The realme P series took the Nepali market by surprise when the P3 and P3 Ultra launched with very aggressive pricing. That immediately put the series in the spotlight. Let’s see if the latest addition to the lineup can recreate the same buzz.

However, the realme P4 isn’t the first P4 series phone to arrive in Nepal. We already got the P4 Power with its massive 10,001mAh battery, costing north of Rs. 70,000. Don’t worry, though, the regular P4 won’t cost nearly as much. Let’s take a look at its expected price and what it brings to the table.
What is the Price of realme P4 in Nepal?
The realme P4 price in Nepal could be Rs. 55,999 for the sole 8/256GB variant. However, realme hasn’t confirmed the phone’s official launch in Nepal yet.
The phone is already listed on realme’s global website alongside the P4 Lite and P4x. But whether the regular P4 will make its way to Nepal at the expected price remains to be seen.
The realme P4 Power, the previous phone in the series to arrive in Nepal, tried to take on Xiaomi’s popular Redmi Note lineup with its massive 10,001mAh battery, which even edged out the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max‘s 10,000mAh unit on paper. It also offered a generous 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration.
While the P4 Power wasn’t exactly a bargain, it had enough going for it to compete with Xiaomi’s popular offering. So, I had high hopes for the regular P4 as well.
realme P4 Overview
The realme P4 has a familiar design. It’s completely flat, like most smartphones nowadays, and features a rectangular camera module with multiple cutouts, an LED flash, and an AI Pulse Light.
We’ve seen this design language before, so there’s nothing particularly new here. However, what I find more interesting is its Aero Racing design. Depending on the color variant, Racing Purple or Racing Green, the back panel features a racing stripe along the right side, giving the phone a more distinctive look.
The P4 also comes with military-grade shock resistance, having passed the MIL-STD 810H testing standard. However, its IP65 rating is less impressive. It should handle dust and water splashes, but don’t expect the same level of water protection as phones with higher IP ratings.
Moving on to the display, it’s actually quite surprising that realme has equipped the P4 with an AMOLED panel. After all, HD+ LCDs are still common on budget 4G phones.

The P4 features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also supports brightness of up to 1,200 nits in HBM and is protected by AGC DT-Star 2 glass. That’s a pretty decent display package, and arguably one of its biggest selling points.
Things are much less exciting on the performance front. The realme P4 runs on the Snapdragon 685, a 4G chipset that feels underwhelming for its expected price. Sure, the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration is generous for a budget phone, but that’s also part of the problem. You’re paying a premium for the memory configuration while the processor remains entry-level.

If you want similar performance, realme’s own C85 4G offers the same Snapdragon 685 chipset at a much lower price. So, unless you specifically want the P4’s display and other features, the value proposition isn’t particularly convincing.
To help manage heat, realme has equipped the P4 with a 5,300mm² vapor chamber as part of a larger 15,292mm² cooling system. This should help dissipate heat more effectively and keep temperatures under control during extended use. However, better cooling won’t change the fact that the Snapdragon 685 is an entry-level chipset.
The camera setup is pretty basic as well. You get a single 50MP main camera on the back and an 8MP selfie shooter on the front. There’s no ultrawide or macro camera, which is a bummer at this price. Some competitors, such as the Samsung Galaxy A27, offer a more versatile camera setup, giving you more flexibility when taking photos.

The battery is arguably the other major highlight, alongside the display. The realme P4 packs a 7,000mAh battery that should comfortably last more than a day for many users. It supports 45W wired charging, and there’s bypass charging too, which can be useful when gaming while plugged in.
As for software, the P4 runs Android 16 with realme UI 7.0. However, realme hasn’t confirmed the software update policy, so we’ll have to wait for more information on how long the phone will receive updates.

The realme P4 has a few things going for it, particularly its AMOLED display, generous memory configuration, and large battery. However, its expected price is difficult to justify when the performance doesn’t quite match the rest of the package.
At the end of the day, the Snapdragon 685 is the deciding factor here. You can have plenty of RAM and storage, a good display, and a massive battery, but none of that makes up for a processor that feels underpowered for the price. Unless realme launches the P4 at a more competitive price in Nepal, I’d wait for the official launch before considering it.
