Xiaomi has sacrificed their “sky-high” prices in the name of Dashain. This festive season, Xiaomi, instead of luring customers through pesky offers, has slashed the prices of three of their most exciting phones, the Redmi S2, Redmi Note 5 AI, and the Redmi 5 Plus.
Xiaomi Redmi Smartphones Receive Price Cut
Xiaomi Redmi S2
Xiaomi Redmi S2 has two variants. One 3GB+32GB variant, and another 4GB+64GB one. The 3GB+32GB variant cost Rs. 21,999 when it launched but now the price has been slashed to Rs. 19,499. That is an Rs. 2,500 reduction. The 4GB+64GB variant that cost Rs. 26,999 previously now is available for Rs. 23,499. This is an Rs. 3,500 reduction. The phone was launched on 2018 May. So, with this price cut, Redmi S2 is an amazing deal. Read our article on the Redmi S2 if you want to know more about it.
Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus
Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus, like the Redmi S2, has two configurations: 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB. The 3GB+32GB variant cost Rs. 20,999 when it launched but now the price has been slashed to Rs. 19,499. That is an Rs. 1,500 reduction. The 4GB+64GB variant that cost Rs. 24,999 previously now is available for Rs. 23,499. This is an Rs. 2,500 reduction. This brings the cost of the Redmi 5 Plus on par with the cost of Redmi S2.
Which phone you choose will depend upon your personal preference, but there are some key things to keep in mind. The Redmi S2 has an HD screen but there is a dual camera setup on the back. The Redmi 5 Plus, on the other hand, has a Full HD screen but a single camera on the back. If you don’t want to choose between these two features then you should take a look at the next phone on this list.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 AI
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 AI also has two configurations: 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB. The 3GB+32GB variant cost Rs. 25,999 when it launched but now the price has been slashed to Rs. 23,499. That is an Rs. 2,500 reduction. The 4GB+64GB variant that cost Rs. 29,999 previously now is available for Rs. 27,499. This is an Rs. 2,500 reduction.
For these reduced prices, Redmi Note 5 AI may be an even better deal than the Mi A2 Lite. It is definitely a better phone than the Redmi S2 or the Redmi 5 Plus and it doesn’t have any of their shortcomings. It has both a full HD screen and a dual camera setup.
So, that’s all the price slashing we have heard from Xiaomi. Their phones already are an amazing value for money. But with the price cut, the value they offer becomes even better.
If you are looking for a phone under 30K, then take a long look at these phones as these are some of the best you can find on the market. We don’t know if the deals are here to stay. Maybe they will only live through Dashain and Tihar. Decide quickly.
