Honor has launched the Pad X8b in Nepal, and it’s the brand’s first tablet to hit the market here in 2026. Along with it, they’ve also brought in the Magic 8 Pro and the Honor X8d. But here, we will primarily be talking about the Pad X8b.

As you probably know, Honor’s X series smartphones are known for their durability, and that’s what makes them stand out. But in Honor’s tablet lineup, that edge seems to be missing. So what does make it shine? Let’s jump in and see.
What is the Price of Honor Pad X8b in Nepal?
Honor officially launched three devices — one tablet and two smartphones — at the “Honor Magic of 8” event on April 8th. There, they revealed the Honor Pad X8b price in Nepal to start at Rs. 29,999 (4/128GB) for the Wi-Fi only model. The LTE variant, on the other hand, is slightly more expensive, coming in at Rs. 32,999 (4/128GB) and Rs. 39,999 (8/128GB).
Along with the tablet, you also get a free Honor Pad X8b Cover if you purchase the Pad X8b before April 30. Not only that, but the tablet is also available at 0% EMI as well, making it an even easier buy for those watching their budget. And if you are planning to pick up the Magic8 Pro anyway, Honor is essentially throwing in the Pad X8b for free with the purchase. Not a bad deal at all.
Let’s be honest, the budget tablet market in Nepal is not very competitive, and the variety is quite limited compared to the premium segment. Good budget tablets are hard to come by. So when Honor launched the Pad X7 at under Rs. 20,000 with decent specs, it was a big deal.
The only downside, at least for me, was the small screen size. It felt more like a large phone than an actual tablet. Now, to cater to users wanting a bigger screen experience, Honor has brought in the Pad X8b, and it comes with a massive battery to match. So, how does it hold up?

Honor Pad X8b Overview
The Honor Pad X8b is a big tablet, coming in at 11 inches corner to corner with a metal body, the same size as the Samsung Tab S10 Lite and the Redmi Pad 2. And much like the Redmi Pad 2, the camera module follows a similar pill-shaped design, though slightly thinner.

Speaking of thin, the tablet is surprisingly slim considering what powers it. It packs a massive 10,100mAh battery, and honestly, it is impressive how Honor squeezed that into a 7.25mm thin body.
However, Honor seems to have forgotten to give the Pad X8b decent charging speeds, and they’re sticking with 15W charging. So to fill that massive 10,100mAh unit at that speed, you will be waiting quite a while.
For durability, Honor does boast an SGS 5-Star Drop & Crush Resistance, but the tablet is missing an official ingress rating.
Moving to the display, it is a TFT LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. 120Hz would have been nice, but seeing Samsung offer the same display on tablets costing more than Rs. 50,000, it is hard to complain too much at this price point.
That said, what is more concerning is the pixel density, coming in at just 207ppi. This could make the display look slightly pixelated up close. Brightness sits at 500 nits, which is fine for indoors. Just avoid using it in direct sunlight, as it will struggle.

On a positive note, the audio is quite impressive. The Pad X8b comes with a quad speaker setup, making it clear that this device is built more for media consumption than raw performance.
And that brings us to the processor. The Pad X8b runs on the Snapdragon 680, a four-generation-old 4G chip. At this price range, a Helio G100 would have made far more sense, as it is one of the best 4G chips available right now.
With the SD680, you get 4GB or 8GB of RAM paired with 128GB of internal storage. A few games and apps will fill that up pretty quickly. Thankfully, the tablet supports a microSD card slot with up to 2TB of expandable storage.

As for the cameras, the 5MP front and rear setup is weak. But honestly, who is really taking photos on a tablet? Nevertheless, it should be more than enough for video calls and casual recording.
Lastly, the tablet ships with Android 16 wrapped in MagicOS 10. The Pad X8b also comes with a dedicated Parental Controls feature, allowing parents to set screen time limits, manage app access, and block inappropriate or malicious content, making it a safe and controlled device for younger users.

The Honor Pad X8b is a decent tablet, but it is hard to get fully excited about it. The massive 10,100mAh battery and the large 11-inch screen are genuinely great for the price, and for someone who just wants a big screen for Netflix and YouTube, it does the job well enough.
But the Snapdragon 680 is where it starts to fall apart for me. At this price, you are essentially paying for a big screen and a big battery, and not much else. The Redmi Pad 2 offers a more capable chip at a lower price and offers a similar viewing experience.
That said, if your priority is a big screen tablet with long battery life for casual use, and you are not too bothered about performance, the Pad X8b is not a bad pick. Just do not expect it to do much beyond media consumption.
