Cimex, the authorized distributor of BYD vehicles in Nepal, is expected to launch its most affordable EV for Nepal, the Seagull.

Seagull is built on the e-Platform 3.0 just the Seal, Atto 3, and Dolphin.

Hence it shares the same level of efficiency, safety, aesthetics, intelligence, as well as passenger space like any of the BYD vehicles available in Nepal.

Interestingly, Seagull has also been dubbed as “Dolphin Mini” in different parts of the world.

What is the Price of BYD Seagull in Nepal?

BYD Seagull price in Nepal remains unconfirmed. Currently, we are awaiting for its official launch.

As per our sources, the Seagull is expected to arrive in early 2025. Moreover, it is offered across two battery options: 30.08 kWh and 38.88 kWh, internationally.

Following the trend set by the Atto 3, it is likely that these battery variants will also be available for the Seagull in Nepal.

Design

BYD Seagull is a compact hatchback.

The Seagull flaunts angular LED headlights with integrated DRLs, giving it an aggressive front-end look.

While the front design exudes a bold attitude, the side profile reveals its compact dimensions.

With a modest wheelbase of just 2500 mm, it embraces its small stature.

However, the slanting roofline, sharp contours, and flush door handles add a sense of dynamism to its appearance. The 16-inch Multi-Spoke Wheels enhance its sporty vibe.

Performance

BYD Seagull is powered by a 55 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), generating a max power of 74.7 PS and a max torque of 135 Nm.

It comes with a 30.08 kWh and 38.88 kWh Blade Battery options that provides a 305 Km and 405 Km of CLTC claimed range respectively.

The 30.08 kWh Battery pack can be charged from 0 to 100% in around 10 hours with a 3.3 kW AC Charger while a 7.2 kW Charger can do the same in around 5 hours.

Similarly, with a 3.3 kW AC Charger the 38.88 kWh Battery pack can be charged from 0 to 100% in around 12 hours and a 7.2 kW Charger can charge it from 0 to 100% in around 6 hours.

Seagull also supports fast charging and it can be charges from 30% to 80% in under 30 minutes.

Furthermore, it can reach a top speed of 130 Km/h and accelerates from 0 to 50 Kmph in just 4.9 seconds.

Additional Details

McPherson Strut and Torsion Beam handles the suspension duties.

The dimensions are 3780 mm length, 1715 mm width, and 1540 mm height. Moreover, the wheelbase is 2500 mm.

With a ground clearance of just 120 mm, this city-focused car might struggle to handle Nepal’s challenging road conditions.

Moving on, the kerb weight sits at 1160 Kg to 1240 Kg. And, the boot space is 230-liters, expandable up to 930-liters.
