- It is available across 31.4 kWh (E2 variant) or 42.3 kWh (E3 variant) LFP battery options.
Dongfeng has trimmed the Nammi 01’s motor from 70 kW to 50 kW across all variants. Was it a smart move or a misfire? Especially with the previously heard buzz around an EV tax hike ahead of the 2082/83 budget. Hard to say.
MAW Vriddhi, the authorized distributor of the Dongfeng Passenger vehicles in Nepal, has updated the Nammi 01 for the Nepali market.
Nammi 01 is the first vehicle from the Nammi brand to roll out of the Dongfeng Quantum Architecture S3 Platform. The platform enhances vehicle performance, efficiency, and connectivity, offering advanced features and optimized design for a superior driving experience.
What is the Price of Dongfeng Nammi 01 in Nepal?
Dongfeng Nammi 01 price in Nepal starts at Rs. 32.49 Lakhs and goes up to Rs. 36.49 Lakhs. Moreover, there are currently six options between this price range.
Previously, the lineup included E1, E2, and E3 variants, each distinguished by their battery sizes and feature sets. However, the E1 variant has now been discontinued.
In its place, the E2 and E3 variants have been updated with new motor configurations, and can be easily differentiated with their respective battery capacities, and equipment levels.
The E2 and E3 variant are currently available with two motor options: 70 kW and 50 kW. However, according to company officials, Dongfeng Nepal will no longer actively import the 70 kW motor variants. Going forward, the 50 kW motor will become the new standard for the Nammi 01 lineup in Nepal. So, in this article we will be focusing toward this new lineup in general.
But currently, buyers can choose between Single Tone and Dual Tone color schemes of both 70 kW and 50 kW options (due to remaining stocks). The remaining E3 with the 70 kW motor is priced at Rs. 35.99 Lakhs for the Single Tone and Rs. 36.49 Lakhs for the Dual Tone. Meanwhile, the newly introduced 50 kW version of the E3 is available for Rs. 34.79 Lakhs (Single Tone) and Rs. 35.29 Lakhs (Dual Tone).
Also, the E2 variant with a 70 kW motor is priced at Rs. 32.49 Lakhs for the Single Tone and Rs. 32.99 Lakhs for the Dual Tone. However, the price for the E2 50 kW Motor is not known as of yet. But, if you look at the brochure of Nammi 01, the motor capacity under E2 variant’s column has also been revised to 49.5 kW (~50 kW).

Dongfeng Nammi 01 Overview
Exterior
Nammi 01 stands out as a hatchback with a sleek and compact design.
The front section sports a Closed Grille design, complete with a Striking Trail of LED Lights that leads to the gleaming Triangular Headlights. These headlights are one the most attractive element in the entire car.
Moreover, the compact bonnet area allows a good amount of visibility which will be appreciated by new drivers. On the lower section, we can see a grille that serve as a air intakes for battery cooling, along with some flanking chrome elements.
The Nammi 01 showcases a compact and stylish side profile with thoughtful design details. Built on a 2660 mm wheelbase, the car keeps its overhangs short to maintain a balanced and compact look which later on translates to a spacious cabin inside.
Sleek elements like Hidden Door Handles and Frameless Doors enhance its streamlined appearance. Moreover, the Dual-Tone trims of the Nammi include a white roof that is distinctive to the body color of the car, giving a Dual-Tone look to the car. The charging port is neatly positioned on the front-right side for easy access.
The rear design of the Nammi 01 remains clean and minimal. A slight extension of the roof channels airflow efficiently as the car moves, helping it glide more smoothly by reducing drag, acting as a subtle aerodynamic aid. As a hatchback, it comes with integrated boot space inside the cabin. However, the boot door sits a bit high, which can make loading and unloading items slightly inconvenient.
One unique detail at the back is the “BOX” badge. This isn’t an error, in fact, the Nammi 01 is originally known as the Dongfeng Box. The name “Nammi 01” is primarily used for regional marketing purposes.
Additionally, the Nammi 01 is available in Single Tone (Blue, Green, Purple, White, and Grey) and Dual Tone color options (Green-White, Purple-White, and Blue-White).
Interior
Inside, the Nammi 01 delivers a surprisingly premium feel. The cabin features leatherette upholstery throughout, including on areas that typically use hard plastics. While the materials look upscale at first glance, a closer touch reveals the firm plastic beneath the synthetic leather covering.
The seating configuration comfortably seats five, but with the front seats featuring a foldable feature, the whole seating space can be converted into a comfortable bed. Moreover, the driver’s seat also comes with Memory function, Heating, and Ventilation function.
The dashboard is anchored by a centrally mounted 12.8-inch Floating Infotainment Screen, which supports mobile remote control and voice command features. And, much like other Chinese EVs, most of the functions of the car has to be toggled through this screen. Moreover, buyers also have the option to install Apple CarPlay and Android Auto at the time of purchase for added connectivity.
The central console features a practical storage compartment paired with a Wireless Phone Charger. Just below it, there is a 12V charging ports and a few extra storage spaces. While their placement feels slightly awkward, they still serve as a convenient spot to keep phones while charging. On the passenger side, the dashboard includes a Tray-Style Glove Box, offering a twist on the traditional design.
The Dual-Spoke steering wheel comes with steering-mounted controls while a 5-inch Instrument Cluster sits behind it, while the Drive Selector is a stick attached right with the steering column.
Performance
The new stream of Dongfeng Nammi 01 (E3 variant) now comes equipped with a 49.5 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, delivering a max power of 67.3 PS and a maximum torque of 160 Nm.
