 70 Pro suffers too, just like most smartphones launched in 2026. But on the performance side, it doesn’t fall into that same trap. In fact, the upgrade to the 5G chipset genuinely impressed me. Sure, the display is a bit less sharp and less color accurate than before, but the performance gains do a solid job of making up for it.

So while the Hot 70 Pro isn’t the aggressive value pick its predecessor was, it’s not a hollow upgrade either. It trades some display quality for real, tangible performance gains, and that’s a trade-off I can respect, even if the price tag makes it a much harder sell than the Hot 60 Pro ever was.
