TVS Stryker 125 Overview

Design

Right from the start, the TVS Stryker 125 presents a distinctly commuter-focused design, made even more evident by its Cradle Tubular frame.

At the front, the Stryker 125 features a Halogen Headlight paired with Telescopic Forks on both sides. The wide handlebars promote a relaxed and upright riding posture, enhancing overall comfort during daily commutes.

A noticeable gap between the handlebars and the fuel tank provides excellent room for maneuverability, making sharp turns and navigating through traffic much easier.

From the side, the bike maintains a slim profile, staying true to its minimalistic nature. The overlapping tank shrouds add a touch of style without going overboard.

TVS has equipped the Stryker 125 with a Single-Seat layout, offering generous cushioning to ensure a comfortable ride for both rider and pillion. Moreover, the exposed engine compartment allows ample airflow for effective heat dissipation, reducing the likelihood of overheating during extended rides.

And, rolling on 17-inch wheels, the bike features a front disc brake that delivers sharp, responsive braking, which is especially noticeable due to the bike’s lightweight and nimble character. Adding to that, the long exhaust pipe runs neatly along the side and maintains a safe distance from the rear foot pegs.

At the rear, a Single-Piece Grab Rail offers easy support for passengers, while the LED Taillight and well-positioned rear fender give the bike a clean, functional finish.

On the instrumentation side, the bike features a Analog-Digital Instrument Cluster that neatly displays all essential information related to speed, rpm, distance, and fuel state. Also, the layout is well-organized and visually appealing. This version includes a USB charging port as well.

Rivals

The rivalry between the TVS Stryker 125 and Bajaj Discover 125 (Disc) has been a long-standing one in the 125cc commuter segment.

In this fiercely competitive market, price plays a crucial role. Even a small difference can significantly impact annual sales. With this in mind, TVS has priced the Stryker 125 at an aggressive Rs. 2.48 lakhs, undercutting the Discover 125 by Rs. 5,000, which currently sits at Rs. 2.53 lakhs. In this segment, that price gap matters, a lot.

When it comes to performance, both motorcycles produce a similar power output of 11 PS. However, the Discover 125 reaches its peak power earlier in the rev range, giving it a slight edge in responsiveness.

On the other hand, the Stryker 125 delivers marginally higher torque (0.2 Nm), which contributes to better low-end grunt. TVS also equips the Stryker with a significantly larger 14.5-liter fuel tank compared to Discover’s 8-liter unit, offering better range between refuels.

Despite that, Bajaj claws back the advantage with superior fuel efficiency. According to ARAI tests, the Discover 125 delivers an impressive 82 kmpl, while the Stryker 125 returns 67 kmpl.

While both figures are optimistic in real-world conditions, they clearly highlight the Discover 125’s edge in efficiency, thanks largely to its DTS-i engine technology. Beyond price and mileage, most buyers in this segment trust both TVS and Bajaj for building reliable commuter motorcycles.

However, if we must draw a line, the Discover 125 appeals to those seeking maximum fuel efficiency.

Meanwhile, the Stryker 125 focuses more on comfort, handling, and day-to-day ride quality.

Additionally, the Stryker’s instrument cluster looks more modern and appealing, giving it an edge in style.