While previous Nammi models featured a more powerful 70 kW motor, this new version sees a drop in top speed to 130 kmph (10 kmph less than before) though the torque figures remain unchanged. This reduction in motor capacity naturally results in slightly lower overall performance.
Dongfeng Nepal has also simplified the Nammi lineup by discontinuing the earlier base variant, the E1. Going forward, only the E2 and E3 variants will be available.
The E2 variant is powered by a 31.4 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack, offering a WLTP-certified range of 237 kilometers on a full charge. On the other hand, the E3 variant comes with a larger 42.3 kWh LFP battery pack, which claims a range of 317 kilometers under WLTP standards.
When it comes to charging, the Nammi 01 offers flexible options. Using a standard 3.3 kW AC charger, the E2 charges from 0 to 100% in about 10 hours and 30 minutes, while the E3 takes around 14 hours.
With a 7 kW AC charger, the E2 fully charges in approximately 5 hours, and the E3 in about 7 hours.
For faster turnaround, both variants support DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in roughly 30 minutes.
Additional Details
MacPherson Independent and Torsion Beam Non-independent Suspension handle suspension duties.
The dimensions are 4020 mm long, 1810 mm wide, and 1570 mm tall. Moreover, the wheelbase is 2660 mm.

Dongfeng Nammi 01 Price in Nepal and Availability
The Dongfeng Nammi 01 is price in Nepal starts from Rs. 32,49,000 (E2 Single Tone with 70 kW Motor) and goes up to Rs. 36,49,000 (E3 Dual Tone with 70 kW Motor). At present, there are a total of six trims available across the old and new lineups.
From the previous generation, the E2 and E3 variants were offered in both Single Tone and Dual Tone color options, each equipped with a 70 kW motor. In the updated lineup, the E3 variant now comes with a 50 kW motor for both Single and Dual Tone colors.
Interestingly, while the official brochure still displays the E1 and E2 variants, the updated price list only includes the E2 and E3 variant with the 70 kW motor and furthermore, the E3 variant with the 50 kW motor.
Also, according to the distributors, the E1 variant and all trims with the 70 kW motor will be discontinued once the existing stock is cleared.
Going forward, the Nammi 01 lineup will be streamlined to include only the E2 and E3 variants, where the E2 will serve as the entry-level option and the E3 will represent the top-spec trim. It should also be noted that the E2 variant will now also be offered with a 50 kW motor option. Although the price for this specific configuration is not yet listed in the official pricing, the motor capacity for the E2 variant is also officially rated at 49.5 kW.
The basic difference between these two variants is due to the sizes of battery pack (31.4 kWh vs. 42.3 kWh) but on top of that E3 variant also features some exclusive features such as an ADAS suite, 360 Degree Camera, Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic AC, and Automatic Parking capability.
It can be quite confusing to understand the refreshed lineup so here’s a table that lists the available Dongfeng Nammi 01 price in Nepal for July 2025.
Dongfeng Nammi 01 Variants | Motor Capacity | Price in Nepal |
---|---|---|
E2 – Single Tone | 70 kW | Rs. 3249000 |
E2 – Dual Tone | 70 kW | Rs. 3299000 |
E3 – Single Tone | 70 kW | Rs. 3599000 |
E3 – Dual Tone | 70 kW | Rs. 3649000 |
E3 – Single Tone | 50 kW | Rs. 3479000 |
E3 – Dual Tone | 50 kW | Rs. 3529000 |
Note that the table does not include the price for the E2 50 kW variant. According to officials, the brand will primarily focus on the E3 variant with the 50 kW motor. Although the E2 50 kW variant will also be available in the coming days, the company has not prioritized it as much.
Rivals
In the compact electric hatchback segment, the Dongfeng Nammi 01 competes directly with the BYD Dolphin.
Despite its higher price tag of Rs. 41.15 Lakhs, the Dolphin continues to dominate the market. With nearly 2,500 units already on Nepali roads, it benefits from BYD’s early entry (launched a full year before the Nammi 01), and a solid reputation built on brand trust and reliability.
Still, the Nammi 01 counters with a more feature-packed offering for its price. The top-spec variant costs Rs. 36.49 Lakhs and includes several modern cabin and tech enhancements. For buyers focused on value and equipment, the Nammi 01 presents a compelling option. However, it falls short in safety, offering only two airbags, compared to 6 Airbags in the Dolphin.
Adding to the Dolphin’s edge, BYD recently introduced the updated 2025 model, which brings subtle improvements. Among them, a sportier suspension setup addresses earlier criticisms of the Dolphin’s unexciting ride quality, giving it a sharper, more engaging character on the road. In contrast, the Nammi 01 now comes with a reduced motor capacity of 50 kW (49.5 kW), down from the earlier 70 kW. This downgrade inevitably affects performance. Competitors like the Leapmotor T03, although smaller in size, continue to offer stronger performance with a 70 kW motor.
Dongfeng Nepal claims the detuned motor is a factory-level change but it can also be assumed that this is likely made to avoid higher EV taxation under the speculation of the revised structure for 2082/83 (which never happened). While this move may help keep costs down, it raises concerns about long-term competitiveness, especially in a market where performance is becoming a key differentiator.
On the battery and warranty front, the Dolphin holds yet another advantage. It features BYD’s trusted Blade Battery technology and comes with a 10-year warranty, compared to the Nammi 01’s 8-year coverage. In conclusion, the Nammi 01 offers excellent value with its modern tech and lower price point. However, the Dolphin continues to lead where it matters most: Safety, Performance, Reliability, and Brand Assurance. For buyers seeking a long-term, well-rounded EV, the Dolphin remains the smarter choice.
