Best Phones Under 20000 in Nepal (October 2025 Updated)

Getting a smartphone under Rs. 20,000 can be quite nerve-wracking. For many of us, it is almost a month’s earnings. Given that, you would want to make the best possible decision. This is exactly why we’ve put together this list of “Best Phones Under 20,000 in Nepal”.

What to Expect?

While flagship phones and those costing over a lakh often generate a lot of buzz, the reality is that the phones costing under 20,000 are the most popular and perform the best (sales-wise) in Nepal.

These phones leave the shelves like hotcakes. But what can you expect in this price range? Well, let’s just say the basics done right. You can’t really expect a lot out of this segment, to be honest.

However, phones at this price are more than enough for an average Joe — or Ram Bahadur (iykyk, and if you don’t, here’s the reference).

Plastic frames and back panels are to be expected. Screens are mostly LCD with HD+ (~720p) resolution. UNISOC T606, T612, MediaTek Helio G81, and such are the usual suspects over here. These chipsets might outshine the other on a good day, but they tend to fall into the same lump.

They may appear to have a multi-camera system, but it’s just one camera. The others are there just for aesthetics and can’t actually take a photo. We receive the industry-standard 5,000mAh battery, and charging speeds can range from 15W to 45W.

The software is where it becomes obvious why these phones are so cheap. They are mostly flooded with ads, and bloatware is baked into the system.

Generally, phones at this price are mostly similar to one another, with one or two standout features. And sometimes these features are what make them one of the best phones in Nepal under 20,000 rupees!

*While this list is for the best phones under 20000 in Nepal, it may contain phones that exceed the price tag by up to Rs. 1,000. This is so that you don’t miss out on a solid choice due to a technicality.

5. Blackview Shark 9

Blackview Shark 9

Blackview Shark 9 has great specs for this price range. It comes with a 90Hz LCD screen, UNISOC T820 processor, a three-camera system with Samsung sensors, and boots on Android 14.

Rs. 20,999 (8/256GB)

UNISOC T820
50MP+2MP+2MP | 8MP
5,000mAh | 18W Fast Charging

  • Great performance
  • 256GB storage + expandable up to 2TB

Cons

  • Lack of brand value
  • Limited charging speed
  • A little bit pricier

Thoughts on Blackview Shark 9

I would have ranked the Shark 9 higher, had it not been from Blackview. It is actually the best-performing phone in this price range.

It comes with the UNISOC T820 processor, the most powerful chipset in this entire list. Other than that, it has 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, while also supporting up to 2TB of storage expansion.

The Blackview Shark 9 proudly mentions that both its cameras are paired with Samsung sensors — a rare sight even in the higher price ranges. The battery is standard 5,000mAh, while the charging speed is capped at 18W, which is actually the slowest in this list.

If we were to base this list on performance alone, this phone would easily grab the first spot in our best phones under 20000 in Nepal list. However, we have to factor in other things when listing these phones. One of those is brand value.

So, the reason this phone is at the bottom of the list is because it’s from Blackview. Even though it is an international brand capable of building a foldable phone of its own, the brand name does not instil confidence in anyone.

I am sure a lot of people have not even heard the name “Blackview”. But, if you do not care about brand and all you care about is pure performance value out of your money, then Blackview Shark 9 is definitely worth considering!

4. Samsung Galaxy A07

Samsung Galaxy A07

Samsung Galaxy A07 is actually our top pick for the best mobile phones under 15000 in Nepal. However, the phone is so good that it managed to crack into the best phones for under 20000 list as well. I mean, if Samsung locks in, they don’t miss, do they?

PRICING

Rs. 15,999 (4/64GB) | Rs. 17,999 (4/128GB) | Rs. 19,999 (6/128GB)

KEY SPECS
6.7” 90Hz HD+ PLS LCD
MediaTek Helio G99
50MP+2MP | 8MP
5,000mAh | 25W Fast Charging

Pros

  • Affordability
  • Supreme Software Experience
  • Brand value

Cons

  • No Stereo Speakers
  • Waterdrop notch

Thoughts on Samsung Galaxy A07

As I said earlier, if Samsung decides to make a good phone, they will make a good phone. A-series phones aren’t usually the best in their category, like Samsung’s S-series phones.

However, the Samsung Galaxy A07 turned out to be so good that it’s cracking into the list of best phones above its price range.

