The Aprilia SR 175 is launching in Nepal soon. It will replace the SR 160 and marks the third major update in the SR lineup, as well as the second time Aprilia has increased engine displacement.

Delta Autocorp, the authorized distributor of Aprilia scooters in Nepal, is preparing to introduce this updated model. The SR 175 follows a familiar upgrade pattern. Aprilia first moved from 150cc to 160cc during the BS4 to BS6 transition. Now, it increases displacement again to 175cc by enlarging the bore. The overall design remains largely unchanged, with updated graphics being the most visible difference.
Since the change in distributorship, the brand has moved faster in bringing updated products to market, as seen with recent Vespa BS6 launches.
Official details such as pricing and launch timelines have not been confirmed. However, the SR 175 was recently displayed at Aprilia’s Exchange and Finance Mela, which signals that a launch is close.
What is the Price of Aprilia SR 175 in Nepal?
The Aprilia SR 175 price in Nepal has not yet been revealed.
Based on the changes, it is expected to cost more than the outgoing SR 160, which currently retails at Rs. 3.96 lakhs. The key updates include a larger engine, a new 5.0-inch TFT display with connectivity, and refreshed graphics. Since the rest of the package remains similar, the price increase is unlikely to be drastic. An estimated price of under Rs. 4.60 Lakhs seems reasonable.
According to Aprilia Nepal, the SR 175 is expected to launch within the next two months, although the timeline has not been officially confirmed. More details should become clear closer to launch, and updates will follow as information becomes available.
In a market largely dominated by 125cc and 150cc scooters, the SR 175 is positioned as a more performance-focused alternative. Does it achieve this goal? Let’s find out!

Aprilia SR 175 Overview
Design
The Aprilia SR 175 carries forward the brand’s aggressive, race-inspired design language seen on the previous model. It fully embraces a sporty, track-focused identity. Sharp body panels, bold graphics, and contrasting colour schemes inspired by the Aprilia RS 457 give it a strong and dynamic road presence.
Up front, it features a split-type LED headlamp neatly integrated into the apron. Angular LED DRLs enhance its aggressive look, while the sharply sculpted front fascia gives it a forward-leaning stance. Strong character lines across the apron add depth and visual tension. Wide handlebars, large mirrors, and a tightly wrapped front fender further reinforce its streetfighter-like appeal.

From the side, the SR 175 looks compact yet athletic. Layered body panels flow cleanly toward the rear, complemented by race-style graphics. The stepped seat design separates rider and pillion space, enhancing the sporty profile, although this setup can compromise comfort on longer rides. The 14-inch wheels with contrasting 5-spoke alloy designs add to its motorcycle-like stance.

At the rear, the sharp theme continues. An X-shaped LED tail lamp is neatly integrated into the pointed tail section, while the single-piece grab rail and slightly upswept profile complete the sporty look. The SR 175 will be available in two new colours: Matte Prismatic Dark and Glossy Tech White.

One key update is the new 5-inch TFT instrument cluster, replacing the earlier monochrome LCD unit. The display is more customisable and presents essential information in a clearer format. It also supports Bluetooth connectivity.
Performance
Aprilia SR 175 is powered by a 174.760.3cc, Single-Cylinder, 3-valve, 4-stroke, fuel-injection engine. It generates a max power of 13.26 PS at 7200 rpm and a max torque of 14.14 Nm at 6000 rpm. Moreover, it is mated to a CVT transmission with a 6-liter fuel tank capacity.

Engine displacement has increased by 14.4cc, achieved by enlarging the bore from 58mm to 60.6mm. This results in a gain of 2.26PS and 0.7Nm over the previous version. While the overall riding feel remains familiar, the added powertrain should improve responsiveness and refinement, especially at higher revs.
Apart from this change, it continues to use a BS6 OBD-II compliant Fuel-Injected iGet engine. As before, the iGet system delivers smooth throttle response through its refined FI setup, supported by a reliable starter motor, a larger airbox, and an optimised transmission.
Additional Details
Aprilia has not officially released separate dimensional details for the SR 175, but it is expected to remain identical to the SR 160. It keeps the overall riding feel familiar, but it also suggests that Aprilia has not addressed areas that could have been improved, such as limited storage, the underseat fuel filler placement, and the firm suspension setup.
Dimension-wise, it measures 1,985mm in length, 806mm in width, and 1,261mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,365mm. Suspension duties are handled by a 30mm telescopic fork at the front and a 5-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorber at the rear.
Ground clearance stands at 155mm, while kerb weight is rated at 118kg. Underseat storage remains limited to just 11 litres.
It runs on 14-inch wheels wrapped in 120/70-section tyres at both ends. Braking is handled by a 220mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum, with Single-channel ABS offered as standard.

Aprilia SR 175 Price in Nepal and Availability
As for the pricing, the Aprilia SR 175 price in Nepal is not yet official.
Based on the current SR 160 price of Rs. 3.96 lakhs, the SR 175 is expected to launch under Rs. 4.60 Lakhs. A more aggressive price would make it more competitive against rivals like the NTorq 150 and Aerox 155. However, pricing it significantly above that range would be difficult to justify, given the three updates it offers.
We will update this article as soon as official pricing and launch details are confirmed.

Rivals
Aprilia SR 160 rivals the Yamaha Aerox 155.
Yamaha and Aprilia take a similar approach to scooters, prioritizing performance over everything else. On paper, the Aprilia SR 175 narrows the gap with its increased displacement. It now trails the Aerox 155 by 1.74PS, a smaller difference compared to the previous 4PS gap with the SR 160. Despite this improvement, the Aerox 155 still leads in hardware. Yamaha’s VVA system gives it a more advanced engine setup and stronger overall performance. Practicality is also not in Aprilia’s favor, as the SR 175 retains just 11 litres of underseat storage, far less than the Aerox’s more usable 24.5-litre capacity.
The SR 175 does counter in a few areas. It is 8kg lighter, offers 5mm more ground clearance, and features a 10mm lower seat height, making it slightly more accessible. Pricing could be its strongest advantage, as it is expected to deliver a performance-focused experience at a lower cost than the Aerox.
Even so, the Yamaha Aerox 155 remains the more complete package. Beyond stronger hardware and a more advanced engine, Yamaha’s broader service network and after-sales support in Nepal give it a practical edge. In real-world ownership, reliability and support often outweigh marginal gains on the spec sheet.
