Oppo Reveals Oppo R17 With a Tiny Notch and Snapdragon 670

Oppo ranks in the top 5 of the world’s largest smartphone manufacturers. They have a huge selection of products in every budget range. They have been known to make innovative and mind-blowing smartphones like the Oppo Find X. In Nepal, they are known mostly for their crazy selfie cameras and snazzy design. They make some of the best looking mid-range phones in Nepal.This time, Oppo has unveiled Oppo R17 in a listing on its website. The latest development comes days after the handset surfaced on TENAA and spotted in some leaks. This phone has the Snapdragon 670 processor, which is a new mid-range processor from Qualcomm. The official listing has confirmed that this newest Oppo phone has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display that sports a Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection on top and has an in-display fingerprint sensor! The resolution of the display is full HD+. Might we say, the screen looks fabulous with the teardrop-shaped notch and practically no bezels on the sides.

The smartphone also comes with AI supported dual rear cameras whose specs haven’t been fully revealed yet but OPPO has said the camera can read up to 800 scenes, thanks to the AI abilities of the camera and software. There is a 25 MP single front shooter residing inside the tiny notch similar to the one found on the Find X.

The phone features 8GB RAM which is more than plenty for multitasking in 2018. The 128 GB will be more than enough for even the most demanding user to store nearly all their apps. There is a 3500 mAh battery on the inside which supports VOOC, Oppo’s version of fast charging. This technology is similar to OnePlus‘ dash charging tech. Hence, it is the fastest fast charging except the fast charging on Oppo Find X Lamborghini edition.

OPPO R17 Price in Nepal: TBD

The back of the phone looks as good as the front. The two colors available are Stream Blue or Neon Purple. The first one switches from Blue to Green to Aqua depending on lighting, the latter has one magenta and one violet edge of the black rear panel, making the phone appear completely different when looked from both sides.

The R17 is an exciting phone. Its design is spectacular. The internals is interesting; the cameras are powerful. We don’t know if it will land in Nepal though. But if it does, we know that it won’t come cheap. The phone will be launched on 18th August in China. And that’s when its price will be revealed.