We have the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset powering it, one of the only viable options that deliver solid performance while keeping it 4G. That’s precisely why many manufacturers trust the Helio G99 and charge a premium for it.

Which brings me to why the Samsung Galaxy A07 is one helluva unit. Not only does it feature the great Helio G99, but it is also the most affordable phone to be powered by this chip.

Looking into our database, this 4G-only processor consistently beats or at least matches the performance of budget 5G processors like the Dimensity 6020. So the performance side of things is solid on this phone.

Then there is the thing that Samsung does so well —  software. We get the full One UI and will be getting it for the next SIX years! Six years of software support on a Rs. 16,000 phone is crazy work from Samsung. This thing even has a bit of AI capabilities.

Other than that phone comes with a 90Hz LCD panel, a 50MP main camera, an 8MP selfie shooter, a 5,000mAh battery, and supports 25W fast charging. Now the phone does not come with a charger in the box, but Samsung, being as classy as they are, bundles a separate charger for absolutely free.

There are a few things that make you go, “I wish Samsung hadn’t done that,” like sticking with a mono speaker setup and still shipping their phones with a waterdrop cutout when almost all of the competitors, even in the lower price tag, have moved on from it.

Even though there are a few tiny pet peeves with the Samsung Galaxy A07, it is greatly outshone by what this phone nails right.

3. Infinix Hot 60 Pro

Infinix Hot 60 Pro

Infinix Hot 60 Pro is a great all-rounder in this list. It has a 1.5K resolution AMOLED screen, a 50MP camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and 45W charging. It’s a great package, which also means it costs a bit more than most phones in this price range.

PRICING

Rs. 20,999 (8/128GB)

KEY SPECS
6.78” 144Hz 1.5K AMOLED
MediaTek Helio G200
50MP | 13MP
5,160mAh | 45W Fast Charging

Pros

  • 144Hz AMOLED display
  • IP64 rating
  • 1440p video recording
  • 45W Charging Speed

Cons

  • A little bit pricier

Thoughts on Infinix Hot 60 Pro

Initially, we had the Infinix Hot 50 Pro at this spot in our list of best phones under 20000 in Nepal. However, Infinix phones move really quickly, so we have the Infinix Hot 60 Pro here instead. No issues though. Because the Infinix Hot 60 Pro is the same phone as the 50 Pro, but BETTER!

We have the MediaTek Helio G200 chipset, which is a refresh of the G100 we saw on the 50 Pro, which in turn, is the refresh of the coveted G99. So the performance should be in the same ballpark.

The phone has the same rare camera, but the front camera has been upgraded to 13MP. The battery has gone up by 160mAh, and the charging is now 45W, making it one of the fastest charging phones in this price range.

Then there is the fact that the Infinix Hot 60 Pro has a big and vibrant 144Hz OLED screen, and it is IP64-rated too, making its case stronger. The Infinix Hot 60 Pro has a legitimate claim at the top spot of this list. However, the upcoming two phones offer almost the same things as this one, while being a few thousand rupees cheaper.

So, this is where the Infinix Hot 50 Pro sits.

2. HMD Crest

HMD Crest

HMD Crest has an OLED panel, UNISOC T760 chipset, 50MP cameras, and 33W charging, making it a great choice for a large number of people. There isn’t particularly anything on this phone that leaves a bad taste.

PRICING

Rs. 18,999 (6/128GB)

KEY SPECS
6.67” 90Hz FHD+ OLED
UNISOC T760
50MP+2MP | 50MP
5,000mAh | 33W Fast Charging

Pros

  • OLED display
  • Good performance

Cons

  • Lack of stereo speakers
  • Lack of a dedicated microSD card slot

Thoughts on HMD Crest

Continuing the pattern of a little better than the last entry, we come to our second spot holder, i.e. the HMD Crest. This phone continues or adds on to what the Infinix Hot 60 Pro had, without sacrificing much.

This phone is no longer 144Hz, but 90Hz gives a good enough experience. The video quality has come down to 1080p from 1440p, but you get a higher-resolution selfie camera instead. There is less RAM, and the dedicated storage slot is gone, but the processor is more potent than the Helio G200. The UNISOC T760 processor inside, which is the most powerful chipset in this list (only behind T820, of course).

A free 33W Type-C to Type-C charger in the box, a repairable design, and being Rs. 2,000 cheaper than the Infinix Hot 60 Pro further add charm to this phone. If this phone came with stereo speakers as well, it would have been absolute perfection.

Now, you may be thinking, didn’t this person place Blackview Shark 9 at the bottom of the list, saying it lacked brand value, even though that phone could have ranked in second place? Then, to that I say, HMD has a great brand value. It’s a company that produces phones under the “NOKIA” name. You must have heard that name, right?

To keep it simple, HMD is pretty much the same as Nokia. It’s just that the HMD name had not arrived in Nepal until this phone. With all this in mind, HMD Crest is where it is.

Lastly, THE Best Phone Under 20000 in Nepal is…

1. Motorola Moto G35

Motorola Moto G35

Motorola Moto G35 has an IPS panel with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, a dual camera setup including 50MP primary and 8MP ultrawide, a 5,000mAh battery, and 18W charging. It is a no-nonsense, “do it all good enough to not be a problem” type of phone, which makes it the best pick in this list of best phones under 20000 in Nepal.

PRICING

Rs. 18,999 (4/128GB)

KEY SPECS
6.72” 120Hz FHD+ IPS LCD
UNISOC T760
50MP+8MP | 16MP
5,000mAh | 18W Fast Charging

Pros

  • Premium-looking Design
  • Good Performance
  • Functional secondary camera
  • 4K video recording

Cons

  • Limited charging speed
  • Only an IPS LCD screen
  • Lack of a dedicated microSD card slot

Thoughts on Motorola Moto G35

Before I go into further detail on the Motorola Moto G35, let me just clarify that it isn’t an objectively better choice than the HMD Crest. If I could, I would have placed both these phones in joint first place. Hence, Motorola Moto G35 is more of a sidegrade to the HMD Crest, and the latter option might be a better pick for you depending on your needs.

That being said, the immediate caveats you may notice on this phone compared to the last two entries are the lack of an OLED panel, only 4GB of RAM, and the slow 18W charging. However, you pick a few things instead of those compromises. Those include: Motorola branding, better build quality with vegan leather finish and Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the front, a functional two-camera setup with 50MP main and 8MP ultrawide sensor, and 4K video recording capabilities.

Even the caveats are with asterisks. It may be an IPS LCD panel, but it is still one with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It may have just 4GB of RAM, but it does not compromise overall performance, giving the same UNISOC T760 chip that makes the HMD Crest great. Then, regarding charging, anything above 10W is technically fast charging.

At the end of the day, the Motorola Moto G35 takes the crown of the best phone under Rs. 20,000 in Nepal, being the safest bet for the masses in this price range. But, honestly speaking, it was a three-way race between the top 3, with each phone one-upping another in different criteria. So, the best phone will be different depending on your priorities.

Honourable Mentions

Aight. Those were our top 5 smartphones under 20000 in Nepal. Now we will round off this list with a few honourable mentions, consisting of phones that just missed the list or at least deserve a shout-out!

HMD Crest Max

HMD Crest Max

The first is HMD Crest Max. This is a larger and slightly upgraded version of our second-best pick (#1 for some). Most of the specs remain unchanged, including the display, processor, and such. With the Max version, you get larger storage, a better main camera of 64MP, which is then coupled with a 5MP ultrawide lens.

These extras will run you an additional 4,000 rupees, which takes it quite a bit higher than our Rs. 20,000 threshold. But in case you can stretch your budget a bit, going for HMD Crest totally makes sense!

Redmi 15

Redmi 15

Then we have the Redmi 15 — the successor to the Redmi 13, which was a regular on this list. It falls a bit short of that legacy, despite bringing a few upgrades.

It features a 6.9-inch 144Hz LCD, 50MP camera, and a massive 7,000mAh battery — the biggest in its class. The Snapdragon 685 holds it back. But being a Xiaomi phone and being widely available, it still deserves a shoutout.

Itel RS 4

Itel RS 4

The final honourable mention goes to the Itel RS 4, which previously held the fourth spot on our best phones under 20000 in Nepal list.

Powered by the Helio G99, it’s the only phone with a gaming aesthetic and 256GB of storage to be available under Rs. 20,000 . But since it still boots on Android 13, its time in the spotlight is nearing its end.

In the meantime, feel free to check out our other lists for the best phones across different price ranges.
